Ted Cruz as Supreme Court justice when Judge Alito or Judge Thomas decides to retire. Both of them are mid 70's. And, Sonia S. is having health issues, so he might end up making 3 more appointments this term.

I know Nikki is a bit of a neocon but as ClearedHot said she's stable and level headed. I could see her doing well as Sec of State (she showed her backbone and commitment to the US while serving as UN ambassador).

  • Pete Hegseth named to be SECDEF....WOW! He was labeled a threat/extremist by his Guard unit for vigorously supporting Trump.  I hope he turns the building upside down!

I can see types like Nikki, aka, not pure Trump loyalists, passing on a job because of Trump's propensity of firing people.  And we miss out on some good people for a job.

Now I know you're delusional. These people don't pass on cabinet jobs. They didn't spend their whole lives rolling around in the mud to suddenly become principled now. Doesn't matter which party they're in.

We usually never know if someone says no thanks.

Mattis resigned and chose not to continue.  While it's not the same, it does show that some people won't want to work in a Trump administration under the threat of getting fired, which pretty much ends their political life.

Can’t get rid of affirmative action Loyd Austin soon enough. Both OSD and JCS could be slashed in half. Actually let CCDRs do their job.

Mattis is a different animal, he actually has ethics.

The DOD could use a 10% budget cut across the board. Generals included.

As long as they don’t offload those budget cuts on flying hours like in 2013, or pay cuts…otherwise I’m good with that.

Just saw this lil item in the news in a local rag.

"Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) has told President-elect Trump’s team he will not be accepting administration roles, despite being a top contender for positions including CIA director and Secretary of Defense, two sources familiar tell Axios."

I would love to see Tulsi as the head of homeland security so she can ask who put her and her husband on the terrorist watch list.

at least 25% to make even a tiny dent. I'd shoot for 50%. So much dead weight hanging around this place. And wasted money.

I'd nominate @Biff_T for SecDef. Not some indoctrinated general who has played the game for 30 years. Someone who gives a shit about killing bad dudes efficiently and genuinely cares about the people that are tasked with that objective. And somehow I think dirndls would make it into an official uniform.

He's a senator, dude. Already has power.

Big difference. Only big one I can think of that refused power repeatedly was Condoleza Rice after her time in the Bush administration.

Required uniforms for SARMs under 25…though there will be requirements, waiverable only by a 69% yes vote from the bros.
