Amazing...and guys like this are running our country.

After being asked why the Feds aren't securing our border and thousands pour through each year, he answers:

"If you knew anything about our borders, you would know that's not the case. Our borders are quite secure, thank you."

The guy calls him out on that answer saying that they aren't secure by saying "people are flowing into here at an alarming rate, hundreds of thousands of people are flowing in every year".

The congressman then replies "Yes!"

And again, the guy asks "ok, so then that is not secure".

Again, the congressman states "well then how would you secure it".

UFB. This guy is about on the level of the dude who thought Guam would capsize if we moved the Marines there.

WTF?

Evidence shows that Neanderthal males were strong, but only one arm was very pumped up

No mystery there. Just figure that female Neanderthals looked a lot like the male in that picture. You would have one really pumped arm too, and it wouldn't be from hunting.

I'll admit this is a fairly weak entry in the WTF thread, but I found the camp organizer's lack of judgement impressive.

Vick a no-show at his own celebrity golf tourney

By GEORGE HENRY, Associated Press Writer

TUCKER, Ga. (AP)—Michael Vick was a no-show at his celebrity golf tournament Sunday after probation officials restricted travel for the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback this weekend.

Vick spokeswoman, Judy Smith, said that Vick’s travel has been at the discretion of his probation officer since he was released from prison in a federal dogfighting case in May 2009.

The restriction follows a prosecutor saying this week that while Vick wasn’t involved in a shooting after his 30th birthday party in Virginia Beach, Va., that he was in a confrontation before the incident.

Vick missed the Michael Vick Celebrity Golf tournament in Georgia and also did not make a scheduled appearance at a youth football camp in Raleigh, N.C., this weekend.

Spokespersons for both events say they were notified Sunday morning that Vick would not be attending.

“They called early, like 2 o’clock in the morning, telling us he’s not coming,” said Cornelius Corprew, director of Camp Elite Sports’ two-day football camp. “And then we couldn’t speak to him. It was through one of his associates.

“We’re not crazy. No state agency is communicating at 2 o’clock in the morning that he’s not allowed to come. I think that was a selfish act.”

Corprew, who said that he was told Saturday by Vick representatives that the NFL star would be there Sunday. He said Vick was paid a $2,000 deposit of a $4,000 fee. He said the camp was built around Vick’s appearance, and that campers paid $175 each and were promised packages that included photos and autographs.

“I’m upset because our camp is built on integrity and character and that’s what we teach to our kids,” Corprew said.

Rema Miller, whose Atlanta-based company promoted the charity golf tournament, said she spoke with Vick on Friday and he indicated at that time he was meeting with the Eagles.

On Sunday, Vick told event organizers he could not appear.

“He was coming at the time, but unfortunately he had to go meet with Philly for a team meeting,” Miller said. “He did send a message that he hates that he could not be here, but he appreciates everybody coming out to support the charities.”

Terance Mathis, a former Vick teammate with the Atlanta Falcons, played in the golf tournament. He said he was disappointed Vick wasn’t there, but admires Vick’s charitable efforts.

“He’s still doing a great thing, trying to raise money for charities and help the community,” said the former NFL wide receiver. “It’s an unfortunate thing that happened, and when that happens, law enforcement does what they have to do. But it doesn’t change how I feel about the guy and what he’s trying to accomplish.”

Though the events were scheduled on the same weekend, Corprew said he was assured that it would not present a problem. He said he was told not to worry about the golf tournament—that Vick would take care of them first.

Corprew said Vick missed an opportunity.

“You talk about second chances,” he said. “You’re given a great second chance and this would’ve been the perfect place to show he appreciated being given a second chance.”

The victim in the June 25 shooting has not be identified by the police, but Vick’s attorney, Larry Woodward, said it was Quanis Phillips—a co-defendant in the federal dogfighting case that landed Vick in federal prison. Phillips was treated at a hospital and released the following day.

Woodward said Phillips, who was sentenced to 21 months for his role in the dogfighting operation, was not an invited guest at Vick’s birthday bash.

