A complete failure of journalism because they were so jaded with hate. When you think of division in this country remember it was Hillary and the DNC that drug us all through the mud with lies when we could have been focused on helping this country. This is where you get into constitutional law and the exact difference between slander/libel and free speech. In this example Aunt Karen is a private person not acting in a professional or public capacity, so when she says "I hate Hillary and I think she eats babies," that would be constitutionally considered an opinion and protected by free speech. Alternate scenario: Aunt Karen is a Fox News correspondent and she posts on FB "it is my professional journalistic opinion that Hillary eats babies." This would probably rise to defamation and Karen would be sueable for libel. Either way, section 230 protects FB from liability so they should leave the posts alone and let the chips fall where they may.

At the very least the report should have been investigated but they immediately suffocated the story and they suspended a new organization for posting an article about the laptop, come on man...seriously, come on man! To this day Vladimir Putin can post his tripe, the leader of the Taliban can preach hate and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei can tweet calling for genocide but a former President is banned.

What are you defending here man? What's your position? That tech shouldn't be regulated? Is it only convenient to decree regulation when it's an industry you find inconvenient or do you also believe we should remove all regulation on energy, automotive or lending? They’ll pick and choose the footage & stills they decide to show. Probably won’t fool many in the west, but the domestic audience is an important one for Putin and a good portion of them seem to be willing to choke down whatever story the state serves them. Hopefully things will change as Russian soldiers fail to return home, store shelves continue to get barer, and upper middle class & rich Russian citizens continue to have their travel privileges curtailed. Even domestic travel will eventually become difficult as Russian airlines struggle to maintain the hundreds of aircraft they have essentially stolen from western leasing companies.

I understand that sentiment, and I don't want to come off as arrogant or cocky or anything like that. But I am going to fly fighters. At this point in time I simply cannot envision myself doing anything else. Even considering an alternative feels wrong. I would rather gamble with the uncertainty of AD and bet on myself than have the certainty of something I KNOW I do not want.

If you are absolutely sure this is what you were put on this earth to do, have you considered active duty? Or heavy units? Or enlisting in an ANG unit to gain experience and get to know the squadron better? You're self-selecting to the most difficult group to be hired into and you're already fighting an uphill battle compared to many of your fellow applicants. Having a PPL is 100% a gateway because the Guard loses the pilot slot if you wash out of UPT. They can afford to be picky with who they select, and they should be. If you wash out they don't get a chance to fill your slot with an alternate, that money is gone. Think about this from the SQ/CC point of view, are you willing to wager the one or two slots per year you get on someone with zero flight time? Especially when you're getting 100-200 applicants per year for each pilot slot, many of whom have 90s across the board on AFOQT/TBAS, great GPAs, and a PPL in addition to a good work ethic? Active duty is where the Air Force can afford to take chances on people because they own you and can send you down another career path if you don't make it. The Guard doesn't have that luxury. If you want to bump your chances with guard fighter units, find a way to make the PPL happen.

It is good and in the interest of a whole lot of people to continue escalating this war. Imagine how much more money Lockheed, L3, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Boeing, Northrop, and others could make if this carried on forever! It's great for them and the politicians they pay!
