Last update from Apr 16 said candidate locations would be identified by summer 16.( https://www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/719458/af-releases-criteria-for-basing-new-rpa-units.aspx) Does anyone here know anything new or is it still shutup and color? With the first few batches of 18xers ready to punch soon I thought maybe there would be good sourced rumors as to what to expect.

More bad news for the year. A nickel on the grass for another good dude. No word on base, just "shortly after takeoff" and not combat related. https://www.businessinsider.com/an-american-f-16-pilot-was-killed-in-a-crash-in-the-middle-east-2014-12

Need a little help. Had a trip pop up in the next two days a need an airline ticket. Being the holidays can’t get a DTS approval AND all the fund cites don’t have enough money in them. Don’t want to put it on my credit card because the OG/RA doesn’t reimburse personal cards. Any suggestions?

I know that I'm going to get chewed and spit out for this but oh well. (I did read the other 1 thread on this board about OSI) Anyone have any info on OSI for me? I've learned what I can from the internet so not much help there, unless I'm missing some sites. I've met with the only AFOSI agent in my state once but she was given a 2 week deployment notice and now is in Iraq. I've tried emailing their "info" personnel but haven't heard anything back. I'm mainly looking for selection info, what they take into account, what's most important etc. I know about the actual timeline, but not what's important and what makes someone marketable for the job. Anything you…

So here is the deal. I know most people are highly against ERAU when it comes to their aero sci degree and all of the airline hopefulls, but what would you tell someone who is considering riddle for the purposes of trying to be in one of the best ROTC detachments in hopes of a UPT slot, and wants to be around aviation 24/7? Would you still advise against it. From searching it seems that the majority feel that it is a good school if you arn't in the riddle bubble of garunteed airline pilot after grad. Also, some argue that it is the best ROTC det. due to the number of UPT slots (due to the amount of people seeking them there), but others say the size is what makes it hard…

Didn't want to derail the previous thread about Chris, Marcus and Chuck, so here's a new one. I think a Jolly flight lead would be a much better choice for RMC than looking to the next available fighter asset.

Nice accomplishment! I do take a litle umbrage with using the term "Best Squadron" when only air defense units were included, as IMHO the best fighter squadron in the CAF today has got to be someone actually fighting. I've highlighted a few lines that I found interesting.

So I know there is an entire thread on ADSC waivers associated w/ PC. Does anyone have any data points on waivers for retiring. I currently have 1 ADSC for the GI bill which takes me 6 months passed the period at which I am eligible to retire. Looking for any information on probably, or not, if getting a waiver to retire earlier. Thanks. Bode

https://www.airforcetimes.com/articles/are-the-f-15-eagles-days-numbered https://fightersweep.com/7388/air-force-considering-retirement-f-15cd-models-mid-2020s/ Real curious what insight the experienced crowd has to these articles and any idea if it's even feasible or just another cage rattle like the efforts to retire the Hog. TLDR: General tells HASC today that big blue can replace 15's with Vipers.

This is a great story in ADN about PJs serving in OEF, recounting one day during Operation Bulldog Bite. It was a phenomenal story to hear first hand, and the ADN reporter actually did a good job. This is what should be in the press, not some all-female crew flying a KC-10. Makes me wonder if any shoes at Bagram had any clue what was going on outside the wire while this was going down... Read this article while snooping on Air Force Times... Consider it a learning tool for all... ********************************************** Military pension would be hard to match By Barbara H. Pietrowski - Special to the Times It's fairly easy to calculate the dollar amount of a military pension after 20 years of active service, and we know a military pension is indexed for inflation so that it goes up over time as cost-of-living increases are granted. But what is it really worth to you? One way to answer this question is to ask: "How much money would I need in a retirement nest egg to give me a monthly income instead of my military pension?" …

Hello all, This is more of a "curiosity killed the cat" post, and a post that may have been answered somewhere I cannot find on this forum, so my apologies in advance for the weak searching capabilities. Cutting to the chase, how does CV-22 Osprey assignments happen out of pilot training. I have read that dropping the Osprey only occurs out of the newer HTN training pipeline, but I have also read that you can drop the Osprey from the T-38 and the T-1 through the typical T-6 UPT. Could a UPT grad for example, drop the Osprey from say the T-1 track? I look forward to reading any and all information given, -Random

Of course, the obvious choice at face value is Travis, but I'd like to hear what anyone might have to say regarding Dover. I feel like my wife and I have Cali blinders on and I'd like to take a step back to make sure we are taking everything into consideration. If anyone has lived in both places it would be great to hear about schools for kids, commuting, crime, areas to live, how drastic the cost of living difference is, home buying, etc. But all info is welcome and appreciated.

Once upon a time a pilot found a beautiful princess and asked her, "Will you marry me?" The princess said, "No!" And the pilot lived happily ever after and flew jets all over the world and drove hot cars and chased skinny long-legged big-breasted flight attendants and hunted and fished and went to topless bars and dated women half his age and drank Weihenstephaner German beer and Captain Morgan and never heard bitching and never paid child support or alimony and kept his house and guns and ate cold leftover meals, potato chips and beans and blew enormous farts and never got cheated on while he was at work and all his friends and family thought he was frickin' cool as…

I know this sounds like a mother AF survey, but it's totally a straw poll. Maybe the higher ups will watch and listen, then again, maybe they will stop loss.
