February 4Feb 4 Wild. They butt fuck the entire F-35 system to get the B model fielded and then end up backing off it in the end.

February 4Feb 4 I wish they could back off completely but some Allies are committed to that model so that shit sandwich is going to get eaten no matter what Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
February 7Feb 7 Yup, I see both sides. Just my opinion but I’d buy domestic if I were them - Local industrial base, you’ll need that for the upcoming GCAP- EF is already good and getting improvements - You have F-35B in the RN and LO capabilities there if you need it- Shit is in flux with the USA & Europe, have your own stuffSent from my iPhone using TapatalkA bit late but: EF is not a good aircraft by modern standards. More expensive than a F-35 by about $30M with the ~capes of a block 40 F-16 in most regards with its mech scan radar and outdated computer. Lots of capability gap depending on the tranche and country flying it. Great BFM machine as it was designed in the 80’s and that’s about its only redeeming quality. There’s a reason only the Arab states are buying it. Sustainment is costly due to the economy of scale. It’s a jobs program, that’s the best thing about it.Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

May 8May 8 Related to the India vs Pakistan conflict https://www.twz.com/air/trump-offers-f-35-to-india IDK, seems like a lot of risk to sell to them, they are not an enemy but not exactly a friend, no slight against India but they keep themselves nonaligned for reasons so there are reasons to keep them at arms length

Quite possibly I wonder if they would use us and a hypothetical F-35 acquisition to get the Russians to give even more on their 35/57/75s
August 27Aug 27 F-35 pilot held 50-minute airborne conference call with engineers before fighter jet crashed in Alaska "An Air Force investigation blamed the crash on ice in the hydraulic lines in the nose and main landing gears of the F-35, which prevented them from deploying properly." "At that point, the F-35’s sensors indicated it was on the ground and the jet’s computer systems transitioned to “automated ground-operation mode,” the report said." "This caused the fighter jet to become “uncontrollable” because it was “operat(ing) as though it was on the ground when flying,” forcing the pilot to eject." Thanks HAL!
August 27Aug 27 I have nothing to add other than I toured the F-35 production line in Fort Worth a few weeks ago, and it's pretty cool.

August 29Aug 29 Essentially the hydraulic fluid that was used to service the struts was about 1/4 water. The dumbest of the dumb are put in charge of the tool crib which is normally responsible for the HAZMAT program that monitors the oil and hydro carts and barrels. One of the first times I've seen the direct result of putting your problem kids in the tool crib. Edited August 29Aug 29 by uhhello

I don’t always do my own brake jobs on the POV, but when I do I use 4 year old unsealed hygroscopic DOT4 in my supercar. I’m not there, and haven’t seen anything beyond what’s available to everybody else…but GMAFB.
August 31Aug 31 I don't know if it uses some special fluid but good ole 83282 fluid looked milky if it had water in it.
