FYI, Leupold has pretty solid discounts for mil. Have the delta point pro on my Glock 20, it’s great. I’m curious about the new vortex defender ccw, anyone have one?

I have a few holsters from Crossbreed and really like them. My go to IWB has seen near daily use for 7 years and it probably will last another 20…it’s great. Big fan of RDS. I only recently got into them on pistols, and have quickly realized they do make a noticeable difference compared to traditional sights. Several good options out there that are geared towards conceal carry.
  3. We’re 5 years too late on a shitload of things, many far more important than bonuses and AGR conversions. Bureaucratic bloat is crippling.
  4. @Padres02 That’s probably the best setup you could possibly have. Even if you had a tight schedule one day, you could square the corner by finishing a flight and powering up the civ job laptop for a teams meeting at the squadron if you didn’t have time to run home in between. Keep your civ job calendar accurate (e..g not avail 0700-1200 X date) and your civ counterparts won’t care (or shouldn’t at least). That hypothetical is just a minor example, you’ll have no legal issues taking multiple days/years off for training, deployments, etc (at least USERRA-wise).

This is the key, and why one should try their best to at least hold prospective guns (shoot is better). Everyone’s hands, grip, etc. are different - many times a pref for one gun over another has nothing to do with quality/capability, but shooter comfort and feel.

Yep. Glocks are simple, reliable, and work well. They’re not the sexiest pistols, but I care about functionality and simplicity on guns I count on for survival.

A lot of personal pref, so shoot various ones if possible. Big Glock fan, I think the 43X MOS with choose-your-optic is a solid conceal carry option and my pref (I’ve shot every other like-model competitor out there). Several good options out there.
  8. @nsplayr You’re correct that I cannot understand how several Biden-led actions/policies are OK, let alone good. I accept that’s what you believe. Main points for why I think he has done terribly, and what are apparently “mainstream dem” according to you: - Not only supporting, but aggressively pushing, a mental health crisis, especially amongst youth - Purposely, and significantly, degrading domestic energy production/increasing reliance on foreign energy - Willful dereliction of border security at best, calculated and purposeful border insecurity at worst (a PCF of our drug epidemics going on) - Pushing green energy plans that are counter-science, counter-logical, and completely unrealistic. Note: All for green energy exploration and getting better, but not for illogical buffoonery driven by politics instead of reality - Weaponizing gov agencies against those who aren’t in lock step with party talking points/objectives - Extreme focus on exciting and continuing race-based culture wars - Multiple avenues of attack on individual liberties…he wants an obedient populace, not a country of unique individuals That’s just off the top of my nugget. I haven’t even touched the significant links he and his family have to our #1 enemy. But I also acknowledge corruption is everywhere, so I don’t think Biden is unique in shit like this. Ultimately, I cannot comprehend why you or anyone rational would support things like above. But you do, and I accept that is reality, even if I wish it wasn’t
  9. @nsplayr I understand your perspective and see the rationale of the baseline argument. I think Biden and those who surround him have made disastrous decisions and emphasized things to the detriment of our country. I think a rational D voter would advocate for another candidate to represent the Dems in 2024 vs. allowing the shit show to continue simply because there’s a D next to his name. If Biden and friends were moderate, then I totally agree with your premise. Bottom line, specific to Biden, it is more emotional than rational to want to him in 2024. Rational = demanding DNC primaries and hoping a better candidate comes out on top. I know that’s an unusual situation for an incumbent, but it’s warranted this round.
  10. Talked to my father in law yesterday, he’s incredulous at the idea that Biden or any Dem could win. He wants trump. He will not listen that trump = best chance of Dem success. He and people like him will fuck us all over, though under the best of intentions. Emotions on both sides of the spectrum are what landed us in the dumpster fire we’re in. Detach and make rational decisions and we can get ourselves out of this. Both Biden and Trump are irrational picks for different reasons. It’s that simple.
  11. They’re slow rolling in hopes another solid recession hits and nobody will get out regardless of a bonus. They’re a year too early, it’ll work in their favor next year.
  12. It’s possible, but very unlikely. They’re not going to give an ENJJPT slot to a heavy unit before giving them to fighter units, so only real chance is if every ARC fighter units turn down the slot and the ARC doesn’t want to turn it back to AETC, so they offer it to heavies. Again, possible, but not likely to happen.
  13. I know you’re probably right, I just don’t want it to be true! Between Joe and him, absolutely.
  14. The only hope is Trump doesn’t win the primary. If that somehow happens, Biden may very well lose. If it comes down to Trump vs. Biden, we’re fucked.
  15. For the couple dudes I know doing it, they get their full retirement and VA pay per standard, then anytime they work as a TR/DSG, they don’t get paid those things, but do get paid the TR/DSG pay for the period(s) they worked. Not sure about accruing more time towards an increased retirement amount.
  16. Yep, most parents today are shitty ones, lazy and self absorbed. It’s so frustrating to watch my age group +/-6.9 years suck so bad at life.
  17. And if you’re too drunk and fuck that one up, pay that shit off immediately and don’t tell anyone. You’ll probably be fine…totally only heard that from a friend, no chance I personally had that experience…
  18. I think your post is pretty spot on. Nobody is going to get hired because they brought the nicest bottle. But, it’s also a tool to help people remember you/your name when discussions on who to hire come up, FWIW.
  19. When you realize you’re the chick in a college date scenario and the AF is the dude who only cares about fucking you…
  20. That’s exactly what every younger/lower income dude should do. Don’t put a cent on your own card and there’s zero risk to yourself. And remember, you can always use your GTC at an ATM if you need cash (but recommend choosing wisely on which ATM you use). Now once you’re higher income and can take the “temp hit” because you want your own points/rewards - follow your heart.
  21. I have been told (can’t personally corroborate) that all the things were said in the room, multiple times, that all of us would have said. They were summarily ignored and the dumbest COAs were chosen. Civilian control of the military makes sense overall, but this was an example of that system completely backfiring, similar to Vietnam.
  22. “You guys,” dude just knock that shit off. Probably 99% of us all agree assholes who break the law (especially politicians wielding power) should go down. We all need to stop this “you guys” shit, and yeah, I’m just as guilty as the rest of you. However, knocking that off also includes not being obtuse and ignoring blatant facts, whether those facts are “friendly” to your preferred party/candidates or not. As I read various statements made about this trump situation, it’s very clear nobody wants the guy protected, they just want the law universally applied, and correctly; that factually has not occurred. That’s the issue, not guys wanting Trump to get away with things. Though I think we all agree on applying the law universally, the specific problem here is some purposely stick there fingers in the ears and scream “la la la la la” when the lopsided application of law is highlighted.

