What Are My Chances?

Looking for a pilot slot? Post your "what are my chances?" questions here: AFOQT, BAT, PCSM, ANG and AFRES Slots, *waivers* + more - please include your test scores, GPA, etc...

  1. Just wanted to get some feedback on chances for a pilot slot or CSO slot with the Reserves or ANG with the scores that I have, or if I should retake the AFOQT and get some flight hours. AFOQT Score P:54/Nav:74/AA:48/V:68/Q:32 B.A. in History GPA: 3.28 A little background on the total person, because I understand those scores are most likely lower than the average, I was a Division I swimmer and was captain my senior year. In addition I worked very closely with the Athletic Department and was a representative on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee as well as the Intercollegiate Athletic Board. I also coached swimming at the Club, High School, and C…

So, I gave the officer process a try back in 2016 and didn't get selected. My AFOQT scores were pretty bad 30s-50s. PCSM was a 10. I really didn't take the test as seriously as I should've. GPA wasn't great either, 2.6. (General Studies) Now, I've enlisted and leave for BMT on May 2nd. I'd still like to give like to give the officer process another shot. I'm going for pilot or CSO. My main concern however, is my age. I'm 25, so it doesn't look like I'll have too much more time to try and get selected." My current plans are to get a PPL once I'm in, and take a few courses towards my masters to raise my GPA. I'll also study harder and retake the AFOQT, but I'm…

As someone who really wants to joint the fighter community, how the hell does one get into ENJJPT? I've asked IPs from EN tails, my cadre, former eagle and viper drivers and the best answer I have gotten is a big fat no ing clue. Some say GPA some say DG at field training, Commander's ranking, PCSM, flight hours, the whole nine. I have yet to get a solid answer and it's been chewing me up inside. My current scores are 89 Pilot 85 Nav 3.2 GPA Aerospace Engineering Haven't taken TBAS yet so no PCSM. What y'all got for me? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

After my TBAS and AFOQT, I ended up with a 93 Pilot, 75 NAV and 52 PCSM with 0 flight hours. 200+ Hours puts me at 90. I have 2 now so Im bumped to a 57, but it seems like the newer format really focuses on flight hours. I'm young so theres a decent chance I'll see 200 hours before im too old to apply for boards. However, does anyone have a decent understanding on how the scoring works? Would it really be worth it to go back and take the TBAS again? Any input is appreciated.

  9. Basically the title. Over a year ago I was prescribed a anxiety medication after a death in the family and my 7 year relationship breaking off. I only used it for less than 3 months, and I have a records stating that I'm in perfectly clean mental health now and it was just that time period...does anyone know if this prevents me from becoming a pilot? Thanks.

I need some realistic advice. I'm 26, and my College GPA matches that (2.6). Nothing I can do about that. Short explaination: I worked several jobs/owned a business (wedding photography) and plain just didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. I haven't taken the AFOQT yet (will in May), but I did take the ASTB (Active Duty US Navy Selection Test; for those unfamiliar), and got the "minimum" scores needed to move forward with the process. My real goal is the ANG or AFR, one of the points with taking the ASTB was to get Military testing experience (however, I am still hoping to get picked up for Navy Active Duty). In speaking with an USAF Officer recruiter, he sai…

Right, so here are my numbers, AFOQT: 96/89/76/95/49 PCSM: 93 GPA: 2.82 Bachelor of Applied Science: Technology and Management. All my bachelor's classes were taken online while I was working on my parent's farm. I also have an associate's in professional aviation with a GPA of 3.2 if that means anything. Flight Experience: 299.2 hours. Private, multi, instrument, commercial, with high horsepower and complex endorsements. I'm also enlisted (E-3) with the unit I'm applying at. I work as an Airfield Manager in the OPS department, so I know the majority of the pilots on a friendly basis.

  13. AFOQT: Pilot (94), Nav (77), Acad Aptitude (54), Verb (70), Quantitative (41) PCSM: 94 I am already a rated military pilot, and am looking to go blue. I am applying for an Air National Guard unit and just gathering all my paperwork up for their application packet. How do my numbers look after my first run of everything....keep in mind...I haven't been in college since 2008 which is probably why some scores were not to great.

