  1. Past hour
  2. I thought my sarcasm was evident. Apparently not 🙂
  3. Plus they’re being targeted with something designed to specifically exploit the weakest part of the armor using a technology that is evolving remarkably quickly. Add in the symbolism of taking out “America’s flagship” oldest model.
  4. Considering the unbiased source and their historic proven track record of finding and then publishing all the details of the stories they cover, I'm sure CNN has gotten a complete picture of what's going on there. I mean, they obviously talked to at least one tank crew, so surely they've got a circumspect view. //Sarcasm - off// I was shadowed by two CNN crews for a day, once in Iraq, once in Afghanistan, against my will while flying C-130's with multiple stops in theater. My crew and I outright refused to talk to them. Both of those CNN teams published articles that were completely fabricated and included exaggerations of danger encountered and even went so far as to quote my crews and their supposed negative opinions of their experiences in combat. I had several other crews report similar events with both CNN and Fox reporters. Never trust a single word of their field reporting that you can't corroborate from a third party source. Beyond that, I've had several other events with CNN reporters. They lie outright. CNN and it's reporters have no integrity and they exist solely to push whatever agenda they choose that day. I have no doubt that tanks are bullet magnets. They're kinda supposed to be. Modern combat is evolving fast, and I have sincere doubts that Ukrainian tank crews are able to keep up. Enthusiasm can only get you so far. Tactical proficiency is mandatory. They're definitely behind the power curve right now.
  5. I remember watching Harriers doing partial down vectored takeoffs routinely at Kandahar as well. Always puzzled me as the airfield should have been plenty long enough. I would speculate it's a procedural thing.
  6. Today
  7. The point is not a conviction, or jail time, or anything really meaningful; those are all just talking points to froth up the base. From the outset this was clearly a straw case for a kangaroo court, eminently appealable. …but it is on the eve of the election. And THAT is the whole point.
  8. Yeah, from my limited knowlege on the courts, those instructions can't seem legit.
  9. Wonder if he took off that way or was trying to land that way (after some T/O issue) guess we'll have to wait... In either case I don't get it. I've seen a few F-35Bs depart various airfields in person (to include ABQ) and their penchant for doing VSTOL takeoffs never make sense to me. Especially at a high/hot airport such as ABQ, even with 2x 10,000+ runways. Curious if it is a TOLD thing or just preference.
  10. Might have posted before but couldn't find it. Anyway, an update is due: Prior service hired by a reserve unit: AFOQT/TBAS: 2021 then a retake in 2022. Rushed 5 different bases, approximately 9 different squadrons. Interview/ board with unit: March 2023 Hiring notification: March 2023 AFRC board: May 2024 FC1: June 2024 OTS: ? UPT: ? FTU: ?
  11. Russia/Ukraine war pushing the boundaries on modern warfare yet again. Tanks are apparently being targeted. https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/29/europe/ukraine-war-us-tanks-intl/index.html
  12. You can hate Trump, but if you believe is true justice, this should bother you. Not only did they have this trial in a place where its citizens are overwhelmingly against Trump politically, but the judge is clearly biased against the defendant, and the charges are being twisted to say, “well, it would be a misdemeanor with expired statutory of limitations but now how he did it somehow makes it a felony”…and for the final act, the judge now tells the jury that they don’t have to all agree on what the same crime is/was committed for there to be a conviction. Not even to mention that the media keeps calling this a “hush money to a porn star case”, which is not illegal.
  13. No guard or reserve. They still had to do the traditional or T-1 sim but some guard/reserve folks were able to do XPW.
  14. Great work Huggy...lookin' like a real A-37 now:
  15. I can't believe they found him. Those boats don't stop on a dime.
  16. @stlpilot11 was this reserve/guard too? Any word on if its coming back? I'm headed that way soon
  17. We have the option of getting it ourselves or someone from Fort Worth delivering.
  18. Somewhere a GFR is crapping his or her pants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It was the only way to keep the Top Gun franchise with the single-seat-only F-35.
  20. I still don’t understand the Navy/Marine logic behind the C/D and E/F model Hornets. Honestly seemed like a way to keep NFOs employed following the retirement of the F-14, A-6 and S-3.
  21. I’m sure he was. “A really good man, just starting to turn his life around” and the family will be suing the cruise line
  22. News is saying it was a tail on its way from factory to be delivered and it was a contractor pilot. We always picked up our hercs from the factory. Any pointy nose guys care to weigh in?