  24. I think what you describe exists all over, just have to promote them better and entice people to go. A tight knit community is a great way to help this problem - it will make people actually care about others outside of themselves. Every neighborhood needs the 1 or 2 houses who are always down to host a weekend hang out or a party for no reason (or reason, whatever). Everyone else bring what’s needed so the host isn’t paying for it all. It’s really that easy, just need Americans to get back to the time where you knew your neighbors and sought out their company. That exists is parts of the US, but it doesn’t exist in too many places.
  25. What Lloyd said. The church was our society’s meeting place and source of morals and values (specifically the ones that transcend religion). Now social media and the MSM has replaced the church, both packed with anti-family and anti-moral garbage. And there in lies Pandora’s box - were never going back from SM (which is probably the worst thing to have ever happened to us in the modern era). So the only course correct now is parents need to sack up and actually work at maintaining a stable family and raising their kids correctly. They need to also help their local communities do this by being involved/aware about school issues. All the millions of people who hate all the BS going on, but are too big of pussies to stand up and say/do something, need to sack up and stop being weak candy asses. Some of you reading this right now are those pussies, I guarantee it. Do some introspection, then get off your asses and do something about the BS. How can you be willing to get in a gun fight, but you won’t speak at school board meetings? Why aren’t you or your spouse running for school board, city council, etc? Why do you complain to your neighbor over beers about all the trans mental health issues being pushed on kids, but you say nothing about your kids “celebrate trans or you’re a bigot” homework? If these describe you, even indirectly, you’re fucking up. But the good part is you can recognize it, and fix it.
