  1. Past hour
  2. You're arguing about what dead guy would do, and I'm saying said dead guy should be a model of leadership. You can never prove your point, but I can continue to compare a historical figure to a TV talking head. If you think I'm displeased only with him holding a meeting, you haven't been paying attention. Pete is not a leader and I don't see him growing into one.
  3. Today
  4. And I’m just curious what plugs do you have to get this info lol. I myself know people in high places but none particularly in AFPC.
  5. What I know: AFPC/DPMO personnel working UFT packages were furloughed two days after the board finalized their list. So while they had a little time to start moving packages forward, they had not yet gotten to coordinating with A1, assignments teams, etc. before the shutdown. Uniformed personnel at AFPC should still be <working> but my understanding is the UFT team is entirely civilians. 😞 Speculation: they will probably push faster once the govt reopens, but only so much can be done in so long. The time AFPC can "flex" their standard timeline to accelerate processing results is the difference between the standard release date and a delayed release that still arrives earlier than the lag duration of the shutdown. But this year the selection process timeline was shortened (down to 3 months instead of 3.5 months), so they may already be on a condensed timeline and therefore not have much ability to accelerate release of results further. At least this pretty much guarantees nobody will be getting an RNLTD during the holidays.
  6. At the end of the day, they're all just grasping at a different part of the elephant. Still blind. If I hear Rogan say one more time that the Fire Department (public utility) is socialism (central planning the means of production) again...
  7. Coleman is a brilliant young thinker along the lines of a Victor Davis Hanson, Thomas Sowell, or William F Buckley type figure. His podcasts never disappoint, even with a weak debate partner like Dave.
  8. As I said, Marshall would have had an in-person meeting, just as Hegseth did. By all means though, continue to argue about points I didn't make...as is tradition.
  9. Nope, you indexed a solid American. I say hell yes. Said current staff is painfully no match for your standard, yet you don't voice that. Why? Shouldn't we have good, upstanding Americans lead this nation? I don't get it. Honest question, what is so wrong with that? You're still in the painted corner.
  10. The guy who owns my local gun shop is an M1 collector, and I asked him to take a look just to make sure it seemed fine. We got the gun from my wife's family, apparently the friend of an uncle or something brought it back from the war. The mags don't look ancient, but the only markings on them are "U" on one, "SW" on another couple, and "M2" on the extended. Right now the site isn't letting me upload pics. From AI: "In summary, your "U" and "SW" marked magazines are authentic pieces of World War II history. Your extended "M2" magazine is more likely a later, commercial product, but a careful examination of its features can help to more definitively determine its provenance"
  11. Anyone listen to Dave Smith on Coleman Hughes' podcast? It's loonnnggg (3.5 hours), and I can't understand how Coleman can stand to play nice with one of the most dishonest "pundits" in media right now, but it was fascinating to hear how full of shit Smith is. Despite his ignorance, Smith is a pretty good example of why libertarianism is an unworkable political philosophy and is more of a starting point for American thought. There's definitely too many comedians parading around as political historians and analysts.
  12. Yesterday
  13. No. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

@Lord Ratner So basically, let it rip! What mags do you use/where’d you get them?
  15. Biff? Nahh, he’s a Sexual Tyrannosaurus if you ask BQZip’s Mom though!
  16. No, but he did call dibs.
  17. Biff I've gotta ask, were you that squadron member?
  18. One of my last CC calls was pretty gnarly. We all got introduced to a new transexual squadron member. He/she was probably the worst pilot I ever flew with.
  19. Finally, a post under 690 words.
  20. What commander's call isn't a huge waste of time, yet they still continue to happen? Not saying this was cost effective, but when has that mattered in the DoD/DoW? I recognized an Army four star in attendance who retired the next day. Not judging, just some observations...and honestly it's not worth debating!
  21. Sure. You're a bad-faith debate participant who's gotten addicted to political news theater. Even Boomer could keep focused long enough to read that.
  22. Can I get a TL; DR?
  23. Reward hard work and attitude, not necessarily the result.

But still powerful enough to kill. My grandfather carried an M1 Carbine across the pacific and won a battlefield commission. Old school deployments...he left in 1942 and came home in 1946. He said he liked it because it was light and maneuverable in the jungle. Ammo was light and he carried a lot of extra rounds and his 1911 for backup. Break Break - the ATF is in another big fight.
  25. You said who your barometer was and I said who mine was. Simple as that. Until we're in WWIII we'll never know if any Sec Def would have matched up to CoS Marshall. Nice try though. Having political arguments with ppl butt hurt over who's in office so they come to the internet for "wins" isn't my idea of healthy living.
