WTF? (**NSFW**)
Absolutely agreed on the timeline. The appeals process taking years or decades is a total foul. But high profile mass shooters/terrorists know they’re gonna get caught and ultimately executed. They’re looking for infamy which is exactly what this gives them. This is exactly the reason a number of news outlets I respect have stopped naming shooters. The coverage is exactly what drives motivation for more of this stuff. A big publicity stunt execution and political food fight about it only elevates the profile of a dude that should be completely forgotten.

I think executions should be public, and a lot more of them as well. Both of those things would convey a stronger message of ultimate accountability for crimes. More people would think twice about murder when they see a bunch of people getting hanged or shot in public (and within a couple months of conviction, not this couple decades bullshit). Our justice system is a complete joke - these fundamental changes would start reversing that well deserved moniker.

Think this goes here: https://www.reuters.com/world/us-livestream-army-execution-fort-hood-shooter-pentagon-official-says-2026-10-08/ In a sane world this would be done quietly so we remember the victims and never speak this dudes name again. Instead we get the quintessential Trump/Hegseth routine where we turn it into a gross PR media circus and give this guy 10,000x the publicity he deserves. Idk or maybe not wanting to watch a live-streamed execution is just my low-T talking

ACE 2.0
Further musing on an ACE 2.0 model The main and best argument against it is the cost of multiple/many ACE platform bases across the Air Force so why not a hub and spoke model using 2 platforms maybe 1. Concentrate the logistics and program infrastructure in a few bases, operate them on trips out of those bases, 4 to 5 day trips, based near major domiciles, drawing on ARC members there to man the IP cadre and flying crew chiefs. Fly the ACE jets as a package to Base X, recurrence and proficiency rides, pilots fly their own sorties/local exercises/demos/etc, aircraft rotate back to base, cycle repeats. If the AF wanted to build out this idea, a commuter class jet or turboprop could be used for support (ferrying pilots, parts) to where flying opportunities are if jets aren’t at a base at the time pilots are available. Reliability would be key as jets would be on the road most of the time with support but likely a light compliment of mx, kinda leads back to the L-39 for its simplicity and mx concept. AMC ACE jet could be a PC-24 (cargo door) or Do 328eco (new builds) that also have a cargo and inflight door options.

Robins AFB info
Anyone in the know about Robins crash pads? I'll be there for 179. UTFSF, google/internet and asking sqdn folks hasn't borne much fruit. Single FGO, no pets, generally like in-town living but something close to golf, pickleball, a running trail, and/or a couple good bars can work fine. Thanks! Splash

Fly Dubai Hijacking?
A while back when I was teaching UPT studs I told them about the C130 dancers and tried to find the videos on YouTube, but they were no longer there?

"Well Mr. Senator, that would be a clear and intentional violation of federal law, except our computers don't actually work correctly...so, we think it's fine!"- RAF Fairford alleged terror attack averted
I mean, if there was a specific, credible threat, it probably would not be broadcast over unclass networks.- Boeing Wins Next Gen Navy F/A-XX contract
You know.. you're not wrong I need a longer memory. Although I'd argue it's not worked more times than it has. Also our acquisitions process is exponentially more f*ed today than it was at the time they were building F-4s, but that's more of an indictment of all programs not just joint ones- ACE 2.0
Makes way too much sense. Keep using strategic assets to bang out touch & goes and training sorties. My favorite thing about being a Tanker pilot is wondering if "today's the day" my T-6-only trained copilot gave me a pod scrape.- ACE 2.0
ACC gets L-39NGs; AMC, AFGSC gets CJ-3s, C-12s; AFSOC gets PC-12s; AETC gets Gamebird GB1s. ACC program is red air, target simulation and large formations and some air demonstration work. Stick & rudder in an analog controls jet, reps and tactical air work experience building. AMC & AFGSC is proficiency building via light utility / liaison missions. Experience building learning a new type, seeing the commonalities among all technologically advanced, automated transport and commuter types and general operational experience. Jets and turboprops split, mix and match if appropriate with Wings based on iron they fly. AFSOC is reps and sets in a light advanced, turboprop. NVG, short field, exercise and team support. Airdrop utility door, EO/IR sensor, all options Pilatus offers on PC-12s now. AETC program is an IP enrichment assignment/duty and run by AETC for other commands, rated staff in non-flying billets and training activity for Nav, EWO, WSO, CSO, ABM, etc community. If capacity allows, fly Airmen of the moment, stand outs, etc as an incentive program. Tailwheel instruction is part of the plan and with the low footprint of this airplane, could be done as a traveling program. This sounds expensive but in reality it’s budget dust and saves money, wear and tear on the Crown Jewels, builds a better rated force and grows esprit de corps because pilots want to fly. - AF Light Air Support Aircraft
