  1. Past hour
  2. I mean, it is CA after all. To them, it’s a feature, not a big.
  3. Today
  4. Hey man, sorry for the late reply. A buddy of mine that applied to the 112th FS board told me that interview invites have already been sent out, so if you haven't heard anything yet it's probably no dice this time around. Keep your head up and keep applying! I'm 15 months and 18 applications deep into this process and have only recently started getting traction with squadrons. DM me if you ever wanna talk about anything and good luck!
  5. In applying for my FAA medical certification I found out that the TBI accident I had as an 8 year old would come back to haunt me (shocking, I know). I had internal bleeding from falling off my bike, and 1 seizure on the way to the hospital, but the bleeding stopped within 24 hrs and I made a full recover within a few weeks. No meds, no PT, no surgeries, nothing. Now, I got a letter from the FAA asking for an EEG, MRI, neuropsych eval, etc. - the whole nine yards - and after an initial neurology visit the neurologist believes there aren't any left over effects and that this should just be about crossing I's and dotting T's. On the military side, I've completed MEPS en route to enlist and had my TBI waiver approved, but that alone bars be from any maintainer positions which I was bummed about. Given this, do you think the accident could bar me from flying as a fighter pilot in the future? If I did ever get to the FC1, I could provide them with all the same material that the FAA is asking for, and I understand they're completely different animals, but was wondering if this is something I could realistically get past
  6. Yep, saw that one which made me realize it hadn't gone to CA Supreme Court, just the appellate. Again, I goofed. As did this CA court.
  7. Definitely agree it comes down to framing and how the board perceives the info. I made a lot of mistakes on my first application when it came to LOR and what I thought the board cared about. Glad I was able to get feedback for this go around. Thanks! It was definitely the focus for me after they gave very pointed feedback. Made writing the personal letter a ton easier, just reflecting on taking feedback/coming back stronger and more determined. There's almost always something you can say could be better, but as long as you're happy with how you presented yourself in your application, that's all that really matters!
  8. That's a good attitude to have! Hard to not get in the head, but lord knows I'm stoked for some College Gameday!
  9. Yeah constantly looking at your package is going to drive you crazy. I recommend just downloading the countdown app and setting it for like November 14th. That’s my estimation when results will be released and having that be a date to look forward to and then just focusing on continuing to grow where you are now. Football is about to start, then we have thanksgiving. Join a fantasy league and have fun with that. Just do something else except open your package. What’s there is there and you can’t change it. The board is 4 weeks away. Can you find something cool to do for 4 weeks lol. I’m taking my multi engine check ride this week. I take the family to Hawaii in a week and a half, then October will be here before you know it. Then it’s at least 45 days until we all know once October hits. What is submitted is submitted. I got confirmation that my package is board ready and will meet the board in September. Other than that, there’s nothing else I can do.
  10. TDS truly is a mental illness
  11. If you're still in the 6s...no huge rate drops yet but slightly moving down. Every loan is a little different (credit score, property location, loan amount, VA disability or not and what the market is doing), but I'm knocking out no cost streamline refi's for people as the numbers support it. Here is a one pager and example of one closing this week for anyone interested. So everyone understand it we pay for all the third party costs so for them it was $4,717 so it's completely free of a breakeven. That is the total of section B+C+E on page 2. They were only responsible for prepaid interest for the amount of days in left in the month from when they close because they skip their 1 Sept payment which still nets them ahead. You can see their new loan amount is basically identical to the payoff of their old loan (page 1 loan amount vs page 3 payoff). All they did was finance in the prepaid interest but they could have paid that in cash if they’d prefer. They waived having an escrow account (not required with us) but one can be created if they had wanted one. If so then the current escrow balance gets refunded in cash if they have one too. No tricks or scams. We're in the business of originating as many loans as we can especially for prior clients because relationships matter as a word of mouth business and we build a lot of goodwill doing these. I can then rinse and repeat this for them as rates go down more in the future. If you'd prefer not to restart at 30yrs (most people do) I can keep the same payment but shorten then loan duration down (prob shave 3-4yrs off or so). Hit me up if you're interested or want to get on my radar for future market dips. Jon 850-377-1114 https://tridenthomeloans.com/irrrl/ No Cost IRRRL.pdf No cost IRRRL Example.pdf
  12. Ugh, never mind. Mis-read your title as "California Supreme Court" telling SCOTUS to pound sand. Totally stupid on my part. However, reading the legal synopsis at my link was interesting. Source, please? Only thing I could find is a California Appeals Court, dated July 29, 2025, saying "yeah, but..." to the 2024 SCOTUS decision. Moving from appellate to state supreme court in less than a month is pretty high-speed. 13. Isn't that insurrection?