Vick remains on three years’ probation and is not allowed to associate with anyone convicted of a felony unless granted permission to do so by his probation officer.

Police said Vick is not a suspect in the shooting.

“I’m upset because our camp is built on integrity and character and that’s what we teach to our kids,” Corprew said.

So you built a camp around Michael Vick? WTF?

Really want to feel bad for the camp organizer and the parents who shelled out on the camp, and all the kids eager to see their little football hero. But...it's Michael Vick. If that's who they idolize, they deserve to get burned. :darkcloud:

And yeah, building a camp around him pretty much automatically bans it from being about "integrity."

That's because nearly every history teacher in America is also the basketball, baseball and/or football coach. Honestly, buying every box set History Channel has made and playing that for an hour a day to students would be better than some of the worthless teachers we've got. (note: not all teachers are worthless, don't get your panties in a bunch)

Incredible! So much for progress in American education since Grampa's time.

It's all been revised so they can learn about other cultures. Our own history is oppressive and mean-spirited, didn't you know that?

This next news story is for all the single seat guys who have ever claimed they would rather have 200lbs of gas than a Nav. It now appears (according to DARPA) that the A-10 can be dramatically improved by removing the pilot.

WTF?

DARPA Eyes Unmanned A-10 Demo: DARPA is advancing the concept of using unmanned or optionally manned A-10 aircraft for persistent close air support (PCAS). The goal is to develop the autonomous flight controls and the interfaces so that joint terminal attack controllers are able to visualize, select, and employ weapons from these A-10s at the time of their choosing. This would result in "dramatic capability improvements" compared to current CAS, enabling "near-instantaneous airborne fire," writes the agency in a July 8 announcement. DARPA intends to host a PCAS workshop on July 23 in Arlington, Va., to articulate the goals and objectives to the research community. The agency wants this work to lead to a live-fire demonstration of the concept. Back in February, DARPA projected that the demo would occur in the 2012-13 timeframe. (DARPA PCAS notice)

Uhhh, so JTACs flying a remote control A-10 to support themselves? Wow, that as "extreme, super, unimaginable epic fail" written all over it. Who are these retards who come up with these absolutely ridiculous ideas?

200 Lbs? Good if you can get it but I'd settle for 50. Or even just the silence.

You may be getting more silence than you are hoping for sitting on the ramp in your multi-mega buck ride waiting for an increasingly unlikely mission to occur. That is, if the ride gets bought at all. If I was an army General I would be looking at an F-22 pilot and then at my own Captains and Majors and asking what the pilot is doing that begins to match what those guys are doing. And i'm commenting as a fairly robust supporter.

I believe in the value of air support...my Senator barely knows what it is

You lost me at the word "You." What does my jab at WSOs have to do with comparative worth to current contingency operations?

If North Korea or Straits of Taiwan kick off, is your notional army general going to be asking his HBCT captains and majors what they are doing to match the fighter pilots? How about your SWO LTs and LCDRs, what are they doing right now?

First I am assuming that "you" are a single seat fighter pilot. Then I am expanding my association concerning 200 or even 50#'s of fuel to TRY and justify including YOUR 200 lb carcass much less a second guy. Sort of jumping from the "I don't need no help" attitude to the RAPIDLY solidifying "maybe we don't need YOU either" attitude. I personally think that we DO need "YOU" (see assumptions above) but we also need WSO's. As for the Navy...I think they are worried and should be when Ron Paul and Barney Frank are prancing hand in hand to budget meetings. But to be honest; If I was Barry I would use the Navy to defend the Straits of Mollucca (Mollusca?) before Formosa....Korea? who knows? They also chase pirates and have fired more shots in anger recently than any F-22 (a good thing). I hesitate to add this last but as far as a "notional Army General" He could be your CO sooner than you think. SOOOO... to do a quick 180 back into WTF thread territory (jeez I love that talk).....WTF do I tell my Senator and Congressman when I call them after the latest budget threat? They want to close all the bases in Europe.

See? It's sort of like a free associating conversation only in writing...no choking and kicking
