April 30, 201510 yr CBM 15-02 AT-38 (Reserve, a Lt Col!) Was the Lt Col a former pilot who got to switch tracks? Can't possibly have come from UPT right?
April 30, 201510 yr "The Air Force is changing the current process for obtaining waivers from specific height requirements for pilots, a move that James said would give 900 more women the opportunity to compete for those coveted spots over the next five years." Cockpit designers are sexist!
May 1, 201510 yr Was the Lt Col a former pilot who got to switch tracks? Can't possibly have come from UPT right? He was a patch wearing F-15E WSO. Started UPT as a major.

May 2, 201510 yr As a current UPT T-38 Flt/CC, it's all about what "the man" gives us in our excel sheet. Awesome classes get shitty drops, shitty classes get awesome drops. Needs of the Air Force, simple as that. Don't overthink it.

May 10, 201510 yr Why are ANG MAF units sending folks through T-38's? From what I've been told...The Guard Bureau gets X number of T-1 spots and Y Nunber of T-38 spots a year. Sometimes they run out of T-1 spots, and have T-38 slots left, so they just drop them into a T-38 spots. It keeps from clogging on the training pipeline and having guys sitting around forever waiting to start.
May 10, 201510 yr Why are ANG MAF units sending folks through T-38's? I've seen guard heavy guys get a -38 vs T-1 with a handle of Jack from the unit cc. Sometimes if there is space, it benefits all involved, especially the student, who becomes universally assignable if his unit shuts down and he goes looking for a new job. I saw one Kc-135 bound guy go thru -38s and do so well they helped him switch to a fighter unit, with the approval of his -135 ANG boss who was a former fighter guy with connections. Weird things can happen.
May 10, 201510 yr Columbus is offering it them, not their unit. (In this case) god god who would ever turn that down
May 10, 201510 yr god god who would ever turn that down Someone with a brain? Although T-38s are considered the easier program these days, or at least have a lower hook and washout rate.
May 10, 201510 yr Someone with a brain? Although T-38s are considered the easier program these days, or at least have a lower hook and washout rate. Seriously bro you'd turn down an opportunity to fly the white jets and then have universal appeal should shit go down at your unit ?
May 10, 201510 yr Someone with a brain? Although T-38s are considered the easier program these days, or at least have a lower hook and washout rate. I'm sure the only possible explanation for a lower hook and washout rate in the T-38 is an easier program. It couldn't be that poor performers in the T-6 are usually sent to the T-1. May 11, 201510 yr Seriously bro you'd turn down an opportunity to fly the white jets and then have universal appeal should shit go down at your unit ? This would be the only reason that the -38 makes any sense. I'm sure the only possible explanation for a lower hook and washout rate in the T-38 is an easier program. May 11, 201510 yr Invalid at release. The only thing any guard or reserve unit is getting converted to these days is MQ-9s.