  14. If crapping in the streets of San Francisco, rampant crime and extreme taxes were not enough to show you what a mess California is...look at Sheetz v. County of El Dorado. In short - a gentleman purchased a piece of land and wanted to build an 1800' home. The City of El Dorado approved the build but dropped a $23,000 "Traffic" impact fee on him. He fought it all the way to the Supreme Court which rules unanimously in his favor. The California Appeals Court has decided the Supreme Court does not apply to them and reaffirmed their original ruling.
  15. "Decoy hats!" I had a Wing Commander teach me that one as a lieutenant! 🫡🫡 An extra set of keys helped with the deception!!
  16. In non AFSOC helos, nobody was safe from a solid Hog. Not even O-6s. Those nasty habits from Pave Low gunners spread to other helos like herpes. Edit: Coincidentally, in AFGSC there's a helicopter ops group alson known as the HOG.
  17. You have a pretty good chance I would say! Your scores are great and looks like you did improve on leadership growth which sounds like what the board wants to see. The waiting is the worst.. I’ve been trying to stay focused on work and other things but I catch myself over analysing my entire package sometimes, wondering if there was something I could’ve done better.
  18. Back in the day drawing dicks in a 4 star’s hat and throwing it in the freezer was good to go - probably get you castrated on AD nowadays.
  19. Same in the MAF. The most apt description of some particular artwork I may, or may not, have been a part of was "veiny triumphant bastard" inside our WO's hat.
  20. But....Trump is bad!
  21. "Hogging" the inside of a unattended hat was a big practical joke in AFSOC...same in the CAF?
  22. I was technically a Lt when I applied so I didn't have a lot of first hand leadership (RPA). I will say I had a lot of "first" in my package explaining how I was the first to do something. So it could be in how you frame your experiences as well.
  23. Best way to do it in my opinion. Waiting sucks but not thinking about it makes it go by quicker.
  24. Not really. I have a rule to submit and forget. That’s what I did when applying to OTS. Now do I think about it? Yes and wish November was here already. But I can’t speed up time. So I’m focusing on still kicking ass at work and football!!! And my family lol.
  25. The waiting is the worst part!! I’m trying to just keep myself busy so I think about it less and maybe the time will pass quicker. For IPT locations, if you go to ETCA and search “IPT” under the AETC courses, you can find the reporting instructions for a bunch of locations. I can’t remember all of them off the top of my head, and they may add more with Vance bringing IPT up too, but that will at least give you a few of the options. Wishing you the best of luck this time around!
  26. Is the waiting driving anyone else crazy? This is my second time applying (got CSO in FY23 board) so all or nothing this go around. Have 200+ hours w/PPL, 92 PCSM and 96 Pilot. Was a young LT last time and got feedback from the board to focus on leadership positions/growth. Got a masters, Flt/CC time and now an Ops O position within my unit with all the typical awards this go around. The leadership metric always drove me crazy because we have zero clue how much things are weighted within that 40% (OPBs, Strats, Letter of Rec, 215 statements etc). I’m sure there’s some delineation for how they weigh each item but who knows. Random thought but does anyone know where IPT locations will be? I’ve heard they’re literally all over the US. Anyways best of luck to everyone this go around. November can’t get here soon enough!
