I've always thought that if at the end of your tax return, you didn't end up paying federal taxes, you shouldn't get to vote (with an exception for CZTE). You shouldn't get to decide how other people's money is spent. Otherwise, as soon as 51% of the population decides that they don't want to work at all and they just want to vote for politicians that will pay them to watch TV, they'll get their way.

I did NOT want to screw up and I was extremely focused (probably holding the stick so hard I had no blood in my fingers). About halfway down final I distinctly recall having a near out of body experience and thinking "man this is so fucking cool, I wish I could do this...WAIT...I AM doing this!"

I hear all of the pointy-noses guys saying T-38 training needs to be more relevant to what they do. I imagine circling isn't a big priority in F-22 and F-35 real world ops. Probably not in the B-2 and upcoming B-21 either. There are only so many bananas in the UPT syllabus. Save circling for FTU if needed But bring back formation landings, you pussies!

Manage expectations - family will not always be #1 (exceptions like emergencies/tragedies obviously). Don’t get so wrapped up in work you forget you have a family, meaning make time for them as best you can around work requirements. This means doing things she wants to do/is cool with on Sat during UPT. Take 30 min when you get home and sit down for dinner/hang out with your wife. It’s probably all you can give most of the time during the week, but you both need that 30 mins, for multiple reasons.

Yes, but then the follow up is, if losing a job offer is too much, what's the right punishment? So far all I hear is a whole bunch of nothing. No real consequences. So I'll take the Ackman approach. I would accept a year-long suspension as a fair punishment, but there's a 0% chance the universities take a stand on anything their DEI department doesn't explicitly forbid.

💯 I would say whenever you start drawing Social Security benefits, you're done voting. Once you become a ward of the state you have an incentive structure that no longer considers the long term success of the nation. All the conservative firebrands like my father who can quote the last 3 days of Fox News, but don't you DARE talk about reining in SS or Medicare spending, he earned that money! I've personally decided I will not vote for anyone over 65. That puts the president at 73-75 after two terms, which is right at the upper limit of where you can be reasonably sure the person is still sharp. Bonus points for getting under 55. This is a new red line for me after seeing Biden and Trump doing their amateur acting troop version of Grumpy Old Men, Mitch McConnell taking some involuntary naps at the podium, and Diane Feinstein literally dying from old age while still voting on Senate business. No more.

And your response to that is that I’m stupid. So again focus on the actual prison piece not whether or not he is charged or convicted. My money is that if Trump wins in 2024, he will be in the White House come January 20th, 2025, regardless of any state court outcomes. You can disagree and call me a stupid, but do you really think the country would survive with an elected president being in a state prison? Now as for Trump winning, I definitely have my doubts (and would much rather see someone else), but looking at the current polls and how bad Biden is doing, it’s definitely not out of the realm of realistic possibilities. As for comparing Joe military person to the president…ummm, it’s the same reason why Hillary won’t be charged/punished for her crimes with mishandling classified information, but airman snuffy would. Same applies to state crimes. The elites are rarely charged for their crimes, especially compared to everyday folks.

I very much disagree. If this was the case, any state can pass some silly law and charge a president for violating it. And as much as I dislike Trump personally, there’s a decent chance we may find out in a little over a year. Also if you think every other President has been squeaky clean (to include our current one) then I guess we’ll again have to agree to disagree.

Just so I understand you clearly…you honestly think that if Trump were to win in 2024, that a state would take him in and put him in prison? Or, if he was already in prison, not release him?…and I’m not asking about an article, I’m asking you what you personally believe would actually happen. Likewise what would happen if tomorrow South Dakota charged Biden with a crime…do you actually think Biden would stand trial as a sitting president, as well as be allowed to be put in state prison if convicted? Even as the libertarian here, I’m discussing what we believe would actually happen…not what the Hamas loving Harvard folks write about.

I remember my first, and also one of nearly my last. As a student on the wing of the OG…he decided that leaving the power back at 80% post-correction while on ILS glidepath and hard IMC was good for formation integrity. I was having a hell of a time staying in position but didn’t have the SA to cross check my airspeed. Apparently my IP, and lead didn’t either. So off we went into an IMC, fingertip TP stall at 600’ AGL. That was just enough altitude for us to fall away from each other and break out of the weather. Lead was about 500’ in front and landed about 3k down. I didn’t keep the burners lit as long and touched down 750’ down, 30kts flared off. Good times.

1200 hours in the T-38 and never had a scary moment during a circling approach. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the "my jet" and go-around with selected throttle position proportional to pucker factor during overhead patterns. Roll, relax, max works every time.

I said multiple times, forced by the US. I do not care if Ukraine forces their men to fight. We have a draft as well. He wasn't in a "defensive position" because no one was going to attack Russia. Are we in a "defensive position" when Mexico elects an anti-US president? No. We aren't. It is Ukraine's job to decide what is worth fighting. It is our job to decide what is worth supporting.
