  1. Agreed. CH, what would you think about AFSOC reorganizing wings into similar type missions? Strike wing, mobility wing, ISR, etc. I’m curious if that would help AFSOC focus more; it seems a lack of focused O6 attention results in a lack of GO focused attention, which allows problems to fester. Although we would need increased cross flows to prevent tribalism, but in general I think more cross flow is a good thing.
  2. Thanks for the explanation, never heard it called that.
  3. What does “mechanical crossflow” mean?
  4. In this situation are you imagining you’re a cop or another armed citizen? In either case, why did you let an angry mob attack the kid and burn the city? Did you ask the arsonist mob to “comply?” I welcome dialogue, but your post is nonsensical because it presumes this event occurred in a vacuum.
  5. Quick summary of this conversation: I speculate boosters may become mandatory, you come off the top rope mocking me, but now acknowledge boosters may be mandatory and you’ve forgotten that only 3 weeks ago it was a conspiracy theory. You think I’m a “southwest first officer” (which I assume is bad?), I think you're incapable of critical thought; conversation and compromise is impossible. That’s this whole COVID event in a microcosm. Wish I had an idea of how to move forward productively, but I don’t. From my viewpoint we have to: 1. cease mandates. “Emerging data to refine hypothesis” is fine, except this experiment involves human beings. How about we cease mandates until certain we aren’t making it worse? 2. hold responsible those who lied and abused their power, starting with Fauci and Cuomo and big tech oligarchs who crushed the free speech of doctors trying to help during a pandemic. 3. conduct an origin investigation on par with the 9/11 commission. That’s how we START healing. From his perspective I don’t know, but I’m guessing we get boosters every 6 months, ask no questions, and mock those who do. Our nation has irreconcilable differences and I fear for the future.
  6. https://www.foxnews.com/health/fauci-changing-definition-fully-vaccinated hey buddy, you ok? Or still a sheep bitch?
  7. I don’t understand how anyone with an ounce of fairness could oppose this verdict. Justifiable self-defense has rarely been this easy or clean to determine.
  8. Careful, I postulated that a few pages ago and Waingro apoplectically shit his pants.
  9. You don’t see the irony and hypocrisy in your own viewpoint? Why do healthy people have to alter behavior for the vulnerable, and not the other way around? You can’t make me feel guilty for not willingly obliging to the mandates when those espousing mandates show zero interest in changing their behavior to accommodate me. You are guilty of what you lament in others.
  10. Great question, I think you hit the heart of the philosophical disagreement. Simply answered- if COVID is not a danger to me, I shouldn’t be subjected to restrictions intended to protect those who are endangered. As one (of many) examples: Why am I wearing a mask instead of the person afraid of catching it? As a society, what other issue do we approach this way? If I am afraid of catching something, I protect myself. I don’t demand you change your behavior. The times we force vaccinations on everyone (public school) it’s for diseases which are equally dangerous to all.
  11. You’re on. But I should warn you: I won my last BO.net scotch bet and I have expensive tastes. See you in 2026.
  12. In 5 years there will no longer be a C19 vaccine mandate for the military. Bet a bottle of scotch?
  13. That has certainly not been my experience or observation in AFSOC. Is that a mobility thing?
  14. Maybe they aren't telling the full truth just like everything else with this pandemic? Go try and find Comirnaty somewhere. Like, actually call and see if you can find it, don’t simply google and cite an article saying it’s widely available.
  15. Is it available at your Walmart or CVS? Serious question; it’s not at mine.
  16. Can you find somewhere Comirnaty is available for service members? I’m not being snarky, I have members asking and our Med group can’t find it. Members are receiving orders to take Pfizer with an attached memo stating it’s “chemically identical” to Comirnaty. We’ll by this time there ought to be someone that has received Comirnaty. Do you know of someone who has? It’s just odd it was rebranded at all. Combined with all the other messaging changes, it doesn’t generate confidence.
  17. If “semantics and legalese don’t mean shit” then why didn’t the FDA simply approve Pfizer? Instead they approved Comirnaty, which the manufacturer tells us is chemically identical. Ok. But why not start making Comirnaty here? It’s one of several bizarre decisions that don't make sense to a casual observer… so we’re discussing it. On a discussion board. Yet here you are pissed off about people having a discussion. You are literally taking time to write on a discussion board that people should shut up and stop discussing😂 I don’t find your approach very convincing!
  18. Where in the comment you quoted did I mention this was constrained to the military? Your response assumes a lot. Regarding personal opinions, you’re right they are meaningless when it comes to following military orders but you know where they aren’t meaningless? A discussion board designed to share personal opinions. Some of you guys are high strung.
  19. Sure- our Wing has said if the CDC changes the definition of “fully vaccinated” to include booster shots (which is under discussion), they will be mandatory. We don’t know if that’s going to happen, but the question was asked due to reporting that the definition will change. Here’s a hospital already mandating it: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10148459/New-Jersey-hospital-mandate-BOOSTER-shots-workers-J-J-single-dose-vaccine.html
  20. I’m already hearing talk of mandatory booster shots. The authoritarian aspect of pandemic response is gaining momentum even as the pandemic itself is largely over.
  21. I disagree. If that were true someone would have at least put up a fight for Kabul. When I was an advisor I could never wrap my mind around the guys who would abscond: we send them out of country for training and they just leave. But when they leave they left their families. They were a culture of men who were OK leaving their families behind. There was something fundamentally wrong with them. They lost and they deserved to. We’re the idiots who couldn’t see that obvious truth. Nor could we see that the Taliban, despite being assholes, had the fortitude to take everything we threw at them. The Taliban would see their friends blown in half yet wake up to fight the next day. Our GIROA allies tossed their guns down and fled. Loser culture.
  22. Fair. But there were 80,000 weapons and millions of rounds of ammo sitting in a pile at HKIA that thousands of afghans ran by on their way to jump onto a C17. And the Taliban attack was about 600 on the first day. 10,000+ fighting age men threw down their weapons and ran in terror from 600 Taliban. And asked us to protect them. This is clean cut. This was a cowardly thing and they deserve to lose. And we shouldn’t save them. And US mil who are staying awake at night working ways to save these guys are way off the reservation.
  23. To be clear, I was talking about US mil who think we owe safety to former AFG mil and are advocating for their evacuation and resettlement in the US.
  24. The number of military age males that we evacuated was more than sufficient to defend Kabul, but they never tried. They should have fought, but they ran like cowards. We owe them nothing, and shouldn’t have evacuated anyone. I cannot understand any US military member who thinks we “owe” them safety. They should always have known that fighting for their own country and winning was the only option.
  25. Not true. Show some good faith and hold accountable those who have lied, then I’m willing to hear new info. Fire Fauci. That’s a great starting point for transmission of new info. Hold accountable some of the many journalists who have engaged in the “noble lie” and attempts to deceive. When trust is broken, step 1 to restoration is acknowledging the failure. Step 2 is accountability. Without either of those, we can’t move forward.
