  1. This. If bases have open houses and meet and greets, then show up and chat with the squadron. You both get a feel for each other. It also really helps if you already know someone in the unit...
  2. A similar situation happened to a friend of mine who is a current CSO. He was prescribed adderall during college and was later selected for OTS by telling them he didnt need it anymore. I believe he proved it by showing them when he got off the meds he was able to finish schooling and perform very well in his future job (all while off the meds). So it has been done before....
  3. Unfortunately I dont have any knowledge on ENJJPT from the ROTC side, only OTS and AD. I am sure others on here do and could explain the process for being selected from an ROTC standpoint.
  4. Yes, while in OTS all pilot applicants will have a face to face interview with the board and from that they determine 1 maybe 2 applicants to go to ENJJPT. From my OTS board one guy was a former nfl football player with lots of flight time and the other was a scientist at the CERN labratory. Its not one thing, but normally being a stud in all things... at least from the guys I have seen go. DG from OTS and then DG in their CSO/ABM training with lots of flight hours and ratings. I am sure that doesnt mean all who go to ENJJPT are like that, but the guys I have seen go fit this to the T. Are you Active Duty now or going through OTS/ROTC?
  5. It would seem that both PPL (or higher ratings) and a high PCSM score were 2 major factors for the board, along with being a well rounded applicant. I know a great dude who had 1000+ hrs in his airframe, killer strats and had his PPL but wasn't selected this year... maybe due to his lowish PCSM score. Have you tried to retake the TBAS to boost your PCSM score? Best of luck to you if you are trying again.
  6. Looks promising, keep us informed!
  7. I got picked up with a below 3.0 GPA for OTS. Took me 3 boards before I was selected. What helped was work experience and above average/high PCSM score and PPL. Like it was said above, don't let them make the decision for you. Give it your all and try and try again. You have met the requirements to apply, so go for it (3 times if you have too!) Good Luck!
  8. Adding to this, additional flight hours helps to improve your PCSM score. If you havent already taken the TBAS to recieve your PCSM score, find a friend with a flight simulator to work with feet/hand and eye coordination to help prepare for it. If you are working, save a little money on the side and try and fly once a week. Or just go hang out at a local airport FBO and meet people. Never know who you will meet who can help you achieve your goals...
