Hi guys New poster here. I wanted to inquire as to what schools are military friendly/government stationed-overseas-friendly for getting the online MBA ? I have seen some ads for Darden Univ Virgina and also Colorado State University. Thanks !

I recently got assigned KC-10's to Travis, and will be moving there (I assume) within the next month or so. I was wondering if anyone that is based there could give me information on where to live, and where NOT to live. I recently saw that ghetto video about Fairfield, CA and figured I'd post this. I am not looking to buy at the moment, just rent (apartment, condo, house, townhouse, etc). My girlfriend works in advertising out of Atlanta right now, and is currently searching for jobs out west. Anyone know if the folks at Flight Safety can/will remove the Centerline Thrust Restriction to an FAA Comm/Multi when doing the checkride for MC-12 training? I've heard directly contradicting information; Flight Safety's own information packet says that they won't allow the checkride to count as an ATP / Be-350 type ride if the student has the Restriction, which implies that the student needs that Restriction removed the minute they walk in the door on the first day. 2ndhand I've heard that more than one student has shown up to training with the Restriction, had Flight Safety add the Vmc Demo maneuver series into the checkride itself, and was able to get the ATP …

I'm giving this some serious thought...feeling I may be vulnerable for a 365 soon anyway, so I want to pick something I might actually enjoy doing...something new and different, something challenging and rewarding. And some may call me crazy, but Iraqi UPT in Cessna 172s and Caravans...now THAT's something different and may be a good change of pace for me. The software is free--I have written it purely for the benefit of my fellow pilots who may wish to use Google Earth to help with mission planning. I want to start using an online logbook. I have heard of many people keeping their logbook on Excel, but I like the redundancy of the internet. Does anyone currently use an online logbook or have a recommendation about which one to use?

I'm not going to start a poll because - no offense to anybody who has started a poll, but - polls are gay. I want to know how often young individuals in the Air Force are mentored. I'm not talking about mentoring in the sense of slamming a guy up against the wall and putting a 3000 PSI finger in his chest, I'm talking about - has a SQ/CC, FL/CC, hell...even a 2FL....ever sat you down and mentored you? Has he asked you what you want to do with your AF career? Has he explained to you how the AFPC process works and why you should be smart on it? Is the AF getting the Harvest Hawk package like the USMC for their C-130s? It would be an added plus for the airlift fleet and bring more fight to the enemy. Tac Air isn't needed as much when the largest enemy vehicle is a Toyota 4x4 in Afgan. Let the C-130s drop the Candy and see who picks it up. If it's the bad guys, fire them up. Perhaps the CoS being an old AC-130 guy will find the funding. How much would one F-35 cost anyway? Bet you can get 5 Harvest Hawk packages for the price of one F-35. Had this passed to me by my father-in-law. Did a quick search to try to avoid any duplication and didn't see it. Wanted to share. Tango Mike Mike Green Beret in Vietnam who came to the aid of a surrounded and wounded team with a knife and a med kit. Shot 7 times, two grenade wounds, broken jaw, and bayonet wounds in both arms. Fought off the enemy calling in air strikes and getting a helo to take the wounded out. After that was shot down while all were on board he did the same thing until he could call in another. My girlfriend is going to PCS to Wright-Patt in about two weeks and is looking for a nice neighborhood to find an apartment, and/or for the place that a lot of the junior officers live. If anybody has any insight, whether you have been stationed there before or if you are there now. Thanks.

Here is the situation, I am prior service with ten years enlisted. I have recently completed a commissioning program and have been on hold to enter active duty due to the draw down. I am two weeks out from my training start dates and I still do not have orders. What we have been told is that AFPC finance is backed up with thousands of orders and apparently no method for completing them for individuals who are leaving in the next few weeks. My concerns are the following: can I proceed to training without orders, how can I PCS my family to my gaining station without orders, and how do I cover the cost of my training since I do not have a GTC. I used to be pretty active in this forum when I was interviewing with the guard/af reserve. I got sick of sitting around so I joined the Marines. I was voluntold to go to Primary at Vance, so I was trying to see if anyone was looking for a roommate. I was looking to get a place with a extra room that we can use for studying. So, I get the letter in the mail last week (while I'm deployed) saying that I owe the gov't money from a PCS that is 4+ years old. Any chance they waited too long to send out this request and I can totally disregard it? Is there a statute of limitations on when they can ask for this money back? I've searched the boards with no luck, and then I tried to search the DFAS website, might as well just asked to be kicked in the nuts for 30 minutes. Hello, I have been looking into earning a commision in the Marine corps. My question is, are there pilots in the USMC Reserves? if so, is it only from AD after an extended period of time or whats the deal? thanks

Wilson's parents, but this first half just blows me away. What in the world in your life could be so important that you can't give up your seat to a family who is trying to get home to their son's funeral? This showcases what is wrong with people these days. It's too bad there aren't more folks out there like the author.