Hey everyone, new here but I've been lurking for a little bit. Just wanted to get some opinions on my application that I just submitted and what I could work on if I'm not selected. Some details about me... I graduated with a 3.36 GPA in mechanical engineering, but my engineering GPA is 3.81. I have a lot of flight hours, 87 or so, and will have my PPL in the next two weeks (my club makes me take a mock checkride before the real deal and the mock one is this Monday.) My AFOQT scores are 95/92/87/65/99 which puts my PCSM at 86. I have a lot of leadership experience from internships, class projects, and even management and team leader positions in the work force. I did…

  15. Hello All, I am new to the board. I have just applied for OTS (as a civilian) for the upcoming rated board. (Posting for S/O) Hello! "I have posted a few months ago about my chances to getting selected for a pilot slot in the rated boards in February. My question now is this: My recruiter called me and told me my commander that I interviewed with put me as top of my class that is going for the same boards. While I am elated, I want to know how much this is going to help my chances to get into the boards? Does this have a lot of pull or is it just a formality? I will attach my last post so you can see my test scores and background." 24 Years old. My degree is a BA in Theology, I have a 3.6 GPA. I have years of experience in managing positions with numerous people u…

I'm applying for this years active duty board, which meets late January. What I'm wondering is, I have over 100 hours with a pcsm of 89, but with the cut off date I wasn't able to get a ppl. That's literally my next step. Does anyone know if the board looks more at flight hours then an actual ppl; and will not having a ppl hurt my chances? Curious what your thoughts are, thanks. 18. ATTN: Experts and Professionals that know everything about AD Rated Boards! (Posting for S/O)Here is my personal rundown: I am a non-tech major with a 3.6 GPA, I made a 78 on my Pilot and an 85 on my Nav. All of my AFOQT Scores are a 78/85/57/37/23. I took my TBAS Friday and made a 40 for my PCSM with no flight hours. I really am confused about how I made a 40 or how it is scaled because I thought I only missed 10 or less. I have a lot of leadership experience, community service, managing positions, etc. I am worried that my PCSM is going to ruin my chances despite the other scores and my personal packet. I really don't know if I would even be able to get en…

Hello everyone, I'm submitting an application for the upcoming AD rated board. I've asked my recruiter what her thoughts are on my standing, but more opinions would be nice. 27 years old, Bachelors of Journalism from University of Oregon - 3.42 GPA PCSM - 85; Pilot - 97; Nav - 97; ABM - 96 (Don't have copy of other scores, I think they're similar) Flight Hours - 12 I don't have much leadership experience on my resume, which I think is my biggest downfall. I've done a lot of volunteering with youth, through after school programs, summer camps, and GED tutoring, but nothing very recent. I've been looking at applying to ANG units as well - I liv…

  20. My dad was a KC-135 nav and I've always dreamed of flying. I've fluctuated in seriousness but now that I'm a year away from graduating,(Dec 2017) I've decided to go all in for it. Currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science. Cumulative GPA: 3.56, likely to be a 3.60 or higher at the end of this semester, if I don't bomb any finals I'll have all A's this semester. Hello all, I'm in my last year of college and I'm looking to become a military pilot. Here's some personal information. Age: 22 I currently fly for a regional airline on the CRJ200, I have around 3,000 hours of flight time. Current GPA is 3.69. This semester I should get a 4.0 and I'm estimating I will graduate with a high 3.7. I don't care about base or aircraft assignments, and I'm interested in the guard/reserve. My only medical condition is my vision. It's currently -2.25/-2.50. Otherwise I've held a FAA 1st class medical for years. Just began studying for the AFOQT. Aiming to take it mid December early January. I h…

(After I transfer to the state school, I hope to join the Club Teams for both roller and ice). I worked in a Tire Change/Hot Rod/Off Road shop. 23. Hello All, I know there have been a lot of threads like it, but I think I have a few questions that make this post stand out. First of all, here are some basic facts about me: Gender: Male Age: 24 Degree: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering GPA: 3.2 Flight Time: 1 Hour (I plan on getting more) Fitness Level: Active, slim build. It has been my dream since I was younger to be a pilot in the USAF. During my freshman year of college, I was in AFROTC. After freshman year I dropped AFROTC due to it affecting my grades in engineering, and me doubting my chances of getting a pilot slot due to medical conditions. I regret…

  25. Hey y'all! my name is Daniel and I'm a Marine Corps veteran currently working on a degree in aerospace at Middle Tennessee State University. Upon graduation I will have the following certificates: Commercial, Multi-Engine Airplane-Land with Instrument Rating as well as CFI/CFII/MEI with around 750-1000 flight hours. I'm looking at doing Air Force Reserve or the Air Guard. I'm not really interested in active duty anymore but I'll do it if I have to. I'm about 5'10, pretty fit with semi-good fitness scores (getting out made me a little lazy) So what are my chances? and what is the first step, and the process, that I need to go throug…
