The rail is solid. And yea I prefer the grip out that far. I am not using it for CQB or anything so I keep it on the far end and keep the stock fully extended.

Yea it's a Troy. Thing is built like a rock. I really liked shooting it. The rifle is definitely more accurate than I am so far. Not used to the vertical grip. Last time I shot an M16A2 w/the Army I shot expert. I haven't gotten used to this setup (actually preferred the A2 over the M4). I only put about 50rd's through it. Need more range time.

My new anti Zombie device. BCM 16" upper. Superior Arms Lower. Daniel Defense Rail.
  4. I do what I can. I'll consider this my civil service for the week. It's a win/win. Wohooo!
  5. Fighter or Bomber/Attack? I don't think we have the bandwidth/technology to really make a good fighter. I mean right now isn't there a fairly pressing problem with limited bandwidth and latency issues? I don't think flying a fighter that has a 3 second control input lag will go over very well at the merge.
  6. And finally:
  7. Not familiar with the rick-roll eh?

I wouldn't do anything much more than the USAA loan (25k, ~$450 a month). Right now that is the only debt I have and its easy to manage. I still manage to save close to entire paycheck a month and its only going to go up now that I make BAH. I am heavily looking into an 06 C6 Z06, which is probably going to set me back $45k before taxes. But I can afford it, I did some smart investing and by the time I am all said and done my only debt will still be the very manageable USAA loan. So basically...unless you have another 20-25k in your back pocket AND the USAA loan, don't blow it on a 48k vehicle.

The older BMW's are pretty affordable. If your talking a brand new M3 then yea thats pretty rich. But I wouldn't be so quick to jump on the silver spoon. I am looking into a Corvette as we speak and I have worked for everything I own.
  11. I didn't make it. But no didn't know he's 38. DAMN!
  12. How can I get a nice long TDY to Israel again?
  13. Wow...that is pretty extreme IMO. I concur with Nsplayr. Odds were they just pulled a triple shift or whatever crappy deal is standard for those dudes and the bus was several hours late. If they were in a "secured" REST area...whats the big deal? It's not like they were at the tittie bar. So Big Blue does what it always does and throws the crew under the bus. I would really like to know some background on this...rather than they just "fell asleep." But why? I mean I actually thought these shifts were only pulled by two people anyway...

It really depends on you. I know guys that spent maybe $1 a day. Granted they were in scrounge mode the entire time and probably forgot they graduated from college and could afford real food...I knew a dude that hit up SAM's club the first weekend there and probably spent $40 dollars the entire month. Other dudes would be going out to eat 2x a day and would easily blow by their per dium. I would probably eat at the golf course every other day, the chow hall 90% of the dinners during the week, and go off base for the weekend. So figure you are spending no more than $50 during the week on food and then whatever you want for the weekend. My average bill at the chow hall was less than $5 a meal. This doesn't include booze.

    bravocompanyusa.com Is having a fan-fricken-tastic sale on MagPul's for Ar-15's! I just bought 4 w/the exposed window. Cheapest I have seen.
  16. So if it's defective RAIM...why is the airplane still invisibile to radar?
  17. My bet? Nothing. We will sit back and "talk" and let someone else do the dirty work. Even if that means Chavez does it and we end up with another hostile dictator.
  18. While that statement is true, it isn't necessary to have a 30MM GAU-8A to be an effective CAS platform. Better qualities are loiter time, slow speed characteristics, and survivability.
