Commanders are dropping like flies this year
I hope it isn't because of the optic mounted backwards picture. Also, the article doesn't mention why he was fired so it most likely is for something completely unrelated: “due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command the guided-missile destroyer."

Border crisis
Bah, serves me right for speaking out of my ass (and being in diapers in the 80s): Geraldine Anne Ferraro (1984) - Ferraro was the first woman vice presidential nominee of a major U.S. party. Shortly before the Democratic National Convention in July of 1984, Ferraro was named by Walter F. Mondale as his choice for the vice-presidency. The ticket received 13 electoral votes. Born on August 26, 1935, in Newburgh, New York, she attended Marymount Manhattan College and Fordham University Law School. She was an assistant district attorney in Queens, New York. She won election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1978 and was subsequently elected to two more terms.

Pilot watches
I use this on the road: Timex Q It's cheap enough I don't care if it gets banged up or stolen. But looks nice enough from 20 feet away...and, added bonus, is useful with 3x time zones (home, zulu, and then spin the dial for local)

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
Except Putin did try and take Kiev. "According to the British Ministry of Defence, Russian forces were 31 kilometres (19 mi) from the city-center of Kyiv (Source)." Also, how was that peace deal sabotaged? I'm unable to read the article behind a paywall. But it seems like that peace deal resolved around Ukraine giving up rights to many territories and several other concessions to Russia.

Crash at Kirtland/ABQ 28 May 24
Video of the incident. My take away, dang, really everything these days is caught on camera. Plan accordingly.

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
I know I shouldn't feed the troll but this quote...wow. Seriously? Geee...I wonder what might have happened in 2014 that would cause the US to start giving them weaponry.

Glad the pilot got out. And that's definitely an F-35.

Ah, yes. The classic "Peace for our time" approach.

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
True, when you don't mind sending your troops into combat on unarmored ATV's and armed with Mosin–Nagants and have no regard of their well being, let alone surviving, I guess that does give you a bit of a strategic and tactical advantage.

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
1) Do we believe Putin and why? This could easily be a chance for Russian forces to rest, re-equip, and re-arm as well as mass and further fortify their current positions. Then, when they so choose, continue their advance. 2) Is Zelenskyy okay with those terms? Publicly he has stated his terms include the pre-invasion borders...

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
I mean, let's put it in perspective: the discussion of land lost in the last year is 0.2% of Ukraine's land mass (As of this morning at 6am: 552 sq miles out of 233,062...Source). I am sure any countries leader worth a damn would say their definition of victory is to regain ALL invaded territory. It isn't very realistic for him to publicly say he is okay with Crimea being the sacrificial lamb. Behind closed doors in a negotiated settlement? Maybe it'll be different. But I can't fault him for his patriotism. I think well equipped Ukrainians can regain land from the Russians, after all, from June to December they liberated 199 sq miles. Russia has "only" occupied 294 sq miles from this April to May with their major offensive which coincided with Ukraine's major artillery shell shortage. Meanwhile, an underequipped Ukraine is still managing to schwack oil depots and major infrastructure in Novorossyisk and a refinery in Tuapse, not to mention the attack on aviation assets in Belbek Air Base, to name a few recently. We will see how they do after the next shipment of equipment arrives.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
Granted, I'm just a lowly herbivore but I think simulated kill silhouettes are beyond dumb. But here is the Navy doing it in 2009: The pesky Germans in 2012 (and I don't believe they have any sense of humor): But while we are the subject, another Growler just showed up with this: https://www.twz.com/air/navy-ea-18g-growler-sports-puzzling-mi-24-hind-kill-mark-overseas

How do you feel about your airframe and mission?
I separated back at the end of 2023, but it still sounds busy over there. Demand exceeds capacity, so it'll always be busy. As for hiring, I believe a lot of functionals aren't releasing people. If you actually get the in person interview invite then you have a pretty good chance of getting hired. At that point, it's more timing (provided you don't bomb the interview)...some people have to interview twice just for timing.

Belly flopped T-6
Let's just be happy it's not a strategic asset this time (ie: B-2 runway departure, B-1 ILS scrape, etc). The AF really needs to get back to basics with the OPSEC from the nonners. MX or OPs gets warned about taking pics of the flight line/incidents. Everyone else? Not so much.

Well then, he will be happy to hear that Hamas has cut the price of the FREE food/aid. Unrelated: Didn't the US dispose of Mohamed Farrah Aidid in Somalia for the exact same thing Hamas is doing?
