AI and soon AGI will bring an insane amount of change to society. The kind of change that people will kill for. Edited August 25 by Biff_T Words are hard

M2 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Deadly Airstrike On Cartel Boat Signals Major Shift In U.S. Drug Interdiction Strategy The U.S. will continue to carry out lethal attacks against people belonging to drug cartels designated as narco-terrorists, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said this morning. His comments came a day after the U.S. made a deadly strike on what President Donald Trump said was a drug boat operated by the Tren de Aragua (TDA) cartel, which is closely tied to Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro. “It won’t stop with just this strike,” Hegseth told Fox News about the attack he said is a “very clear” message to the cartels. “Anyone else trafficking in those waters who we know is a designated narco-terrorist will face the same fate. It’s important to the American people to protect our homeland and protect our hemisphere.”... (Full article at title link) A lot of people sharing their opinions on this op... 2
M2 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 The Trump administration offered justifications for why it carried out a lethal strike against the drug boat instead of just interdicting it and arresting those on board. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said previous U.S. interdiction efforts in Latin America failed to stop the flow of drugs. “What will stop them is when you blow them up, when you get rid of them,” Rubio said on a visit to Mexico. Earlier in the day, Trump said he was sending a message to the cartels. “On the boat there were massive amounts of drugs,” the president told reporters in the Oval Office. “We have tapes of them speaking. There was massive amounts of drugs coming into our country to kill a lot of people, and everybody fully understands it. But you see it, you see the bags of drugs all over the boat, and they were hit. Obviously they won’t be doing it again. And I think a lot of other people won’t be doing it again. When they watch that tape, they’re going to say, ‘Let’s not do this.'” 4

fire4effect Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised that Maduro at some point gets the Soleimani Treatment depending on how the stars align. Clearly the strike was a very public message the gloves are off. That said now we should use a lot of nonpublic strikes that don't make the news if we aren't already. Out of sight out of mind for all but the targets. Strikes at sea especially leave very little evidence behind. I know semi-submersibles are used to try and evade sensors especially from above though real USN Submarines excel at tracking acoustic signatures. Of course, if you're using a semi-submersible that's Prima Facie your up to no good and are a candidate to become an artificial reef. To me our drone capability is perfect for these types of missions and has benefited from last 20 years of operations worldwide and present minimal risk to our side.

Okay? Lets just keep doing the same thing then. That's been working great. I'm not saying this is some groundbreaking 'we're going to win this war on drugs thing' but I'd say it's a much greater deterrent than the status quo Edited September 4 by uhhello 1

So we should let them operate unimpeded because they might hurt us if we resist? No, they should fear us. Every enemy should fear us. I'm tired of policy by weak dick cucks. Maximum violence is the answer to anyone seeking our harm. 3 2
bfargin Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Direct covert strikes (complete destruction and elimination) on every upper echelon Mexican drug guy’s houses, buildings, and businesses should happen immediately. 2
