This board has a spam prevention control which groups all newly registered users into the group "User on Probation." This status lasts for for 48 hours after you confirm your account and while you are a member of this group, all posts must be approved by a moderator and you cannot start any new topics. This is primarily a spam prevention effort, but it also serves to let the noobs hang out and look through the forums for a while before asking a potentially dumb or previously answered question. If you are newly registered and would like to bypass this waiting period, send me a PM and I will unlock it. Do not reply to this thread, as that won't necessarily alert me.

Hey folks, over the next few weeks, I'll be migrating to a newer server. There may be some random down time and/or a few lost posts when I "flip the switch". I'll alert everybody with a sticky post and it'll be in the middle of the night sometime in the next few weeks.

I am continually being redirected away from this site to an amazon “ad” is this just me?

I'm trying to get in touch with someone at Baseops to place some advertisements, but no one has responded to multiple messages through their feedback form or Facebook messaging. The buyads.com link on the "advertise" page links to a dead location. Anyone have an idea of who to talk to about advertising since Rich has passed (RIP)? I see the site has been recently updated, so someone must be putting some time into it. Cheers.

Alright, against my will I apparently have been upgraded to IE 7.0. One of the 'perks' to this upgraded service is that it has a built in pop-up blocker which I cannot figure out how to disable. Anytime I try to click on something within this site that has a pop-up (post numbers, hyperlinks in the reply page), it pops up the "IE has disabled the pop-up blocker...bla bla...click here for options." From there I can select, "temporarily allow pop-ups" but I have to do it at every new page. Anybody know if there's a way to permanently disable this for specific sites?

Embedded YouTube videos do not show on the android app. Tested multiple times on the flying videos thread. Also sometimes the app crashes when refreshing the "unread section or switching betweeen "timeline" and "unread." Using latest android os.

Can we get the app updated to take advantage of the extra screen real estate on the iPhone X and newer phones please? The black bars at the top and bottom make me sad.

The only reason I bring this up is because it has helped me a lot in the past, and even now on occasion. Especially when I first started my AF quest by reading on here and trying to learn how to secure a slot. Now that I'm well on my way I've noticed that sometimes there still is an occasional acronym or term that I find myself reading and scratching my head trying to learn the meaning through context. Question: is it possible to update the glossary from time to time or is it easier for readers just to ask definitions in the forums and get destroyed by everyone for not searching. Just curious what everyone thinks about a baseops chat feature, similar to the one facebook and gmail use. I think it would be really handy for quick comms between members without going through the formalities and bandwidth issues of PM's.

I was doing a google for something and ended up on one of the TDY gouge pages of your wiki area. One thing I noticed was that the home page located here>> The baseops wiki page has been vandalized numerous times since the 27th of July 2009 with extensive spam links. I reverted it back to what appears to be the last good version from last October. I would suggest that someone with admin privileges at a minimum make that page protected so only certain members can edit it. I think it would be safe to assume without the page protection, the spammers would just come back and revert once again to their last spam edits for that page. I did not come across any of the…

For those of you with privacy concerns. Google Adsense, Google Analytics and Viglink ad bots are tracking this website. There is also a google supercookie tracking you as well. I use ghostery , AdBlock and Disconnect on my safari. I think FireFox has the same extensions. Love this forum, just wanted you to know. Just found DoubleClick and Google +1 as well. For you superfreaks, DoubleClick tracks you on F-Book. If any of you have 4 star general concerns......

Biff's alt went on a rampage

First off we want to thank everyone for making this such an informative, interactive and interesting forum. Hopefully as of late you've noticed some site improvements and recent changes across the sites. We are far from done! We want to continue to build and improve upon the Baseops network. That being said, if you notice any dead links and/or information or content that is out of date, please let us know. It would be helpful if you could be as detailed as possible and we will see that it gets updated in short order. We have already had an influx of feedback and suggestions - please keep them coming! Did anyone have any log in issues w/ this new server? I had to re-registar for this sign in, b/c I can't seem to access my other username even though it does still exsist. I got the email, vailidated and got the temporary password which the server doesn't reconize. Any ideas?

In the SARC thread. I can see that there are a bunch of new posts (says 22 new). When I click on the thread, I can't read any posts after nsplayer's 9 hours ago.

I get an error message when I try and upvote posts from Safari mobile browser on my iPhone. Just started today, had no issues yesterday.

So I fucked up and changed my theme from IP.Board to IP.Board (Pre 3.2). I can only post from my phone now and I can't seem to find the Change theme button in this format. Anyone have ideas for switching it back?

I am getting a database error when I try to open a thread in General Discussion. Not sure if it's temporary or not, but it's been occuring for the last 5 minutes for me.

I have over 50 messages saved, and with the new forum, it says I have to drop 50 or less to begin pm'ing again. Can you point me toward how I delete messages to get below 50? I do not see a DELETE function like on other sites.

This should be resolved now. Something caused a few tables to shit the bed. I had to do some uber-nerd level MySQL stuff to fix things.
