  1. To those who toil in anonymity especially the NCOs. What you do matters.

  3. If you are absolutely sure this is what you were put on this earth to do, have you considered active duty? Or heavy units? Or enlisting in an ANG unit to gain experience and get to know the squadron better? You're self-selecting to the most difficult group to be hired into and you're already fighting an uphill battle compared to many of your fellow applicants. Having a PPL is 100% a gateway because the Guard loses the pilot slot if you wash out of UPT. They can afford to be picky with who they select, and they should be. If you wash out they don't get a chance to fill your slot with an alternate, that money is gone. Think about this from the SQ/CC point of view, are you willing to wager the one or two slots per year you get on someone with zero flight time? Especially when you're getting 100-200 applicants per year for each pilot slot, many of whom have 90s across the board on AFOQT/TBAS, great GPAs, and a PPL in addition to a good work ethic? Active duty is where the Air Force can afford to take chances on people because they own you and can send you down another career path if you don't make it. The Guard doesn't have that luxury. If you want to bump your chances with guard fighter units, find a way to make the PPL happen.

  4. The pilots that got the early retirement were the beneficiaries of this. I've yet to meet one that regrets doing it.

  5. LOAC says you aren’t supposed to murder wounded prisoners. I notice some of the Russian victims are zip tied. There have been a lot of those videos— you can find Ukrainians killing tied up Russians with knives fairly easily. It’s terrible. War is terrible, and in this case neither side is innocent of wrong doing. That said, this was a war by Russian choice and for Ukrainian survival. If Russia invaded Florida and I was running around with a piecemeal group of volunteers while every other nation sat around watching atrocities inflicted on my family…. Well I have some bad news for the LOAC office.

  6. So the so called news agencies that banded together to suppress and discredit the Hunter Biden Laptop story have now admitted it is a real story and not "Russian Propaganda." This week it was reported the investigation has heated up and Hunter is likely to be indicted soon. As of this morning it was reported the panel (I am assuming grand jury), asked "who is the big guy." Will be interesting to see what comes of this and how the die hard liberals on here will react.

  7. Anecdotes speaking to the organization of their withdrawals. This was taken along the Sumy axis after 4th Guards got its ass handed too it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  8. Would not have predicted this prior to Feb 24. "Ukraine has won the Battle of Kyiv". Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, April 3 | Institute for the Study of War (understandingwar.org) Got to give a shout out to any California and Florida (and any others) Guardsman who participated in the SPP and other events through the years and up until the invasion. CHEERS!

  9. I just hope I can get some good, reliable information on Naval aviation from this upcoming documentary. Definitely don’t want to just go enjoy myself and get nostalgic.

  10. What brabus said. As a wise man once said: "Never pass on the opportunity to instruct"

  11. As an IP, you’re always instructing/viewing performance through an IP lens, regardless if you’re writing a grade sheet that day. You should do the same as an evaluator, meaning you know how an individual is doing overall when they get to an eval. So, take the big pic approach and don’t be the douche who downgrades a guy on a mistake he just happened to make that specific flight. If you can’t take the big pic/is-it-a-trend approach, you’re a shitty SEFE. I hope this helps a young SEFE in the future be a good one. To answer the original question, I’ve seen one Q3 and one Q2 in my entire fighter career…both are patches after the fact and one is a graduated SQ/CC. Downgrades happen occasionally, but are fairly rare.

  12. I don't think complaining about a biased media helps but I'm going to keep complaining anyway. Over the last 4-5 years, Think of the very long list of "bombshells," "the walls are closing in," and "the beginning of the end" declarations based on "anonymous," "off the record," or "sources inside say" information that were total fabrications yet the media slobbered over those stories endlessly. No facts, no problem. Yet, any story that contains factual credible information that might shed light on the corrupt dealings of their own party (yes, most media works for the democrat party) gets ignored.

  13. When the president of the United States goes off script and immediately has to be corrected via his own White House AND Secretary of State we have issues. “brilliant 4D chess move” LOL ok dude. Like the “most successful” AFG withdraw! You’re living in democratic fantasy land this administration is so inept.

  14. The guy who taught me to fly tailwheel was a WW2 tank driver. Dude never talked about his time over there, and as much as I wanted to hear his story, I never brought it up. He did have a shadow box hanging in the hangar, dude had 2 Silver Stars, 2 Bronze Stars w/V device and a Purple Heart. Most humble and unassuming dude I've ever met. I can't even imagine what he saw/experienced, what a generation!
