  5. Cruz, not Crus; but we would have accepted "Cruiser" as well! At this point I think the R's best bet would be a Rubio/DeSantis ticket if they could make that happen! Trump needs to be marginalized if there is any chance of a Red recovery in 2028! The mid-terms have proven he is not the demigod he thinks he is! As for Texas, Tuesday was a bit of a shock but not surprising with all the immigration (i.e., Mexico, California, etc.) that has been going on here for the past decade. I wasn't a fan of putting Paxton up (too much luggage), and the Lt Governor Dan Patrick was too far off the reservation. Abbott did great things for the state and I thought he'd survive, but the border efforts during the Biden years and supporting ICE did him in. I guess he can now join this crowd!
  6. The rumblings begin. Rubio might resign and pregame a presidential run. Honestly, if Vance wants to stand a chance, he probably has to oppose Trump to the point of getting fired, but he won't. DeSantis is about to become a Mr in Jan, so I expect he'll play. With TX singing Blue Bayou like a gaggle of drunk woo girls at at bachelorette party high on gummies, Adderall, and White Claws, Crus is sitting very alone at a back wall table stirring his melted ice brown water with his swizzle stick, probably thinking, fuck it, lets play, and he forms a P-Run committee. The key will be who gets Elon's money without the vitriol that comes with getting Elon's money. I'm expecting a crowded field come primary season. Meanwhile (in a Frank Caliente voice), the Dems will be too busy with frying Trump et al, that they forget that the next election is the next election. Like last time, they'll shrug, do it live (Ds suck at planning), and force another tarded pick on the people. "You will vote for Kamala and like it!!" I predict a Republican President in 2028.

My Prediction: Impeached Trump Impeach Hegseth Massive cuts of aid to Israel Cuts to defense budget Defund/Abolish ICE Push numerous nationalized Healthcare bills to POTUS to Veto Sanctuary for illegals Gun control legislation ZERO economic policies And...right on cue...Rubio rumored to exit Trump administration to set up possible 2028 White House bid
  8. I’ll take one
  9. Requirements seems like part of the puzzle. Looks like when Boeing bowed out, they cited an inability to meet the qualification requirements for the engine. Don't quite understand the background there, but text copied in below. The T-7A, which was cleared for low-rate initial production in May, is outfitted with the F404 engine. But meeting the engine qualification requirements the Navy is seeking for the UJTS would mean long-cycle development, and would hamper Boeing’s ability to quickly reach initial operational capability, the spokesperson said. Bottom line though, like anything, I'm sure it boils down to money. Lockheed and Boeing don't want to sign up to do the work for the price that the Navy has offered.

I thought the Dems just said they’re for cheap gas?

As others have said the DNC is going to flop right back to extreme partisan policy efforts...the game continues.
  12. That is the part that puzzles me too. When several experienced bidders walk away from the same program, it usually says more about the requirements than about the companies.
  13. Have you graduated or still in training?
  14. That might be, rebidding with changed pricing and requirements to meet scrutiny, it surprised me (SNC deciding to punch out) as they were offering actual FCLP capabilities and meet the basic requirements. Seemed a strong case for that jet but apparently there’s some turd in this punch bowl that only the M-346N can stomach… I see the optics issue with the family relationship (distant) with the Yak but I think that’s manageable, it’s an Italian design.

I think the attempt to register pistol braces and its effective non-compliance is a good example of how it will go. I don't see anything getting past a presidential veto for 2 years
  16. Wonder what is spooking all the companies out of this bid? Shouldn't that be a red flag?

  18. MARSHA Blackburn, not Martha. Rubio has proven his metal and found a way to navigate the Trump bombastic comments by sticking to policy. I think he has been great as SECSTATE and it rounded out his resume. Proven Senator with superb foreign policy experience. It will come down to the grip Trump has on the GOP and the way the voters walked away from him it will be easier for the party leadership to ignore Trump and push JD aside.
  19. Boeing and Lockheed dropped out. Even newcomer Sierra Nevada dropped out. Now, the only entrant left is the M-346N, which traces it's origins to the Russian Yakovlev design bureau's Yak-130. I would be surprised to see the US Navy buy an aircraft with any kind of Russian lineage, regardless of how faint. About as likely as awarding the Air Force One contract to Airbus. I speculate we'll see this entire acquisition program overhauled so as to bring the other contenders back in. I assume by somehow making it more financially enticing to the different players, particularly Boeing and Lockheed.
  20. Hear me out: Rubio/AOC ticket, good governance and amazing memes. Seriously though, if the country wants to win, why can’t we couple a good conservative president with a moderate D?
  21. I love vance coming out today and acknowledging the iran war was a mistake and drove many voters against the GOP dude you had a responsibility to be saying this before we attacked iran. wtf. vance was against attacking iran. make your objection known by resigning.
  22. I say let Pete think thats the plan. Then pull the rug so he can be a creatine salesman. Next, Vance is a fuckin clown idiot. Rubio or a solid R gov stand the best chance. And as a good resume bullet, Rubio has navigated the Trump waters, hasn't been marginalized, fired, or joined the asylum.
  23. Rumor is Martha Blackburn, who just won as Tennessee’s governor, is going to appoint Hegseth to her Senate seat. Trump has been rumored wanting to fire him and this gives Hegseth a soft landing and allows him to avoid impeachment.

More worrisome is the new Congress not only re-invoking the tax but indexing it to inflation, which would be roughly $4,700-4,900 in 2026 dollars!! The initial $200 tax's "real value" has fallen by about 95-96% since 1934 due to inflation. That is why legal scholars argue the NFA has evolved from a substantial tax-and-registration scheme into primarily a registration and regulatory system!
  25. Concur, if the Republicans want a chance, they need to push Rubio to the front of the line. Vance won't win it in 2028! They have two years to figure that out, will they learn from their mistakes?
