I'm guessing I'm just ignorant how to change things...

But...

When I click on a topic, it goes to the first page of that topic. I'd prefer it go to the last page... or better yet, to the first post since I was last on that topic. Is there a way to change that setting?
Each topic shows up with a few sentences of the very first post of that topic. Is there a way to turn off those sentences, so that I can see more topics on the page without the extra text?

Android App Issues

Embedded YouTube videos do not show on the android app. Tested multiple times on the flying videos thread.

Also sometimes the app crashes when refreshing the "unread section or switching betweeen "timeline" and "unread."

Using latest android os.

Terrible advertising

Did the advertising on these forms just get a whole lot worse for anybody else? It seems like I have to click through five pop ups and banners now just to navigate to the next topic. I'm not sure I can browse the forums much longer like this, but I wanted to make sure it's not just my phone

I messaged Baseops with the Contact section at the bottom of this website, but I never got a response. I would like to delete this account please. I know the individual posts will be still in their threads, but I just want my account to be gone. Do I need to post porn or something? Spam? Go full ANG and post classified material from my Discord server?

Is there anyway to "mute" a particular user when looking at a thread?

Mobile app inop

I haven't been able to see anything or log in on mobile since last week. I tried to update the app but it seems to be gone from the Google play store. It has stopped working for me for a couple days before but never this long. There's a solid chance I'm missing something but I'd like to see it working again.

After a few days where I could not login at all due to security warnings, for the last several weeks my browser prominently notes the site is "not secure" when I go on BODN. Digging a little deeper, google help tells me "Proceed with caution. Something is severely wrong with the privacy of this site’s connection." Using Chrome with automatic updates on a Macbook Air.

We'll be making a transition over to a newer server over the course of the next 5-7 business days (ie starting tomorrow). There may be a period of time where your posts appear, then an hour or two later they disappear. I'll do my best to put up a warning banner at the top during that short (likely hour long) period where posts could get lost.

I get an error message when I try and upvote posts from Safari mobile browser on my iPhone. Just started today, had no issues yesterday.

Forced to reset password every time I visit the site

I changed my password intentionally (on the account settings page); however, every time I try to sign in with the new password, Baseops states the password is wrong. The only way to log in is to click “Forgot Password” and follow the email that is sent. It seems the site is not saving password changes properly.

Popups blocking "submit reply" button

Never happened before but this Hilton popup at the bottom of the screen goes right over the bottom of the reply/message container. Unable to click to enter reply. Tried it on Chrome, Edge and IE. Hilton - you are killing me!

Thread subscription e-mail notifications broken

E-mail notifications for thread subscriptions no longer appear to be coming through. Doesn't appear to be related to spam folder settings (no BaseOps/FlyingSquadron emails showing up there in my Gmail).

In case it helps, the last notification I received on my subscribed thread was on December 4th and there were new posts starting on December 6th which didn't seem to generate e-mail notifications.

Issue replicated by @M2 in this thread.
