Air Force is hiring for civilian T-6 IPs
While I agree with you...the biggest thing the Air Force can't control is locations. That is 100% politics at nearly the highest level. Good luck convincing any of those Senators who control the real purse strings to shut down bases in their states.

Changing/Switching airframes
If you are a KC-10 dude or dudette I'd say apply to the 89th, but I believe I overheard our recruiter saying their functional wasn't releasing anyone since they are undermanned.

WTF? (**NSFW**)
Probably not the wisest COA in hindsight...but do people flip their shit when someone eats a Red Baron pizza at work? He can take pride in his countries military aviation pioneers and not endorse the atrocities committed by the Nazi party, IMO. If it was a bunch of SS douchebags or concentration camp guards then yea, that's a different story IMO.

I'll pin on about 6 days before I separate. So much for that raise I was looking forward to. 🤣

Is our line number just out of the respective line of the air force category or is it overall for the board?

Congrats to the selects! 🍺 Condolences to those who got the shaft. 😭 I somehow managed to get pick it up right in the middle of the pack (with a "trusted officer" push). Looking forward to my $12 BAH increase. Air Force is hiring for civilian T-6 IPs
But the FAIP is already an "expert" (or at least knowledgeable) on that airframe. All they have to do is learn how to teach at that point. The AF is assuming a 50 hour CFI/II already has the teaching down (and maybe they do). This CAIP will have to go through basically a UPT 0.5 to get to a passing PIT level, then go to PIT, then can teach. So my gripe is why didn't this dude or dudette just join the AF to begin with? Or, better question, why didn't the AF try and commission this dude or dudette with a pilot slot? They are obviously qualified.

Air Force is hiring for civilian T-6 IPs
I really can't see there being a big applicant pool for this...especially considering all the flight academies popping up with flows into the regional and then flow again into majors. And also, the super awesome locations that any 23 year old CFI would definitely love to live in all while teaching the people they just graduated with and making less money. It'll be interesting to see how this works out though.

The new airline thread
Finally American isn't the worst at something! But, sadly, the bigger the melt down we have the better the bargaining power. Need a way to keep our greedy pilots out of DOTC otherwise we will never get a industry leading (or even on par) contract.

Latest Movies
Top Gun: Totally unrealistic...stole an F-14A and never once had a compressor stall with those shit-tastic TF30 engines. Sheesh...hack writers. Also, was waiting for a Star Wars reference with their bombing run. Also, also...best sequel I've seen in a long time. Would recommend.

AFMAN 11-217
It was merged into just the AFMAN 11-202 series. So 202v3 and your MAJCOM sups are where you wanna be reading.

E-7A Wedgetail
I saw the physical whiteboard with hundreds of pucks at the CAOC complete with every color of the rainbow and then different styled lines because the poor tanker patch would run out of colors and have to make more creative solutions when they had >40 lines a day. I remember them trying to make a computer program to schedule tankers and, at least by my last deployment in 2017, it was nowhere near working.

F-15X on the Air Force's Budget Request
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/navy-wants-to-send-25-ea-18g-growlers-to-the-boneyard Looks like the Navy really wants to get out of any land based EA...definitely a budget ploy.

F-15X on the Air Force's Budget Request
If only they didn’t waste several billion on the LCS. And I think now that McCain is gone there is a better chance of ditching the hog. But I think bolting jammers and pods on the EX would be easier than adding an additional airframe to our branch. Granted, there is a lot of history of the ANG flying Navy fighters.

F-15X on the Air Force's Budget Request
What does that thing get us that the F-35 doesn’t cover? Or the F-15EX? At least the Eagle already has a draft Silent Eagle/Stealthy ish semi developed we could pick up. But I still don’t see why dropping another billion on the Superbug would do anything to improve our capes. Looks pretty cool though…so that counts for something.
