I'm trying to write a couple LOEs and it's been a while. I've gone on e-publishing and can't seem to find the AF Form 77. Has it been replaced by something else? Is there any other way to write a letter of evaluation?

What are some cool assignment night themes guys have had? I'm trying to gather ideas for something good. For the last class, we did a Price is Right theme. Guys were told to "Come on Down" as crews to the front of the room, then an F-15 item was put up on the screen that they had to guess the price of (GBU-12, AMRAAM, Gallon of JP-8, etc). Whoever got the closest to the price without going over was chosen to step up to the screen and a "Wheel" of sorts was spun that went through all the bases and stopped on their assignment. What are some other good themes you've seen?

I am just curious if ANYONE has heard of a Flyer getting a Civilian Institution slot from AFIT at any point in their career. Trying to put together some facts to take with me and see how far I can get. If you know of anyone that has gotten the 18 months off to go do this, PLEASE let me know!!! I want the Air Force as a career so I don't know why it would be a big deal, as I would continue flying afterward???? Can anyone offer anything. Thanks

I searched but couldn't find any good info. Question for the masses... I've been in for 4 years, met my service obligation, and am planning to get out. I was going to separate under the "Completed ADSC" option but just recieved an assignment RIP and now have the option of separating under the 7-Day Option (AKA "Decline PCS or Assignment"). MPF says there is no difference when choosing which provision to separate under. However, I'm not so eaily convinced. Does anyone have any gouge on which option to chose? Does it matter for your DD214? I'm suffering at the 'Deid so any help would be much appreciated!

I'm not going to start a poll because - no offense to anybody who has started a poll, but - polls are gay. I want to know how often young individuals in the Air Force are mentored. I'm not talking about mentoring in the sense of slamming a guy up against the wall and putting a 3000 PSI finger in his chest, I'm talking about - has a SQ/CC, FL/CC, hell...even a 2FL....ever sat you down and mentored you? Has he asked you what you want to do with your AF career? Has he explained to you how the AFPC process works and why you should be smart on it? Has he explained to you why you should take 6-9 minutes a week to scribble down accomplishments to later hand in to your sup…

I am running into some problems trying to see if I qualify for partial DLA. I was forced moved because of renovations from one base housing unit to another. From reading JFTR Vol 1 U-5630 Ch. 5, Part G, Para 15, it seems as though I would qualify. However, no one at my base seems to know who is suppose to fund it. They need a LOA (line of accounting?) to process the payment, but finance sends me to TMO, who sends me to housing, who sends me to Privatized housing, who sends me to finance, and the circle continues. Has anyone had an experience with this or any idea on how to help? Thanks in advance!

This is why Finance is always closed for "training" apparently… Unbelievable! https://www.vance.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123368125 Senior Air Force leaders have made clear that sexual harassment and sexual assault have no place in today's Air Force. One local commander decided to go beyond briefings and PowerPoint slides and try to catch her people doing the right thing. "I wanted to see if anyone in my unit would say something about a questionable photo in the work place," said Mazza. She picked the lieutenant's desk because she thought an airman would be easier to approach than the new officer in the organization. It needed to be a challenge for her people…

Interesting - Maj. Gen. Steven Kwast said, responsible for the USAF portion of the QDR is giving a more balanced view of the USAF's tech future. In what might be seen as a challenge to the USAF Chief Scientist's report, Gen Kwast argues against placing all of the USAF's "eggs" into the RPA basket. In essence, he sites the the immature nature of the technology and the need to develop achievable operational and technical capabilities. Good points all... Further he denies any rumours of F-35 cancellation, calling it an important part of the overall concept of operations. Note that this is just the USAF point of view, and that once the QDR starts many pre-concieved no…

MARSRADIO continues to provide free HF communications for land, air and sea DoD assets as authorized by DoDi 4620.02. We want to say a big THANK YOU to our military, active and retired, for your service to our country. Come up to our net for any assistance that we can supply. In addition to regular official and morale phone patches, we have handled in-flight emergencies and even provided sports scores. It is all about supporting you. While still spotty, conditions are improving into Europe, Africa and the Pacific.

Here's the link: https://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35678731/ns/politics/ It seems the reliable numbers are hard to find, but it seems unlikely that we'll get as many F-35s as we need to replace the F-16, F-18 AND A-10 if the cost is really that high. I wonder how the "partner nations" are taking the news. I wish defense contractors and the government could build more realistic cost growth estimates into the acquisitions process so that we don't keep paying 2x as much for a system as we originally were told. It makes the whole bidding system just seem dishonest when you know contractors like Lockheed have been building weapons systems for hundreds of projects and know …

Hello everyone! Does anyone have any experience or know someone with experience with crosstraining from a loadmaster to a pilot or navigator? I am pretty sure I am about to take a loadmaster position with the 136th Airlift Unit in Fort Worth, but at the same time not losing my dream of becoming a pilot or navigator. Thanks for your insight and opinions! Justin

This past weekend I got a chance to go to Eglin AFB on a base visit for ROTC. We toured one of the facilities which I believe was a training center for Eagle crew chiefs. Inside of this building was a mock cockpit of an F-15 and one of the NCOs started explaining some of the features. She told us how one feature exclusive to Eagles was "Anti-Skid," which apparently is a switch in the cockpit that a pilot can operatate, and when activated, he/she can fly in totally coordinated flight without using the rudders (on-board computers operate the rudders automatically.) Can any pilots on this board explain this feature in greater detail? What phases of flight is it used in…

You would think the Navy would have asked this question a long, long time ago.... but, I just had a "Pipeline Production Consultant" (well-paid civilian) ask me why, in my opinion, the AF primary syllabus (T-6/T-37) could be completed in 10-ish weeks less time than the Navy's??? I've done a brief search, but haven't been able to find a copy of the T-6 syllabus. I'd like to peruse it and see what, if any, additional instruction/ flights Navy T-34 guys get that AF guys don't. Anybody able to get me one of these? We're also wondering why it takes at least 15 weeks longer to qual a Navy F-18 driver than it does an AF F-15E pilot. Of course Carrier Qual takes som…
