di1630 Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 I did 20+ yrs AD, loved it so much I joined the reserves but also got in with an airline. Knowing what I do now of reserves and airlines, I’d never tell a kid it’s smart to take the bonus. Individual circumstances may vary but overall, run from AD.Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app 1 1
Homestar Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Interesting changes are coming for the AvB, some of which will be worthwhile and others not. BL: if you like your job when the bonus comes around it's a tough decision. It just seems that so many don't like the job they're in at that point.

I think that was actually part of it. Something like you get an extra year with BOP but if they can’t make that happen, they take the year off.
hindsight2020 Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Military "BOP" lol. ...and my exwife told me she loved me too. 😄 4 4

SurelySerious Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 No, it’s better than that. The ADSCs won’t run concurrently. Concurrent sentences was about the only upside to the program.

Duck Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Any idea on what the ANG is going to do? Will it be similar and when do they typically release it?Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

It’s nothing compared to the total loss of earnings they’ll experience if they delay getting out. Need at least $100k to be in the ballpark. Now for those who are going to stay in anyways, fuck yeah you should grab that money. 1

Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app The ANG will offer the tiered approach, and is shooting for $50k/yr for one of the higher commitment periods (maybe 4+ years?) That is not approved yet to my knowledge. So checks in the mail. Probably will come out within the next 60 days.
