My godson finished UPT (abbreviated T-1 only). Graduated with way less than 80 hours and just now finished FTU recently. I guarantee he’s not comfortable in the seat with such an abbreviated training program. Now his squadron is going to have more work to get him up to speed (sharp kid but still he got less than 1/2 the hours we got back in t-37/t-38 UPT syllabus). There is no doubt an ACE type program would benefit the individual pilots and the AF as a whole.

I’m for anything that slows the passing of more laws (filibuster included). Slow and steady can be frustrating at times, but it’s better than thoughtless reactions. The Senate was originally supposed to be the wise and thoughtful chamber that moved slowly and purposely to prevent knee jerk reactions and minimize second and third order negative consequences. That’s def not the case now and removing the filibuster will make it even worse.

Agreed Huggy, the ACE program was awesome for us -135 and -52 copilots. I ended up with over 400 hours of tweet time while a CO at Plattsburgh. Used Csquared (the off days right after alert week - for you youngsters) as an opportunity to cruise down South for a few days with 3 hops each day. We’d leave out on Wednesday right off alert and return Sunday evening by 6pm. Any controlled airport with a military fuel contract and at least 5,000 feet of runway was good to go. Smyrna, TN used to give a small bottle of Jack for each 100 gallons of fuel. The Squadron bar keep was happy every time i flew through there. The furthest I flew out of Plattsburgh on a tweet trip was to NM and back. A few others to Homestead, FL and back. Great flying experience and tons of fun to boot. A few of us even got formation qualed and flew a few out and back formation trips too. I’m still shocked how many of my fellow CO’s didn’t take full advantage of the program. I was able to fill empty flight slots/schedules tons of times just by being willing and available to fly. One year I flew 2 “guest” flights with our 2 tanker squadron commanders.

Not sure how many of y’all have seen the documentary about John. It’s well worth the watch. He’s always been my favorite comedy actor with Uncle Buck being the pinnacle (filled with heart warming sap at times but plenty of good humor too). He was a big guy but from the movie it appears his heart for others was even bigger. If you have Amazon its available there.

i know some red states with terrible blue cities, but not aware of crime ridden red cities (i guess it might happen if the city is trapped in a blue state). I’m still waiting for the AR or MS guard to invade TN and take Memphis from us. We’d be one of the safest places in the world without Memphis.

Strongly oppose anything other than public disclosure of what they said out there for public consumption. Families should never be doxed (home info, relatives, etc). Make the owner of the words stand by them, but counter with more accurate and truthful words not violence (unless as someone outlined, self defense). I’m all for defending someone, if the perpetrator is intent on doing physical harm/death, with the use of copious amounts of deadly force.

Yeah I might have gone too far in the shortness of a fair trial. But, they do have the whole murder on film so there is not much to defend (you got my point).

Tragic event made even more evil by those celebrating his death. Even “mainstream” media (e.g. cnn, msnbc, etc) seems to defend the Charlotte scumbag and now the Utah scumbag. We need speedy trials with public executions. The Charlotte guy should be executed next week (1 day trial - show video of him murdering) and when they prove who the Utah murderer is, publicly execute him immediately after the trial. 20 to 30 years on death row is not a deterrent.

Let’s be honest, democrats don’t care about Chicago and other once great cities that have become shitteholes because it’s mostly black Americans killing other black Americans. If the murder rate significantly increases in white and areas where politicians live, it’ll be more important. They’ll still yell “racism”, but they’ll start to care when their lives are in imminent danger.
