KC-135 down in Iraq
Just last week I told some friends that my godson was being sent to the region but since he was flying -135s there wasn’t too much risk. He wasn’t involved, but this tragic accident starkly reminded me that flying airplanes always involves risk. Them…Them. Prayers for their families and their squadron mates.

I remember F-16 and A-10 losses during DStorm but don’t remember any F-15 loses.

Replace USA with. ‘MERICA! That would troll tons of officials- R.I.P., Robert Duvall
A legend. One of the finest actors ever with tons of classic/epic films to his credit.- Greenland
Not entirely Greenland focused but a great discussion about Trump and the world order from a British perspective. Worth the watch in my opinion.- Greenland
I think the focus on owning Greenland is misguided but don’t see why he needs to deflect from either of those topics. Epstein hurts tons of elites equally, and the ice deaths are self inflicted by nutters on the extreme left. It’s sad that misguided Americans are putting themselves in those situations and dying, but it’s totally preventable by them simply obeying the law while civilly protesting. On Greenland though, Trump is running around in a China-shop breaking things/people at random and i don’t think it’s beneficial. We can achieve our goals with current agreements and maybe some new deals on mining and exploration. Make NATO pay for some of it since our plans there enhances their security as well. Use leverage to cooperate (even if subtly forcing it) instead of overtly disrespecting them with threats and possibly ruining relationships. Though I agree he is a douche many times. PS: I like him calling out Europeans (and us under Obama and Biden) for illogical policies and pushes for going green at all costs. Self inflicted harm by every nation that created policy aligning with that doom and gloom ideology. Germany and the UK screwed themselves for years to come.- COVID-19 (Aka China Virus)
I think both Fauci and Mayorkas should both be in prison for the rest of their lives.- E-7A Wedgetail
Worse than my cynical self ever imagined- E-7A Wedgetail
So even with this funding and the fact it’s already flying missions with allies we can’t field one until 2032 ? Our process is screwed!- Greenland
Not entirely Greenland related, but a factor in our relationship. I’m not a huge Johnson fan (sts), but I thought he did a great job here and possibly even defused a bit of Trump’s bombastic speech.- The WOKE Thread (Merged from WTF?)

This cracked me up. I wish Nick was my TN state rep instead of a VA state rep. ClearedHot you can’t bring your gunship. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1413212763837365/?fs=e&fs=e- The WOKE Thread (Merged from WTF?)

I’d love to see Iran get back to being a more free society where human rights are recognized and respected. I was a kid in early 1971 when my family (father worked for a relief NGO) was evacuated from East Pakistan (Bangladesh); we stayed in Tehran with a USAF SMsgt’s family who hosted us for 2 weeks waiting for my older brothers to get out of West Pakistan (they were in boarding school). My parents have pictures from our time there and it was modern, clean and open. I remember the stark contrast of 3rd world where we lived in Dhaka to a modern and clean Tehran. It’s sad that the people have been so controlled for so long. I wish them the best, but it’s going to be a rough ride for them regardless if they topple the mullahs or not. 45 years plus of essentially no say in their leadership or what form of governance they have.- Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
I know I’ve asked about precious metals before but holy smokes it’s all (gold, silver, and platinum) been going nuts the past year or two. Au is almost $4,500 an ounce, Ag is $72 an ounce and Pt is over $2,000 an ounce. Since I bought most of my Au and Ag (around 2001-2003) they are both up (Au 1,100% and Ag 1,400%) far exceeding inflation numbers. Platinum has bounced all over but since earlier this year it’s currently up over 100%. Historically precious metals were mainly a hedge (maintain value type investment), but recently they are far exceeding inflation numbers. Any prognostications on sustainability? The silver price is a little frightening since so much of industry uses silver. With the increased demand in computing, electronic devices, electric vehicles/solar power, and batteries in everything, costs have to be impacted significantly.- The Congressman is back yo
I know not the Congresscritter this thread was started for but… Ole Crenshaw started a fight with Shawn Ryan that might not go very well for him. I’ll be interested in how this plays out.- College Football
What about Indiana!? Holy smokes I never thought I’d see Indiana football mentioned in any discussion of possible college football Champions! Anybody think they can keep it up through the playoffs?- Next CSAF?
To whom it may concern. Will the person at the O-club Friday night who drew dick pics in our flight caps please provide new hats. Sincerely, Col. Harry Balzac & Col. Hugh P. Ness- ACE 2.0
My godson finished UPT (abbreviated T-1 only). Graduated with way less than 80 hours and just now finished FTU recently. I guarantee he’s not comfortable in the seat with such an abbreviated training program. Now his squadron is going to have more work to get him up to speed (sharp kid but still he got less than 1/2 the hours we got back in t-37/t-38 UPT syllabus). There is no doubt an ACE type program would benefit the individual pilots and the AF as a whole.- The Next President is...
I’m in shock that beached whales care about their eyebrows. Shouldn’t they be working on heart healthy diets and not worrying about lipstick on a sow.- The Next President is...
I’m for anything that slows the passing of more laws (filibuster included). Slow and steady can be frustrating at times, but it’s better than thoughtless reactions. The Senate was originally supposed to be the wise and thoughtful chamber that moved slowly and purposely to prevent knee jerk reactions and minimize second and third order negative consequences. That’s def not the case now and removing the filibuster will make it even worse. - New Air Force One
