Yet another Poser...this time pretending to be a Two Star
Steve I tried that but I got tired of having to sign autographs everywhere I went.

NATO apologises for Afghan Koran 'burning'
Yeah and our dumb ass in chief is already apologizing for it without knowing all of the facts from the guys on the ground. Regardless, we need to bring all of you back home from that crap hole!! As has been written on here several times, that hole is not worth another sacrifice (injury or death)!

Kim Jong-un Assassinated?!?
Sounds like they are reaching out. The news just reported that they have agreed to some of the nuke requirements from the US in return for some food.

Yeah, that gunboat scene was excellent. I keep thinking, that's exactly what is meant when someone says "rain hell" on a target.

Latest Movies
Act of Valor. Good movie, fast paced and very respectable acting for a bunch of active duty Seals. Most of the movie you wouldn't really think about it being non actors playing most of the main roles. I definitely wouldn't want a Seal team after my ass (sts) !!!

Homeland Security - Fair and Rational Reaction?
Steve, I vote overreaction. It was probably silly to make/write comments that could be potentially mistaken as a threat, but with some questioning at the airport coupled with the background check required to get the visa in the first place, they should have told the guy that even joking about such things can get you undesired scrutiny and then allowed him entry. But, at every airport in the US there are warnings against making any kind of comment in jest about bombs or blowing things up. We've taken the zero tolerance approach (used with incredible success in schools across our country - ) and applied it to public transit (and most entertainment) environments.

IFS and the right sight picture......
It's more than 27 words long and I can still say that stupid spin boldface and it's been 22 years since I last flew the Tweet. It's crazy how some things stick in your head.

Gun Talk
I hope this hasn't been previously posted. I knew M2 would enjoy it as long as it wasn't a repost. Pretty funny.

The Yeager Thread
It sucks that somebody who we could at least respect (even admire) for his good fortune, good timing, and his drive to make thing happen in his career, has to be a douchebag.

Leaving Afghanistan
I'm with RustyPipes on this one. Heck, I'll even brush the dust off of my old flightsuits and volunteer to fly a fully loaded Buff (nuke load only, please) on a weekly basis to drop off some "foreign policy" on those rump ranging pedos!! I'd love the option to choose some alternate targets in the area as well.

Military pay/benefit cuts proposed
Sounds like an FDR solution, and that dude should have been taken out a day after he was elected, so we could have eliminated 11 years and 364 days of his presidency. Those are the type of ideas that started our trajectory toward this welfare state. Some good intentions I'm sure, but terrible for the country in the long run (and the short run) and way beyond the scope of what our government was authorized to do.

Bin Laden dead!
Pretty good...other than the 2 term feces. If we elect that numbnuts for 2 terms, America really is FUBAR.

Should Drinking Age for Military Personnel Be Lowered to 18?
Yes, it was legal for 18 year olds to drink on base through the '80s (even after they increased the general population age to 21 in ~1983). I don't remember when the legal age for military members to drink on base got changed to match civil law, but I think if you are willing to serve and potentially die in service for your country you should be able to drink.

Air Force: Pilot yields wings after low flyover
I'll add one of my stories of getting jumped by 2 F-111s when returning to England from a short TDY to Denmark back in 1990. I was flying the KC-135 and as soon as the controllers passed us off to British control I asked for clearance down to a lower level (we were at about 4K feet at the time we crossed the Danish coast) and was immediately cleared pilots discretion to the surface. English controllers were awesome back then (might still be) and pretty much gave any thing you asked for as long as they felt it safe. So we descended down to about 300 feet and accelerated to 300 knots. My nav was a little concerned but the rest of the crew was psyched. So anyway we saw an oil platform coming up so I went on down to about 100 feet and flew by just off the edge of it. About that time a streak went by my window and I saw an F-111 in full burner blow by the left side of my airplane. A couple seconds later his wingman blew by the co-'s side even closer to us (probably 20 feet from the co-s window). My boom got a picture of the second jet once he was out in front of us a little bit (he grabbed the camera after the first jet went by and had it at the ready). We were approaching the coast and went ahead and started climbing at that point and then got a 1000' VFR tour of the cliffs of Dover. Like I said, the British controllers back then were awesome. As Rainman said different times and you could get away with more and if you got busted, it was handled by your commander usually and not elevated to the point where someone felt required to crucify you.

What is the main cause of a plane crash?
About 50% pilot error and the other 50% are attributed to other factors such as mechanical error, bird strikes, weather, sabotage, etc. But really I'd guess that there is usually a combination of factors that cause an actual crash to happen. There are lots of sources out there to investigate reasons accidents happen. The FAA and NTSB also keep stats of different type accidents and their probable cause. https://planecrashinfo.com/cause.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviation_accidents_and_incidents https://www.aviation-law-news.com/html/causes.html

Well said general. Craniums up though ... the homo lovers with popcorn are going to be "disappointed in you and your intolerance".

Barack Obama calls France America's strongest ally.
Frogs, I hate frogs. Those fags wouldn't even let us fly through their airspace on the way back to England to get home after Gulf War I.

Gun Talk
Thankfully it doesn't matter what you "see" or don't see as to what the 2nd amendment grants (actually I would argue it just confirms a right we have/had already). "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Exactly what part of "shall not be infringed" do people not get??
