Disagree with you here. My best friend is Ranger qual in the 101st so I get this info first hand. The ACU is crap. Sure its light weight, but its concealment is majorly lacking. Also, the velcro ends up trapping sand and becomes useless, the zippers are crap, and once you stain it you might as well throw them away. While some if this is might just be bitching I think the concealment portion is kind of a big deal. They are doing dismounted patrols in Afghanistan and blending in certainly helps. Yes the black beret for everyone was stupid (I agree). But generally the Army likes to incorporate things SOF is doing because they are doing it for a reason: It works! Not because it looks cool, but because its functional. I participated in an Army FTX (as OPFOR) in a woodland environment and it was painfully easy to spot them trying to be sneaky doing a recon while in ACUs.

That's funny. That's basically the exact AR I own. Except I got Daniel Defense rails and a Superior Arm's Lower. I LOVE IT!!! Mine was a little less expensive than that because I got it when prices were a bit lower (less demand). But with the DD rails it came out to about ~$1200.

Or just keep operating Vipers and we can avoid all this. Hell we have enough Vipers in the grave yard we could probably bring up to Block 52 spec easily and cheaply enough.

Block 60's cost more than Super Hornets? Seriously how is that possible. The Super Bug has two engines and is bigger...how did they manage to make it less expensive than the newest Viper? 2. Anyone know over what time span that was condensed from? Seems like he was over Germany at one point, then France, then getting cleared direct to Holloman? If he is over FL600 then why does he need to talk to anyone? Is that just a PC thing when flying over other countries?

The rail is solid. And yea I prefer the grip out that far. I am not using it for CQB or anything so I keep it on the far end and keep the stock fully extended.

Yea it's a Troy. Thing is built like a rock. I really liked shooting it. The rifle is definitely more accurate than I am so far. Not used to the vertical grip. Last time I shot an M16A2 w/the Army I shot expert. I haven't gotten used to this setup (actually preferred the A2 over the M4). I only put about 50rd's through it. Need more range time.

Fighter or Bomber/Attack? I don't think we have the bandwidth/technology to really make a good fighter. I mean right now isn't there a fairly pressing problem with limited bandwidth and latency issues? I don't think flying a fighter that has a 3 second control input lag will go over very well at the merge.
