  3. Just curious but in all these machinations on UPT NEXT, FUPT, etc… has the Air Force Safety Center been asked or done an analysis on the effectiveness/impact of curtailing/changing pilot training? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Today
  5. My dog is a lab mix, for a reason. Easiest option, IMHO, is to get a vet or a piece of paper that says your dog is a mix breed. Not sure how the emotional support animal strategy would play out. Good luck. Very sweet looking pup!
  6. PC-21 would be great I could post again this plane or that one, this many hours in this one then this one but really it’s all about getting the institution of the AF to admit that the effort to privatize too much of UPT, to cut from UPT and to radically change UPT is the problem. Not the fact and inherent costs of owning training aircraft(s) at dedicated training bases. I don’t know how you get a champion(s) with equivalent authority to those who wish to cut everything but the upcoming T-7 but if ever a training mafia needs to be formed ala the fighter mafia it is now. 7. @nunya I just know some guys who have beat my numbers decisively, but I’m not interested in going down that road personally. To do so, I think you have to be really into it, have a deep understanding, and some luck. I’m definitely 1/3 at best.
  8. Eh, unlikely, at least in large caps. I tried the "active" route the first half of the year. The steep V recovery kicked my ass. I'll stay in my indexing lane from now on.
  9. Macdill will be opening around 2026ish.
  10. Well my super lazy investing (index funds/target retirement IRAs) are up 12% in the last year and 4% since Trump took office. So yeah, only positive impact on my investments from Trump’s economic policies. And I’m sure people who are far more active/educated/“pros” in their investing are doing much better. Facts over emotions
  11. Being an E-3 Crew Chief for many years, being there getting brand new jets delivered and arriving broke for radar. Seeing many air aborts for mission systems which the acft the day before had flown 12 hours of pilot pro's. Seeing the reengining program cut, if they would have done this the fleet could have been much healthier, changed many TF-33s to see it not even last one mission. Today the TF33 goes to depot and sits on a deadline with no parts to fix it. This acft has been so badly mismanaged by Wing Commanders who only cared about their next job, the knee jerk reaction for the black hawk shootdowns of building additional new crews but not having the acft to certify them. I am so glad that I ended my career on KC-135s.
  12. You tell me/us. That's the original question in my post. Taking my post as cheering for economic ruin is retarded. I was pissed at his carelessness with people's life savings. See the difference?
  13. Just wanted to check to see how this post was doing… Oh, and here’s something else: We’ll continue to see the market rise and fall, as it always does, regardless of who is President. But to those who were cheering for it to lose for the whole sake of making Trump look bad, well, I guess your emotions got the better of you.
  14. Great talk by Razin giving an awesome overview of the people and process at the unclass level. It’s awesome he gave a shout out to DTRA. It’s easy to get focused on only the dudes dropping bombs or shooting missiles, but there are a ton of nerds (I mean that in a friendly manner!) out there who love America as much as the warrior does, and they are critical to our success.
  15. I'm watching now. I look forward to that. 😆
  16. Today SECDEF and CJCS gave an update brief on the attack on an Iran's nuclear facilities. A comment by the chairman was epic and deserves it's own thread. "I can assure you there is no beach volleyball at the Air Force Weapons School." – General Dan “Razin” Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, June 26, 2025
  17. The simple answer is because manned ISR assets cannot get the sensors, comms, etc. where we need them to be effective (because they’ll be at the bottom of the ocean well before hitting the effective point). But we can get sensors, comms, etc. where we need them via other means that are far more survivable/robust/expendable, thus actually effective. There’s more nuance than that, but that’s the big picture. Now of course we could sink 100s of Bs into developing a “6th gen” manned ISR platform, but it just doesn’t make sense to do so given emerging technologies and the capabilities we can realize for a lot less (or at least have shitloads more capability for the same price).
  18. I’m curious what differentiates manned ISR from UAS in the “zero game” assessment. What difference does one having a human in it vs. the other not make? Attritable assets don’t have more game; they’re just cheaper to lose. And once you invest in making something ‘survivable’ in the way I think you’re using the term, it is likely not attritable anymore. UAS also introduces a data logistics tail (assuming you want to task and receive the collect) that is as costly to guard as it is to create; it’s been a long time since we’ve shot down or lost a manned airplane because the pilot refused to listen to commands like ‘come home.’ Agree though, maybe we’re all thinking about different scenarios… but this is a VERY common trap people fall into, usually precipitated by somebody saying “you have a problem you don’t know you have. Don’t worry I have a solution, at cost plus.”
  19. Nah. I've had a buddy who dropped the 46 to Travis a year and a half ago.

  21. https://www.aerocontact.com/public/img/aviaexpo/produits/catalogues/297/Pilatus-Aircraft-Ltd-PC-21-Brochure.pdf Looking at this PDF the PC-21 probably has all the avionics upgrades Borsight is going to be upgrading the T-6 to. I spot large MFDs, HUD, a mission computer, and probably a GPS that isn't from the early/mid 90s. Pilatus website even has some airframes with pylons for simulated weapons. Sounds like something the Air Force could use as a front line trainer and to bridge the gap for the fighter/bomber bros before T-38s/T-7s. Seems like a no brainer to me which is probably why the Air Force isn't going this direction.

  23. Curiosity killing the cat here. Do T-6 FAIPs go onto heavies now, or is it where they could track T-38s after their FAIP tour? Civilian here, just pure curiosity as to how assignments work currently out of USAF UPT.
  24. Well, it does run through 2034...
  25. Hi all, we are new to this military life and new parents. My husband is just about to graduate from AIT and we are to PCS to JBLM this August. I am 25 weeks pregnant and since he's been away for almost 6 mos, it was just me and my dog who motivated me get out of the house and helped me emotionally and mentally. Upon filling out the housing application form I read that my dog falls under the "restricted breed" she is a chow mix. I have a psychiatrist, but we are rather new about 2 weeks now and I did ask about the ESA letter, and he told me he won't be able to give me just yet. Which I totally understand. We do not consider living off-base as our E4 BAH will not get us a house with yard and in a safe environment in Washington. My husband prefers to live on-base so he has a peace of mind if he ever gets deployed, leaving his wife and newborn kid. My question is, besides ESA letter from my psychiatrist (I hope I get it before the move) what the other ways we could try so our dog can live with us? I read about asking for commander's approval or ask our vet to change her breed since she's mix?? For backup, has anyone used any "legit" website that military housing accepts for ESA letter? P.s she can be territorial and anxious sometimes, but she is very sweet and very lazy would nap 20hrs a day.
  26. Or his dad's influence, which is worth about....
  27. Sounds like it’s time to sell some more paintings
