  2. The Navy/DoD will do an Officer Grade Determination to decide at what lower grade he last served honorably. In theory that could be as low as an O-1. If he were still active and received a dismissal he’d lose all of his retirement. Since he’s retired I’m not sure if that’s an option. The sentencing will be interesting to see.

  4. I don't hate cops, my brother is a cop, but cases like this clearly demonstrate why qualified immunity needs to end or at a minimum be seriously modified. Several layers to this case and the one that disturbs me the most is what happened while in custody. They supervisor running the detention facility tells him if he doesn't shut up he is going to get punched in the face...he says it several times AND tells the guy we have cameras and audio. Qualified immunity was invoked and approved by both the lower level federal court and the circuit...thank god SCOTUS stepped in.
  5. I think it has a lot to do with his Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, she is no nonsense and he seems to listen to her. He was certainly more (relatively), disciplined during this election. Supposedly she has drastically reduced access and the ability of his family and far right influencers to simply walk into the Oval. My wife hates politics and rarely watches any coverage but together we watched part of one of his speeches in the Middle East last week. The minute he went off script and started dropping the "most powerful, rigged election, horrible people" comments she couldn't help herself..."can't he just keep his mouth closed and enact his policies." Tapper used to be a journalist, I used to watch his segments on CNN, sad when he converted to mouthpiece. Joe Scarborough - “I spent, as I’ve said before, two and a half, three hours with Joe Biden in the White House, all over the White House, talking at length, at length and in depth about foreign policy matters. And he was as sharp as anybody else I’ve spoken to and spoke actually like a man who’s been doing this since he was 29 years old and knew world leaders.” The GOP seems determined to investigate what happened at the end of JB's term, yesterday senior DNC folks suggested any investigation should be stopped now that Joe has been diagnosed with cancer. I hope they continue, not as retribution but I think we as American's deserve to know who was leading the country and how do we stop that from happening again. The mainstream media is finally acknowledging what happened and they are using Tapper's book (Original Sin), a recent summary - "The inescapable conclusion is that party leaders were well aware of Biden's diminished capacity and were more than willing to mislead the voters."
  6. Anyone know what we do during that ~1 month period between our RNLTD and IPT class start?
  7. Ouch. Bummer. I had heard of some ANG ASOSs shutting down/changing mission, but didn’t realize it was that heavy.
  8. https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2023/04/14/air-force-looks-to-cut-nearly-50-of-tactical-air-control-party-jobs/ Was proposed several years ago. Sounds like Lawman is seeing it actually happen
  9. Part of the restructure to the Division model and the cutting of what has been explained as extraneous support requirements that don’t fit in the post coin LSCO model. Brigades have basically lost their Aviation staff support and with it that commanders primary advisor on how to use air. What is at the division is extremely limited (both in size and in the case of my division intelligence). We will not have forward placed air control parties outside of only certain Special warfare communities. What we’ve gotten to keep is essentially a deep targeting coordination capability not close air support in the traditional sense. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  20. Can you imagine if this bitter old @unt had been elected. Now she thinks only a DNC female can be POTUS.
  21. Not fired because now retired, but still in a world of self-induced sh1t: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/retired-four-star-us-admiral-convicted-on-corruption-charges/ar-AA1F53M2?ocid=msedgntp&pc=HCTS&cvid=16dacbfb21d24cd397e8bb219d52d4e7&ei=14

  24. This might be racist?
  25. There is a massive gulf of use between being naked on the ground and where you are considering strike capable ISR. The ground commander owns his/her scheme of protection, and we are increasingly empowering them for a host of reasons to be capable of that on their own. 1. Your service is taking JTACs away, so that’s helpful. 2. The democratization of effective weapons to provide that overhead search and strike particularly while mobile is increasing every day. 3. Sometimes I want protection and recon security to do just that and not get sucked into strike. That was one of the primary reasons we didn’t arm group 3 ISR when the question was there. It’s why Apache is a terrible recon platform. It’s also why there is an argument to maintain the 19 series because Infantry sees every thing as a nail when we have them the recon security tasks and drones to perform them. What you should have said is any time we have troops on the ground there should be an effective fires/strike capacity to achieve immediate overmatch with the expected threats. Same reason we make those guys truck a Javelin and mortars around when we know we can probably get air if we scream loud enough on the net. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  26. Some of you guys have never been around Rangers and it shows… It wasn’t a gunnery until Dave chased you around the sleep area doing the “would you ____ me” tuck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  27. We were doing an iron swap and happen to be going to the same place that a "team" (6? dudes) needed to get to, so we loaded up their ISU90 with "you don't want to know what's in there" and headed to the ME. Load announces on initial climb out, "Yo, you ain't gonna believe this, dudes are stripped down to speedos and are playing some form of tag, oh wait, shit dog, there's a swinging dick. Dudes are nuts, I now I can't unsee nuts. I guess its some form of strip tag?" The play by play had us rolling to tears. LM had a calling in standup.
