  2. @HeloDude confirm this fits within your guideline of not making "every post political"? can you elaborate on the political allowances in non-political threads so I can comply in the future? 🙏
  3. Friendly reminder the this thread was started to NOT be political.
  4. Careful, he'll accuse you of beating his wife or something; my TDS is making it hard to keep up. 🤷‍♂️

  7. Thank you for the insight, yes that is what I've heard regarding the F-35 as well. That is the platform I'll be applying to mostly for these ANG units. A bit presumptuous of me to suppose I'll be selected anyway, I think these guys get like 300 apps per slot. I'll apply though, I've yet to meet a fighter who said it wasn't worth it.
  8. Interesting, many thanks for your thorough reply. That's a good point and one I've been considering too; knowing my luck I'll turn away from fighters just to get rear ended by some bozo on the way to my office job on my 34th birthday and develop neck issues anyway. You would think they'd have developed a lighter helmet and more reclined seat for the F-35s by now, though I get they pack a ton of tech in that helmet. You reckon you have some breathing room to be strategic with your neck positioning during BFM to avoid the check 6 axial shear? I figured they pick that stuff apart during debriefs. Definitely would agree with ya that the F-35 would be tremendously disadvantaged in air to air against the F-15 or 16. Didn't realize that was a debate, lol
  9. This was for your douche comment in the airline thread. But if you want to keep being a jerk, I’m happy to moderate you indefinitely—your call.
  10. hit a little too close to home, eh? 😂
  11. Concur Gulfstream also has a military variants ready if that could grease the skids further (domestic supplier) https://www.gulfstream.com/en/aircraft/special-missions/ I’m surprised this idea of smaller manned HVAA platforms for C2, EA, ISR, AR, etc… has not taken hold and the AF shifting that way. Unmanned and space based eventually but large cabin sized biz jet based systems are the low risk, capabilities TODAY to get to the next stage. I might see the need for some manned large (transport category platform) multi mission platforms but for strategic patrol / monitoring missions. But it would need to do it all, active and passive collection, over very long ranges, if it made sense.
  12. And yet we’re still pushing for that massive waste of money E-7. The concept of traditional large, manned C2 platforms has hit zero utility. And I mean it - zero. If there’s still a place for WDs and ABMs, it’s parsed out to other assets for specific scenarios (a couple in the back of a 46, MC-130, G6, etc.)

This reminds me of what my grandaddy talked about. The Army made fun of the new Air Force and their uniforms. He went AF.
  15. I can tell you've never been coon hunting
  16. Yup One more example of the 6500 already having types for missions we need https://theaviationist.com/2025/09/30/kai-rokaf-electronic-warfare-aircraft-program/ All the work has been done https://bombardier.com/en/defense/virtual-showroom Disclaimer: I own 0.0 shares of Bombardier

  18. arg you're asking a legitimate question to a dude who 95% of the time engages in nothing other than partisan reddit level quips. In general he's just not someone who engages in good faith discussions, although these days thats become par for the course on base ops regardless of affiliation
  19. But not as cool as Duran Duran.
  20. Oh, stop it. We turned it all around with the resoundingly successful T-7 acquisition.
  21. Not entirely true. I had a type rating added with just a Form 8. Met the FSDO, brought my plastic card, showed him the Form 8 and went on my way. If memory serves me, folks like experimental test pilots can get ratings added with at least 10 hours PIC, but that I’m less sure of. Memory on that reg is hazy. Here’s the mil equivalent list.
  22. Already have an AWACS version Skies MagBombardier Defense receives firm order for two Global 650...The Global 6500 aircraft has a top speed of Mach 0.90 and a maximum range of 6,600 nautical miles (12,223 kilometres).I swear the solutions are out there to so many problems, already done, but our FUBAR acquisitions process as represented here just makes it impossible unless the right districts get the right contracts…
  23. Concur Unmanned air breathing and space based is the eventual solution but if king for a day I’d like a manned / unmanned team now, RQ- something plus the E-11 or something more ambitious, bigger manned jet maybe with links and active sensors, BACN plus AWACS. There’s an opportunity to coalesce around one manned platform type to get a lot of what we need, the Global 6500, could be that. BACN, AWACS, Medevac, Tactical Tanker, but I digress…. It’s also the platform the Army is using for it’s HADES jet, this could be one of the few joint platforms that could satisfy two chicks / services at the same time Two jets at the same time….
  24. my brother in christ: our secretary of HHS pulled his car over to cut the penis off a roadkill raccoon; the bar is on the floor.
  25. Nah. Young men should not be held to the standard of old men. If it's empty, he's good.

Yep, actually saw them for sale at Lackland Clothing Sales on Thursday, looks like something from an 80s Duran Duran video!!
  27. Super old man off! The challenge: who’s laid up on the couch longer after getting out of bed “the wrong way” (“right way” still not fully determined).
  28. 2028…idiots. The concept/long term plan is fine, but the timing is impossible, assuming anyone gives a shit about not losing significant capabilities for years.
