  1. Spot on. It is interesting to consider what would happen if a right wing third party popped up in our system. As powerful as Elon is, I don’t think he would get the support he is anticipating. Republicans aren’t pulling chocks from camp Trump and the radical wing of the Democratic Party was just burning up Teslas and calling him a Nazi, all while being supported by some in democratic leadership. What’s easier to see playing out is the democrat party continuing to spiral into fractured irrelevance. By every measure, the Democrat party is utterly failing. Hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing or have fled from blue states to red, the party is polling positively in the low twenties, they’re losing in court on nearly every issue, something like 90-95% of counties in the country shifted right during the last election, donations to the DNC are drying up, more and more prominent people are switching party affiliation, Trump won all 7 swing states, the Joy Reids of the world are getting fired and the legacy media is on life support, etc. My point is, I can see the Democratic Party splitting (it may have already) before the Republican Party. I truly believe that the vast vast majority of Americans are done with the radical, irrational and crazy social experiments that the democrats represent. That is all they have left and instead of reading the room, they double down. I’m genuinely interested to see how this plays out. We can’t have one party rule in this country. We need two healthy parties to balance power. I hope the democrats can figure their problems out and rebuild into something more moderate.

  2. No, because as screwed up as the GOP is right now, a third party under Elon would simply hand power to the DNC. Given the absolute soulless depravity of modern democrats, our nation would not survive.

  3. Let me share with the OP, if you are gonna DOR because you know you will kill yourself/others because you suck at it, do it. No shame in calling it. You will survive. PS. A lot of us almost killed ourselves piloting, but lived to see another day. If you're getting eliminated by UPT because you suck at it, sorry but it happens. You will survive. If you DOR because of other influences, DON'T DO IT. I know a dude that quit because of his now ex-wife. Huge regrets for quitting. If you can hack the mish of piloting, carry on. The nags in your ears will go away, one way or another. Either they love you unconditionally, or they don't. Good luck

  4. They turn you into a missileer in which you spend the remainder of your ADSC telling everyone you didn't want to be a pilot anyways. And even though you think flying is lame, you could have flown fighters if you wanted to.

  5. $788,000. It's quite rural, halfway between Blue Lake and Willow Creek. There is not a lot of industry there which is why I believe the price was "relatively" low. Last week my realtor who assisted with the purchase told me 160 acres adjacent to our property went up for sale and asked if I was interested. I told her I obviously was, but cannot justify it now as I need to rapidly pay down the property because at 6.99%, interest is pretty insane. Purchase price for that was $375,000 if I recall with owner financing available at 10 years, 8%, with $75,000 down. Maybe one day, I just don't want to be working forever. I'd love to sell our home in San Diego and move up there full time and homestead, just not sure the wife is there yet. 😆

  6. The swamp is deep, that list would have destroyed both sides. It really sucks they are going to get away with it.

  7. I talked to Matt's father on Wednesday. They knew what the sentence would be and were ready for it to be over with so this Stephenson could get on with spending the rest of his miserable days behind bars and the family could get some closure and move on with their lives. Watching the Denver7 video was especially difficult, they have video of Matt with his kids walking through the local fair, a giant smile on his face. 10 minutes later their lives would change forever. The Douche who killed him had a chance to speak at the sentencing, he decided to complain he didn't have a fair trial and showed no remorse for driving with a BAC 3 times the legal limit. Matt's father was also an Air Force Pilot and he commented on the generosity of the USAF family which raised $169,795 for Matt's family through GoFundMe. Finally, a special thanks to @Sua Sponte who provided a very special item to Matt's family, thanks to him his children we be able to hear their father's voice for years to come. I hope this serves as a reminder to all, nothing is guaranteed. Call your mom, call you dad, never miss a chance to tell your loved ones that you care. RIP Matt, you will be missed and as long as I am around, you will be remembered.

  8. She is an absolute garbage human being. I hope never getting another professional job again is the best thing that happens to her. She deserves the worst.

  9. While I don't believe them for a second, if this is the path they're going to choose, so be it. In that case, I'd like the investigation on Jeffrey Epstein to pivot to the question of: Where the fuck did he get all that money? That always seems to be lost in the breathless discussion about supposed "lists." Dude was a former teacher who pivoted to finance, and by all accounts, was pretty lousy at it. But somehow, he amassed a fortune north of a half billion dollars, to include properties all over the globe. It's pretty clear he didn't get this money from legitimate financial trading. There is strong evidence that he had financial backing from someone or some entity. Where did he get he money? Who bankrolled Epstein? To what end? Those are the questions I'd like answered.

  10. There'll be a lot of dated info around here, but in general it depends on the circumstances of how you depart UPT. If you DOR (request your way out) you likely have a better chance of getting the job you want vs if you get washed out. I've known guys who DOR'd, got washed out, and even dudes that got FEB'd later in their careers and departed the flying world. Some became JAGs, missileers, and acquisitions officers. I would not go into UPT focused on what happens if you fail. If you genuinely don't like it, then you can quit and the world won't come to and end. If you try and hedge by quitting before you get washed out...well...don't do that. You won't be in a good position to judge just how well or poorly you're doing. Hang tough on this topic for a week or two and let those who are currently IPs in the training system chime in. They have busy lives and can't always get to the page immediately, but they will show up.

  13. Seems like a reasonable question. If anyone is familiar with today's personnel procedures, why not give him an informed and courteous answer?
