  2. I guess it depends on how you define the budget and requirements to get the dollars to fund it. Do you set a tax rate and spend what you collect or do you you set a spending level and tax at a rate to get it? The latter reeks of the Soviet 5 year plan which certainly was not based on a rational understanding of human nature and failed miserably. The former requires the ability of our Government to adjust spending to live within our means as the economy fluctuates. The lack of the ability to live within our means is also going to cause miserable failure.

  3. www.fairtax.org Tax consumption, not income. Prebate for necessities. Completely fair, easy to understand and implement.

  4. For any of you who frequent Southwest, with their new military contract, their military discounts are now substantial for last second travel. You have to call them on the phone, and the ticket is non-refundable. You can buy tickets day before travel for around $170 each way.

  7. This is 3 miles from my house, story broke when some Facebook postings surfaced right after the party and some parents complained...The best one was a picture of a 16 year old boy sitting in a chair while a hot bikini clad babe was upside in his lap, straddling his face with her legs and with her face between his legs. For a 16 year old that had to get him at attention.... Guess at only 33 herself she is trying to be the cool mom! Also last week here we had the 33 year old public librarian arrested for being caught in the sack with a 15 year old boy. She was pretty good looking too...

  8. Yeah, got it. I understand people are going to still buy necessities like gas, toilet paper...I'll even throw beer in that category. These necessities (minus the beer) are supposedly prebated up to a point based on your income. Do you really think people buy enough, even at a 23% tax rate, to generate and sustain the required revenue to run this country? That is a lot of shit paper. That is my point. We would be banking the revenue for the entire budget of the federal government on toilet paper, gas, and beer....an exaggeration I know, but in a down economy people aren't necessarily buying expensive things...certainly not enough to generate $4T in revenue. We aren't even talking state taxes yet. Consumption tax as a single source of revenue is a terrible idea....the people pushing this aren't thinking it through. Again...caveman here, but I'm open to learning something new.

  14. Gen Wells asked this question at the Q/A session at our base as well. He asked for a show of hands on how much the "health and wellness inspections" would improve the environment. When noone raised their hands, he pulled a SSgt out of the audience and she told him, and I am paraphrasing, "everyone shouldn't have to wear diapers just because one guy shits his pants." I thought it was well said.

  15. Did anyone notice the photo of a scantily clad young lady on the wall in one scene during last night's episode? I was dismayed & insulted. How can we trust these guys to execute this critical mission with blatantly offensive material on display where such fragile eyes can see it? Aside from that, it's a great show. *sarcasm off*

  19. The guys who signed up for the AFRC unit will still be flying Herks, just not for the FTU. All active duty USAF C-130 guys come through Little Rock for the FTU. Gunship guys just get an instrument qual before going on to their own FTU.
