It’s not irrelevant since it consistently shows she never prosecuted at the federal level. Here’s a former AUSA discussing her lack of federal prosecutorial experience is showing as AG. Warning though, you’ll have to use your critical thinking skills. https://open.substack.com/pub/staytuned/p/pam-bondi-trumps-clueless-heat-shield?r=58l99b&utm_medium=ios

https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/colombian-president-alleged-drug-boat-from-his-country-white-house-baseless/ Sounds like the bad guys are trying a PR campaign to help ease the pressure. I doubt anyone on the boats were actually innocent.

Disagree. We've had plenty of defense secretaries with zero military experience/only bureaucratic experience, and they weren't all idiots. The military is the primary form of defense, yet they'd never been in the military and some did fine. Bondi was actually an AG in Florida, so her not being a US attorney seems irrelevant. You know, kinda like Obama was a community organizer before he was a senator. What I'm saying is, disagree with her politics all you want, just come up with a less stupid analogy.

DOJ dropped the ball on not having a perp walk for Comey. Was satisfying seeing the mugshot. Now, let's see this hippo get perped walked and a mugshot. New York Atty. Gen. Letitia James indicted on fraud charge, source says

Well that response doesn't make any sense at all.

I suppose it's easy to deploy a bunch of NG when you don't have to pay em. I'm sure they're happy, believe in the mission, and fully support this fine use of military capability. It probably ranks right up there with disaster relief. Or, let em work their civilian job so they can still pay their bills, etc. Hmmm. Unless that's a civil service job on furlough. I wonder if they can do Door Dash in Humvee.

I get your point, but I see a big difference between an in-state deployment with the consent of your governor on an international border and going out of state. The local population in Illinois may not be very supportive of another state's troops. It's starting to sound almost like a COIN fight in the US. I'm sure a lot of the targets of ICE raids have popped smoke and moved somewhere else while the heat is on in Chicago. Like a game of whack-a-mole. Damn where have I seen this before? 🤦♂️

Shot down by an unmanned boat? That's a new wrinkle.

Now Denmark is saying the drones were just ordinary aircraft flying over the airport! I guess no one bothered to ask the tower or ATC?

The fact Steven Miller is 39 is fucking wild.

Someone to be AG who has never served as a US Attorney...ever. That's like hiring a regional airline pilot to run one of the majors.

bondi has been a huge disappointment.

"...Pres has absolute plenary authority...*reboot*," Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy.

I'm sure Biff-T will call 'dibs' on her; but until she repeals the NFA and CGA, she's been a lame duck AG!
-
I wasn't sure what people saw in her when she was nominated, and I haven't seen much from her to change my opinion. She's pretty, and I suspect that was enough for Trump 🤣😂

i stand corrected and will take the L for Memphis. break break thoughts on Bondi-Durbin discussion? Durbin: Who gave the order to flag records related to President Trump? (in context of Epstein files) Bondi: I'm not going to discuss anything about that with you, Senator.

I can't speak for any other states, but I do have good insight into the Texas Military Department and the TAG, and can attest this deployment will have practically zero impact on servicemember's civilian employment here. I've had people deployed for Operation LONE STAR - BORDER SURGE for four years, and all are successfully returning to their jobs. If it is a cause Texans believe in, they will support it to their dying breathe! It's our in our culture, history and mindset!

Just to clarify, these are STATES that have Constitutional Carry and yes, I do believe exercising one's God-given right to self-defense reduces crime rates! But are the mayors the cause of crime, or is it simply that people who vote for red candidates then to be the same ones who commit the crimes? 2/3rds of the 100 largest U.S. cities have Democratic mayors, and urban areas consistently have the highest crime rates, both violent and property-related, over suburban/rural areas. So, while there is a political tie here, it's not the one driving the need for increased security. By the way, both Dallas and Fort Worth (they are two separate cities!) have Republican mayors! Eric Johnson of Dallas serves a population of 1.3M, and Mattie Parker of Fort Worth around 956,000. Ironically, Johnson switched from Democrat to Republican in 2023! I was up in the DFW/Arlington area in late June/early July, and while not a garden spot, the law and order there seemed far more effective than what I experienced in Baltimore last month!

Lot of nuance on this issue. There was a report of a father who was admittedly in the US illegally who was arrested by ICE who's sons who are US citizens were all serving in the Marines. Father of Marine veteran released after being beaten and arrested by ICE agents . as an example. As for recruiting and retention we are only 6 months into this, so I see it depending a lot on what happens going forward. Worst case is a Kent State scenario. Longest pole in the tent is something all in the military understand is sustainably and logistics. Side note is this is why I like those with a military background to serve in government because politicians often make all kinds of promises with no clue how to make a plan work in the real world. 300 Guardsmen for 60 days? I can't say what long term effects will be. How long can they be away from their civilian jobs before they get surly? We all ask as taxpayers how much are we willing to spend long term. Just scratching the surface. I admit the sight of US military policing our streets provoke a visceral reaction on my part and what's to stop a Democratic Administration from doing the same thing in the future?
