As a retired MSgt I like the idea of WO's. When I was active I was totally not competitive for E-8,9 since my career path kept me on the flightline for 23 years. Being a MSgt in my position with a chance to move into WO ranks would be very tempting. Just wondering what the age cutoff would be or would they just offering to first termers to keep the the E-8's and E-9's placated.
I wonder if a 4 star's who pass on will be included in this, I'll be dead so I wont give a shit but it will be a slap in the face to my family. Maybe they could get the funds to honor by dropping a few bands, TIB, and General officers quarters remodel.

At least we will know if this blows up into a shit storm we will all know both sides were both fill everybody up with B.S.. Math doesn't lie. https://motherboard.vice.com/read/belgian-physicists-calculate-that-everyone-is-lying-about-the-downed-russian-jet
It has been like this since the draw down after Desert Storm, https://www.airforcetimes.com/story/military/2015/11/02/weary-maintainers-struggle-keep-fleet-combat-ready/74870766/
Forward deployed on the flight line changing a engine and hearing them in the hanger with a rousing tribute and review to Walt Disney. If I was king I get rid of of the male soloists and keep the females who can sing and good looking dressed like any other female pop star with songs that are not 5 years old. The troops like rap, metal and top 40 plus have a couple civilian comedians who are not afraid to tell senior leadership jokes at their expense.
Sounds just like the way the USAF parked all the KC-135E's panicking that their engine struts were about ready to fall off, we replaced all the struts during PDM along with installing carbon fiber brakes.
Came across this and noticed the tail number was a jet I used to be a Crew Chief on back in the mid 80's at EGUN. All I can say it was providence that it happened on the takeoff roll and not airborne which would have been a much worse outcome. https://www.omaha.com/news/military/disaster-averted-at-offutt-but-major-questions-remain/article_41bfc96a-8b03-510b-b0f1-7d7d8633cd26.html
Doesn't matter, it will through time be known by a unofficial nickname i.e. Lawn Dart, Mud Hen, Hog, Fred, Barney, etc. In my world we just call them 135's or when A models flew Steamjets. Recievers will just call them Mogas ,Shell, or Texaco.
Already seeing this at the depot, had a TF-33 powered OC-135 here and they have to rely on old farts like me to work on the old Pratt's. Most new mechanics don't even know what EPR target means
Hey whats wrong with K.I. Sawyer ?, It was my favorite base, yea you had to get used the 300"s of snow a year but we were equipped for it unlike anywhere else you get a dusting and the world stops. It sure was a whole lot better than being at Barksdale and Minot. Where else is it a wing down day for the first day of gun season for deer season.
Here is a interesting article on why we went with the KC-10 and not the KC-25. https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-worlds-only-kc-747-tanker-is-flown-by-the-iranian-a-1581314071
