Hi all, I joined this forum a little over a year ago after making the decision to pursue a UPT slot with ANG / AFR fighter squadrons. Not only is this forum a great resource for learning about the ins and outs of military aviation; It's also been a lot of fun getting to know people here. Several of you have taken the time to personally help me on my journey, which I'm very grateful for. So far, I haven't had much success across the 11 applications I've submitted. I have attended one rush event which was a very positive experience, but have yet to be invited to an interview. It's hard to get direct and specific feedback from these UPT boards (I don't blame them, fighter squadrons are being inundated with 250 - 300 applications per board), so I wanted to solicit the opinions, experiences, and expertise of the entire forum to see if there's anything I can do to stand out from the crowd of applicants and improve my hiring chances. Here are my stats: Age: 25 M / F: Male Education: Bachelor's in Political Science, 3.4 / 4.0 GPA. I currently have offers to attend either a one-year or two-year master's program, which I'm considering given the Air Force's years-long training and hiring backlog. Military Experience: None / Civilian AFOQT: 99 Pilot, 91 CSO, 99 ABM, 93 Verbal, 90 Academic Aptitude, 75 Quantitative PCSM / TBAS: 93 Flight Experience: Student Pilot Certificate, 75 Hours (working on scheduling a PPL checkride ASAP) Extracurriculars: Grappling Sports (Judo, Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), Ice Hockey, Linguistics (I speak 3 languages, working on a 4th), Photography, Music Production and Recording Accomplishments: National and Collegiate Champion in Judo, Various Accolades in Music (e.g. performing at the Newport Jazz Festival), Founder of a small business Is this a respectable applicant profile? Do members of a hiring board even care if I can, for instance, speak three languages? Is it pointless information, or potentially even seen as a negative foreign influence? I know I can't compete with the likes of an Aerobatics instructor pilot or Border Patrol helicopter pilot (both real applicants I've seen) when it comes to flight time, so I'm trying to leverage my unique strengths to demonstrate the depth and breadth of my character and ability. All constructive criticism and feedback is welcome! Thanks, blueingreen

10 of the retired KC-10s were sold via a GSA auction that closed yesterday. Opening bid of $500k, and it seems like all of them were bought at $500,100. One example: 79-0434: https://gsaauctions.gov/auctions/preview/321151 Looks like all had engines included, but booms removed. Will be interesting to see where they end up.

Due process for citizens and visitors is very similar for criminal cases. But due process for deporting illegals is vastly different. And birthright citizenship for visitors (legal or illegal) is not valid. We have to defer to the writers of the 14th amendment and what they were saying. https://americanmind.org/features/the-case-against-birthright-citizenship-2/birthright-citizenship-game-on/

Those things are becoming as disposable as the F-16! What is the water equivalent of a Lawn Dart?

Here's a story relayed to me:. Iranians were sent to the US for pilot training and wore red helmets for identification purposes. One day, a couple instructors grab a couple red helmets and saddle up in a T-38. They launch and return to the T-38 pattern using an Iranian-ish accent. On the first touch and go, the IP in the front seat ducks down so the RSU sees an Iranian student solo in the back seat. The RSU freaks out and queries the "solo" who responds " I will fix.". On the next pass, the IP in the back seat ducks down so the red helmet is now in the front seat. Not sure that practical joke would be appreciated today. BTW, this was at Columbus pre-Ayatollah.

You don't have any balls unless you takeoff in the front seat and land via the back.

Indian food is WAY better, and also my favorite. Hence, I'm pulling for India.

There’s been a lot of false info and dubious claims regarding last night’s incident. That being said, this morning it’s looking like the IAF suffered at least 2-3 losses; all the crashed aircraft appear (for now) to be on the Indian side of the border. The above claim is pretty interesting if true. I didn’t know that China had exported the PL-15. Would give the Pak’s a significant BVR capability; would also explain why all the crash sites are on the Indian side. Tough for the IAF if they were using stand-off weapons inside their airspace and were still getting picked off.

No real dog in this fight, but with all of Pakistan's hypocrisy and Intel support to terrorist organizations...them taking a few Ls would not sadden me.

Seems like they are not having a good cruise.

If the 1st amendment can have limits (and all the others), so can birthright citizenship.

Or landed mistakenly on the taxiway at Balad on NVGs. I remember that tower call when we were about to land #2. Nice job guys, just taxi straight ahead to park. Doh!

I know how it sounds as a headline. I'd win over most with details. If your commanders commanders commander has a specific combat requirement and you as a non-deploying less experienced EP take a stand against the culture change, prepare to get fired. Send it to a different thread if you want more.

From a different OSINT site, someone captured the Truman Skippers reaction to this incident. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0-JA1ffd5Ms&t=10s&pp=2AEKkAIB

Did we transition to the what's wrong with the Air Force thread? This level of management definitely fits.

2 IAF losses so far reported, one by PAF and one by Pak GBAD. -
Disagree Bif; If the goal is occupying Kashmir, Pakistan for the win.
