  1. Term limits. Get rid of every DC swamp creature (D’s & R’s) who’s been there for 20+ years [emoji106]

  2. There are valid statements above from both sides, but here’s what really matters in my opinion: total fabrication or not, shady or not, the media has no problem plastering shit on trump/other GOP all over the place, but when the same level of shady shit is available on hunter/other Dems, it’s shut down by chairman mao. Regardless of the authenticity/accuracy of smear information, either allow it all (and let the consumer form their opinion), or take your “moral stand” and suppress it; your call media. But when they do one for the Dems and the other for the GOP, it’s very disturbing and frankly everybody, regardless of party affiliation, should acknowledge this bullshit. It’s still suppressing free speech even if you disagree with the content/statements, and that’s wrong.

  6. Come on man...stop quibbling about this shit. He is simply dishonest, says what he thinks will work in the moment or not and goes back on his word. Both politically and in business. Because one is in the "free market/private industry" doesn't make it better or worse than someone who's been in "public service" their whole life. So, I know for one thing when I had to deal with Boxer AND Feinstein as my Senators digging into how they got so rich (and their families...Mr. Boxer in particular) was there's no insider trading for them. So they can hear about a deal, or know how legislation is going to go. I think this has since been changed because of those shit-ass republicans who took the classified briefs and started selling stock before the public getting in trouble. This COULD explain it, but there's obviously more nefarious ways "Uncle Joe" coulda made his money. But lets not act like Trump hasn't done the exact same thing for his family, example #1 - The Trump Foundation. Also, personal opinion only, but to think that there's more leverage on Joe than there is on Donny...I'm hard pressed to believe that. So...no, you can't. This isn't fucking Twitter, stop being a shit-post crusader, lol.

  7. Who independently verified it? I can't find anything online about verification, only the opposite that no one can verify. Are you saying that if I claimed to have a laptop of yours, and I started posting private pics of you and videos of you smoking crack you wouldn't have your lawyer give me a call? What kind of world do we live in where a large law enforcement agency comprised of cops and headed by a trump-appointee is left leaning? Do you even listen to yourself? My bad, he relinquished control but didn't divest, and still funnels millions of taxpayer dollars back into his own pocket by taking everyone to his resorts and enriching himself. Just like the founding fathers wanted. Also you dodged that you can quite literally pay to have access to Trump through Mar A Lago. Who should I trust? A millionaire who lies repeatedly when it's convenient to him and repeatedly disrespects the office of the presidency, or a lifelong public servant who has been under public scrutiny for 40+ years and the worst you can dig up on him is dirt about his son...

  8. I seriously don’t understand how the media is not coving it or keeping it under wraps that Biden is directly connected to pay for play scheme with two enemy foreign super powers. And it’s been going on for a long time. At the very least massive fraud sending his son in Air Force 2 to go make some dolla bills. Doesn’t seem like liberals and Democrats really care about morals and laws. Just....”orange man bad!” It doesn’t seem to matter all of the good things a president has done, if he doesn’t talk in the manner you think he should, then he’s bad. Get him out.

  9. There have been a lot of good responses in this thread, and I think they're all valid. I'll share one very useful piece of advice a friend of mine who is now at UPT for heavies gave me, and it proved useful for me in recently getting picked up for a fighter unit as well. "in the Guard they're trying to make a decision of 'This guy isn't even military yet, let along a military pilot, and I'm going to select him to be my wingman and trust him with my life for the 10 years based solely on his past achievements and his demeanor'" @Cherokeeflyer is spot on in emphasizing a focus on how you have overcome adversity and learned from mistakes. Everyone will be tested at some point in training, so if you show up talking about how great you are and how you'll sail through UPT, it doesn't make a good impression. If you can tell a compelling story about a time you failed or screwed up bad but rose to the occasion and bounced back, that'll help you stand out. You want them to see that you're humble, will be a good teammate, and won't quit when the going gets rough. @hockeydork hit the nail on the head when he said anyone who's made it as far as the interview has already been considered capable. If you've made it to the 10 or so finalists out of 100-200, they likely already expect you have the skills to make it through UPT. What they're looking for is to see how well you'll fit with the team, that you're excited to be there but not a fanboy, and that you're going to work your ass off to be the best teammate you can be. I am an engineer with scores in the 90s across the board. Can confirm from experience that they did not care about said scores, and were far more interested in the teamwork side of my professional career than the technical. A couple things I did for interview prep that were helpful: Don't let your answers come off as overly rehearsed. They don't want you to recite a canned response. Take a moment to think about the question you've been asked before you speak. Take the time to prepare so you know what to expect, but don't be a robot when you answer. Bring a team-first attitude. Once you're in the interview your academics and test scores aren't as relevant. Focus on sharing life experiences that were valuable and taught you important lessons Do your homework. Learn about the unit, the airframe, and be able to tell them why you want to be there more than anyone else. Be authentic. It's easy to tell the people who are trying too hard from the people who are relaxed and confident. I've seen a number of interview candidates try to talk like they're already military pilots, and it was obviously off-putting to everyone in the room. I can't speak to the Bogidope prep since I did not make use of it. I found the standard interview questions thread in this forum to be quite helpful. Best of luck to you.

