Anthony Green committing four offenses in violation of two articles (Article 120c and Article 134) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.The offenses happened to one victim on or near Hurlburt Field, the release says."He was sentenced to a reduction in rank to the grade of E-1; a dishonorable discharge; 10 years of confinement for producing child pornography; and two years of confinement each for the offenses of indecent recording, possessing child pornography, and viewing child pornography," per the release. "Those sentences will run concurrently. The sentencing followed a general court-martial trial by a judge at Hurlburt Field, Florida, Sept. 14 – 17, 2026."

10 hours ago10 hr I think executions should be public, and a lot more of them as well. Both of those things would convey a stronger message of ultimate accountability for crimes. More people would think twice about murder when they see a bunch of people getting hanged or shot in public (and within a couple months of conviction, not this couple decades bullshit). Our justice system is a complete joke - these fundamental changes would start reversing that well deserved moniker.

The appeals process taking years or decades is a total foul. But high profile mass shooters/terrorists know they’re gonna get caught and ultimately executed. They’re looking for infamy which is exactly what this gives them. This is exactly the reason a number of news outlets I respect have stopped naming shooters. The coverage is exactly what drives motivation for more of this stuff. A big publicity stunt execution and political food fight about it only elevates the profile of a dude that should be completely forgotten.

I think public execution (combined with short timeline between conviction and execution) would do more to dissuade capital crimes than it would boost the “for fame” crowd. But that’s truly unknowable currently, just a hunch. I would certainly be happy to simply see the decade(s) long appeals process stop and more capital punishment (specifically if you killed someone else with intent or a repeated gross negligence scenario such as 2nd DUI with fatalities).
