Haven't seen the 60 minutes segment. While I may be cynical and jaded, it seems reasonable that the AF would dangle a carrot in front of an O-6 to get him to give some good press.

He's an O-6 WSO. Being in a US propaganda is pretty much the pinnacle of his career, right?

Most jokes aside, a WSO O-6 shot down in combat surviving a chute malfunction and serious injuries behind enemy lines....yeah, that's Bat-21 territory right there. He should be able to live off the book deal, interviews and royalties for at least a decade...rightly so. Dude earned it!
