Creep-o-riffic. Is That a Pilot in Your Pocket? By Lakshmi Sandhana Story location: https://www.wired.com/news/medtech/0,1286,65438,00.html 02:00 AM Oct. 23, 2004 PT Somewhere in Florida, 25,000 disembodied rat neurons are thinking about flying an F-22. These neurons are growing on top of a multi-electrode array and form a living "brain" that's hooked up to a flight simulator on a desktop computer. When information on the simulated aircraft's horizontal and vertical movements are fed into the brain by stimulating the electrodes, the neurons fire away in patterns that are then used to control its "body" -- the simulated aircraft. "It's as if the …

Say I wanted to walk over to the friendly SF shack and qualify on the M-9. Anyone know how to go about this or any details? Specifically, is it limited to those deploying, or can anyone just walk over and get it done? Also, what are the requirements for qualifiying / marksman? I'm full of questions 'cause I've been shooting now for about a year with my H&K, and I want to make it official that I know how to shoot. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'll start by giving the timeline of events. March 2004 - selected for pilot slot at board 0403. March 2004 - took FC1 August 2004 - told I had a cavity and needed to get it fixed, was never told this 5 months earlier. August 2004 - got tooth fixed, went back to base for dental checkup, was told the tooth next to it needed to be fixed as well. September 2004 - had adjacent tooth fixed, faxed proof of dental work to Flight Medicine who took it to the AF dentist who then signed off on my FC1 (allegedly). October 2004 - called recruiter several times trying to figure out what was going on, every time told he would look into it and call me back but ne…

Here's another question about FT. I was listening to the awards that were given out to people in my Det and got to wondering about what awards there are. I know I heard physical fitness, academic, and marksmanship. Does anyone know where I can find a list of the possible awards and the criteria for earning them?

If any pilots/co-pilots are interested in a 60 or 120 day tour at the Deid with an AFRC C-130 unit from Jan-Apr, send me a PM. The catch with a 60 day rot is that you have to have a buddy to do the other 60.

Fellow pilots, Cranium's up & FYI: New charting specification should appear in the NTAP soon: Here's a sneak peak (attachment). Also, "Taxi into Position and Hold" is going away, to be replaced by "Line up and Wait" even here in the CONUS. Link below to new rules on use of LUAW. FAA Notice Fly safe! I was laid off from my job a little over a year ago. I am going back into the reserves as a flight engineer. I have finished my physical and everything and just waiting to hear back, but the recruiter sent me an e-mail stating that i need to fill out paperwork for my security clear and she said if I have marks on my credit that they need to be explained. My thing is that the economy is crap and i really only have knocks on my credit from my student loans. Will this prevent me from getting in? Thanks
