  1. Checks. Buddy was notified that he was selected for the SOS instructor to ACSC assignment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Have been afsoc since 2008. It's not an easy road but it has been rewarding. In your career you can be a part of the people who say "build it and then we will come. " In afsoc you will find yourself building it and either loving it or hating it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. There is no decline here. As long as there are good dudes willing to mentor the willing and the willing accept debriefing accordingly there is no drama. I have lurked here since 2003 as a young ROTC puke, with dreams dashed of flying the a10Read my thread about IFF... to flying the b1 to now flying in afsoc I don't understand the drama here. I have received advice from CGOs as a Cadet and have been schooled by senior leaders all as a result of being affiliated with this site. I hope I'm still here in 10 years contributing. 5. This whole thread got creepy to me and if anyone posts anything more than what has already been said I'd wager to say that it's borderline OPSEC. If you want more details than what you can find on here or Wikipedia pm someone with a valid .mil email address. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The 9th bomb squadron used to have Friday name tags where everyone had batwings instead of aircrew wings. Kind of set the tone. If that wasn't enough you could always be named wham. Wso hating ass monkey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My enemy's enemy is my friend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. How long is the training to become a MX officer? Why can't the rated just do it? Why can't I go to a course, get spun up on AMU manning, processes, MICAP, etc?
  9. Why did we separate OPS and MX in the first place? Seems like the operators want to hack the mish and the maintainers want to turn the jets. All the fighting and bullshit that exists is self induced. I've spent more than my fair share of time on the phone arguing with more than a couple MOOs as to why the 2407 is a MX 2407 and not OPS. All this time spent arguing over who is to blame instead of fixing a larger problem be it the process, personnel or other.
  10. So who will win the culture war to blend/blur guard, reserve and active duty?
  11. In before the lock Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yeah, so if you are up for a RIF you are in eligible. So sign up now and at least you can get one check before they kick you out.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Define negative quality indicators? Referral OPR, UIF? If so no brainer right? At least they are offering TERA vs nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. See above non selects being informed today usually means public release the following day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Just saw a guy post on Facebook that he got passed over... So the results will probably be released tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. My guess is they want people to show their cards early. You still won't get paid until completion of initial UPT ADSC. On the other hand though if you are eligible for a RIF you are not eligible for the bonus so maybe they are giving 2004 guys a chance to apply now, and that would give AFPC a better long term idea of who they have and who they don't have. 17. I am confused. I entered active duty in May 2004, Started pilot training in June. My grad date was July of 2005. I will not have 11 years of aviation service as a pilot by the end of FY 14 nor will I have the end of my commitment. This language would seem to indicate that they want to offer the bonus again to those that didn't take????? I'm confused as all get out. Then again I've been up since 3am Clovis time. 18. Comm is one of the most messed up entities in the Air Force. Between ADPE/computers, network infrastructure and telephone control officers it is redic. AFNET has made it even worse. Have a problem with email? Contact squadron comm who will contact base comm who will contact MAJCOM who will contact AFNET. In 6 weeks maybe your issue will be resolved. 19. I think the lack of trust in the institution is overwhelming. If I were Gen Welsh I'd be making unannounced popins at the various MLRs for various boards asking the MAJCOM, NAF and WG/CCs to show their work. The second he finds shit is going contrary to his instructions is when you let the heads roll. For loss of trust in leadership. Until that happens and until it is reinforced by his/her successor we are going to have this same problem. For crying out loud, the undersecretary of the Air Force has a bachelors only. So, l can virtually run this organization with only a BS/BA but in order to qualify to be an ADO I have to have a masters degree? Finally, there are some fields that need officers with masters degrees before Colonel. For once and for all, divide the LAF into line (operators) and restricted line (non operators) And possibly another category for space guys and other highly technical AFSCs that aren't already JAG or BSC/Med Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Why can't the Air Force call Jon Taffer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. So if we bail them out can we get a SOFA and more favorable diplomatic clnce? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Wow sounds like said individual probably had a 24oz supersize me beer along with dinner and got more than he bargained for. This is why I have one drink outside my house... Even if I get absolutely wasted at a bar and I call a cab to drive me home and said cab driver hits a pedestrian or another vehicle along the way it will still be my fault... If I were responsible enough to call a cab and so irresponsible to have more than the legal amount it would still be an ARI. I'm still waiting to hear this exact scenario play out. Mark my words if it hasn't happened it will. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Well they just released new guidance that a PFT failure will result in a referral report which will inevitably drive more people to wear blues as punishment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Has everyone moved away from the MC designation? Mission Copilot? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. The reduction in end strength. Earlier guidance was to get to end strength over two rounds over FY 14 and 15. You mentioned that force management programs will run until 2018, so we are either operating over FY 15 end strength until 2018 Or we are kicking the can down the road for several more years which is not what senior leadership intended. Or are we spending FY 16,17 and 18 separation Pay / TERA now in this years bill ? Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
