I'm a old timer and remember strippers and getting drunk at the club and looking forward of going to the club at quitting time having a drink with my boss blowing off steam as long as I was buying the round. https://taskandpurpose.com/military-overkilled-alcohol-big-collateral-damage/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_content=tp-facebook&utm_campaign=culture

If we had ISU 90's back in 1955 and if Gen Lemay wanted the KC-135 to be a cargo hauler they would have built the airplane to handle them. I wonder if we had 463L pallets back in 1955. But it has done its job of what it was designed to do since 1955 with some upgrades. We were still using water injection up to 1994 when AMC said enough of that. At least it is RVSM capable. FYI, the original contract was won by Lockheed with a paper airplane but Boeing was ready and LeMay did not want to wait.

Don't know the full story but if I was still in I would be wondering about our senior leadership, being in the corporate world I as a worker bee wrenching jets I have a generally poor opinion of my supervision. Now in the corporate world you say bad things about the suits in a public forum you better have a updated resume, but in the military and how they went after this guy just seems petty. https://freebeacon.com/national-security/afghanistan-war-hero-stripped-of-silver-star/

Jordanian F-16 down over Syria - Pilot captured by ISIS
Prosuper replied to TheGuardGuy's topic in General Discussion
I could not have imagined if he was one of ours. These guys give Nazi's a bad name. I would like the ROE written by the actions of our enemies, there is no morality when it comes to war. -
It's has something to do with the technology available, the VC-25 has 4 huge generators that can handle the load of what is being powered on the jet, IE the E-3 has 8 generators to power the radar and goes tits up when you go down to 6 . Now if you can figure it out on to load up the 2 generators on a twin without melting the wiring you will become a rich man. The next AF-1 after this 747-8 will be a interesting question. Also with the air refueling requirement and nobody else having a 747-8 in the USAF how will they do their currency, actually go up in a P sortie and hit a tanker. Presently the PPO pilots use the E-4B to keep up their currency on ARing.

The old one is a 747-200, it is getting harder to get parts. Boeing is always on -200 operators to switch to -400 or -800 so they don't have to keep up with the engineering costs and part warehousing. Kalitta you know the guys who bring us ice cream in the AOR are always being asked to stop flying their old iron for newer models. I'm feeling kind of old now, I remember getting 62-6000 from Presidential and getting it ready to fly for a trip to Greenville Tx to get the Presidential paint job removed for the standard VIP paint back in 91 when 28000 got to Andrews. Hell I still remember E-3's when they were new.

Been contracting for awhile, no way I would sign on for this, it will take just 4 weeks to get boots on the ground after 6 months just recruiting guys with the skill set to do this, plus who is going to spend the money for 2 weeks for pilots type cert. It has to be 2 years with year to year options. Since I don't wear stripes anymore you got to pay me big to sign on for this.

I've noticed that most base CC's usually unrated types are the ones driving this, they have X amounts of funds and the first place they cut is services on transients. Most TA's are contractors who bidded bottom dollar who cut pay, staffing, and hours so they are useless now along with transportation and billeting.

Stayed at the Holiday inn in Cambridge, great pub not far from there called the Eagle, just across the street from Kings College Cathedral, good place to see all the RAF history on the walls just enjoying a pint. Also stay at the Sheraton at Gatwick, PHHHHHH!

My God Daughter was born there, I remember launching every -135 we had for Eldorado Canyon, I remember having to sign in girls to the Galaxy club, I remember Hog Call ( dance at the Bob Hope rec center every Wed night), remember never getting to tired of seeing a SR-71 takeoff, remember the MX Sq CC getting pissed during a dorm shake down of finding more Brit women living there than his own troops. The Bird in hand, Smoke House , all crawling distance back to billeting. All my TDY's there. Started to believe in ghosts from stuff I could not explain on the flightline. It was my home away from home. The green grass on the hardstands after rotating out with your jet from the AOR.

Talk to flight test guys who take jets up for the first time after a PDM, that would be more of a risk than a new jet.
-
At least in Seattle they are paying attention, would have loved to get some of that premium time pay to get this done during the holidays. https://www.heraldnet.com/article/20141228/BIZ/141229205

Also kudos to the first Crew Chief Charlie Taylor who built the powerplant out of aluminum who did it in 6 weeks that made this possible.

WW2, Civil War, Indian Wars, Etc. Did we starve American's and force upon them a punitive occupation during reconstruction? Did we march Indians from Georgia to Oklahoma because whites wanted their land even though we signed treaties with them as a sovereign nation? Did we imprison Japanese Americans? Did we massacre Indians while they slept on more than one occasion as the Cavalry raided their village even though Black Kettle flew a US Flag from his lodge? Hey I'm going to call it what it is, nice guys finish last. When War is started all rules of human morality are thrown out with only one rule."Win and survive" . I think the American people are losing the will to do what is necessary and what the price actually is when it is as close as a You Tube video.

I came across this today, thinking like this from the boss's explains a lot why leadership hates the A-10 https://ricks.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2014/12/03/a_pilot_speaks_the_usaf_is_harder_on_internal_ideas_than_it_is_on_evil_insurgents_ac_130

After 90 days straight as a ProSuper deployed during OEW/OSW I got one day off, I slept 18 straight hours. Damn I miss it. I know I'm a sick bastard.

Production Superintendent is the best job in USAF for a MSgt, you actually make things happen instead of beating your head on the wall.

No worse than that," McPeak" big Obama fan.

I did the last 6 months of my career as a flight chief (day care), 2 of my Crew Chiefs were married to strippers er dancers, it was not a short 6 months.
-
I see the whole thing lasting less than 6 months.

Can clearly see the AR doors but no winglets
