Recent Data Shows Significant Spike In US Military Aircraft Accidents
I don't think anyone will be surprised by this... Recent Data Shows Significant Spike In US Military Aircraft Accidents The number of major accidents involving military aircraft spiked in 2024, internal Pentagon figures show, and a series of high-profile aviation mishaps with deaths and the loss of aircraft in 2025 suggest the disturbing trend may be continuing. Across the military, the rate of severe accidents per 100,000 flight hours rose 55% in the 2024 budget year compared with four years earlier. The Marine Corps saw the highest increase, nearly tripling its rate over the same period. The statistics cover the full budget years 2020-2023 and then the first 10 months of the 2024 budget year, through July 31. In those 10 months of last year, 25 service members and Defense Department civilian employees were killed and 14 aircraft were destroyed... (Full story at title link)

I have never seen such an absolutely despicable and disgraceful posturing from any government official. Mark Kelly has been a disappointment for a long time, and this has put him squarely in the category of irredeemable.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
I'm actually surprised that he hasn't been fired by Hegseth since he's fat. His daddy, Slife, was fired, so he's on thin ice (which is literally all ice since he's fat). However, a friend of mine who's an AOC at USAFA told me that apparently Fat Tony had two negligent discharges at the CATM range...the same day of shooting. At least he's maintaining the fact that he's still: Fat A Retard

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Well hopefully the ball gets rolling soon. I graduated OTS a week before Christmas and MFS for all the RPA and conventional pilots was a tdy enroute before PCSing. Hopefully folks can get it knocked out before the holidays. We all got stuck in the OTS dorms for a month until wright patt opened back up in January.

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
If anyone is curious I found this link that spells out all of what is done at MFS. Looks like it'll be a full day unless you have additional testing that needs to be done which can stretch it out to two. Looks like 5% of MFS has issues with only rare cases being a DQ with no waiver option https://www.afrl.af.mil/About-Us/Fact-Sheets/Fact-Sheet-Display/Article/2336839/usafsam-fci-medical-flight-screening

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Still no word since the email from 7 Nov. Without anything loaded in MilPDS my FSS is getting ansy--I was supposed to PCS at the end of November but my understanding of the PSDM is that all pending assignments are to be cancelled. Nothing short of laying siege to my apartment will get me to move.

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
They double check everything like @Justwanttofly said, usually takes about 2-3 full days. Eyes are the big thing. If you wear glasses follow their instructions about wearing them to a T. Iirc about 30% of attendees (including AFROTC and Guard/Reserve) pop something, with 20-25% being waiverable. So only 5-10% of everyone going to MFS gets DQ'd, presumably a lower percentage for those with FC1 in hand.

He was found guilty of a lesser included offense of involuntary manslaughter. Looks like he got 5-15 years in prison.

Watched these a lot growing up in Southern CA. That was until one guy stopped on a bridge and decided to eat a shotgun shell traveling at high velocity. The guy was too fast for the cameras to switch/pull back. Didn't see too many chases on TV after that where I lived. As I recall the man's dog was in the passenger seat. Kinda wish I could forget that shit.

My adopted Dad, super strong MAGA, and I were talking this weekend. He took the grandkids to SF and was amazed at how much it had changed. He said they didn't see a homeless person until the last day they were there and no dodging needles and feces. He grew up there, though doesn't live there anymore but visits often for baseball (big fan w/ season tickets). After that he said he'll never go to Chicago and no one should ever vote for Gavin Newsome. All anecdotal, I know, but I was very surprised.

I think a lot of pursuit policies reflect the liability of an individual agency. State level agencies often have the law and resources on their side whereas city or county agencies frankly don't. Higher up the government food chain the harder it is to sue. Here again I fully support robust aviation support to make running a futile endeavor. In fact, local news helicopters have acted as de-facto air support in the apprehension of suspects at times. Watching long pursuits on TV in some Southern States constitutes fine redneck entertainment. For suspects it has probably prevented the obligatory post chase beat down when it's being broadcast live to thousands so there is that.- 2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Currently, my wife and I have a plan where she is actually enrolling in a masters program that will potentially take her to New Jersey with the kids and she can complete that program while I’m at UPT and I’ll just visit my wife and kids when I can. Currently, I’m stationed out in Vegas and my wife and kids and I absolutely hate being stationed out here so my wife is even thinking about leaving before I do so that way she can get things settled where she may be but it all depends on when I get an assignment and etc.- 2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
That’s what we planned to do too, but the BAH difference between our current assignment and the UPT bases is $1,300-$1,700/month. From my understanding, they just changed things to where you only find out your MWS at drop night now and don’t find out your location until you finish up at the FTU. If that’s the case, they can’t PCS you and then send you to the FTU because you don’t know your final duty station yet. I hope they’re able to accommodate you for IPT locations that make sense!- What's wrong with the Air Force?
Even the local Denver News Paper wants Fat Tony canned. A VERY scathing article documenting the downfall of USAFA under his fat thumb. The U.S. Air Force Academy is on the brink of failure, here’s how to save it (Opinion)- 2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
I think this is one of the drawbacks with IPT. Currently stationed in San Antonio with a wife and kid and reached out to them asking if I could get San Marcos for IPT. Talked with someone who got picked up last year and they told me that the board was able to accommodate an IPT request for family reasons. Plan on moving them out to the UPT base post IPT and just eating the cost to move the rest of our stuff. Either way it sucks because you have to PCS to a UPT base prior to IPT and then lose BAH at your current location. To me it’s worth it though to keep them in place. I always thought it was a PCS to your FTU unless they changed that?- 2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Just curious… for those with families, what is your plan for the PCS to UPT? If the current syllabus holds through CY26, we’ll PCS to our UPT base, go TDY to IPT for 4-5 months, then back to UPT for 3-4 months in T-6s, then TDY to the FTU for our MWS for 3-6 months. Squeeze a SERE TDY in there for a month too. I don’t want to leave my family behind at our current duty station, but it’s hard to think about moving them across the country to a place where they have no support system in some middle-of-nowhere town when I’ll be gone for 6-12 months of the approximately 18 months we’ll live there. It probably makes more sense if you want to fly something fast and pointy so you’ll spend more time at UPT for T-38s, but I personally don’t have that desire. - Initial Pilot Training and Future Pilot Training