  12. I don’t think you’ve read anything about what is on the emails. They tie his dad directly to the money. And the emails have been verified by people who were on them. Might want to go read about them and then second guess your non fact based trolling. When you get called out you pivot to something else. Address what’s in front of you. Then we can talk about people paying to stay at a resort.

  13. The Hunter Biden narrative isn’t going to move the needle, unless you can show that VP Biden actually did something illegal. Here’s the deal, there are hundreds of thousands of parents who have to deal with their children’s addictions, yes even grown children. You don’t stop trying to help your kid just because he’s an adult. It’s what you do, because you watch them grow from an infant, and try to help them ever step of the way. I don’t care if HB was a coke head, that’s his cross to bear. He’s not running for President.

  14. Unfortunately I was blindly listening to an individual who got “Chiefed” at a retirement ceremony about the brown boots and Flight suit. The reg says mandatory wear on 01 Apr 2021...good thing I bought them last week. However, the coyote brown (tan 499) shirts are required. When you work on staff, you’ve got lots of time to worry about the important stuff....

  18. Unpopular opinion...but the black boots sucked, and I'll keep saying that until the day I die. They made a mess on your clothes when you packed them in your bag or rubbed them on anything not black, they were fucking hot and didn't breathe at all, and not all of us are the internet badass most of you are who claimed to strut around in scuffed up boots and tell every chief and FGO to fuck off when you get gigged on your boots. I like no maintenance clothing I never have to think about...and the black boots were far from that. Now if you want a black pair of Lowas or Salomons then I'm listening.

  19. I've been reading a lot on the science behind political blame following crises lately and found this nugget that I thought was interesting. In reviewing his whole article it is clear to me where Trump is on the pandemic now. He is either lucky, or is actually listening to some very astute political advisors. Jones had some great context in the rest of the article if you check it out. But basically, downplaying the virus was about the smartest thing Trump could do. Another good one Kirlin "COVID-19 Upends Pandemic Plan" which as a military planner is fascinating. In short, Kirlin looked at the CDC pandemic plan and recognized there were no decision points in it. Basically, the CDC wrote the plan in 2009 under direction of Obama following the H1N1 scare. The problem was, the CDC at this point in time, felt their roll in a pandemic was limited to providing protective guidance to communities and hospitals on how to prevent infection spread (like hospital procedures and handwashing techniques). They had no idea that the most important means of social protection (enforced social distancing, quarantine, closing businesses) would require the executive authority of elected political leaders (mayors, governors, POTUS) to make decisions. So there was no pre-identified COAs, decision points, or information requirements to make those decisions which led to a massive analysis-paralysis at the onset of the pandemic while government lawyers spun their wheels trying to figure out what orders they could legally give. (Something that should have been figured out in the plan already). I write all of that because its becoming clear to me the phenomenon of political blame is more nuanced than we often understand and as government employees we should recognize more than most that many of the big muscle movements big government makes are influenced and motivated by career employees who have been with the government for years. POTUS often puts their own flavor on things but the truth is events would probably play out very similarly in many ways if Hillary was in office now as well. Just interesting food for thought.

  22. Republicans before October 2020: OMG the media is all lies, and we can't trust unnamed sources! Republicans in October 2020: We should trust the media that was shadily given this mysterious hard drive and won't produce actual copies with metadata My favorite part of GRU-toberfest 2020 is how we pretend Republicans suddenly care about pay to play schemes. No tears were shed over the past 4 years as foreigners quite literally pay for access to Trump via Mar a Lago and other businesses that he maintains control over in direct violation of the emoluments clause of that precious document you swore to uphold and defend. Kushner and company are selling visas to chinese investors and soliciting investors on the taxpayers dime for his 666 5th avenue property. You guys are a hoot.
