  1. Impressive. I'm certainly not a professional, but why did the firefighter attempt to cross in front of the danger zone (4:50) and nearly turned a controlled event into an injury? The camera guys are literally talking about how dangerous that would be seconds before.
  2. That was hard to listen to...wtf.
  3. 1. It looks like the whole crew sticking together. 2. Keep it professional, don't bang each other, or abuse power. 3. Hitting the bars every day with the crew when TDY is the standard.
  4. Potentially not a factor, but warranty, service, and repair is an additional consideration. Also worth running it by the company issuing insurance.

Submitted an in query to rentahitman.com Call sign Reaper "Put me in coach!" ...this could have passed for the Duffle Blog.
  6. We can't even accurately predict the weather.
  7. Almost there, but how are you going to manage the battlespace without the radardome?

Acknowledged, but its step in the direction. Autonomous drogue AAR is simpler than Boom. Curious to see what NGAD prefers.

    It already is, MQ-25.

Human factors engineering plays into this as well. The 767/787 cockpit was designed with two pilots in mind. Can we achieve routine single pilot, or unmanned tankers? Absolutely, but not with our current manned iron.

How many times "what if (rules)" come up in a hypothetical contingency scenario. If its actual contingency, you make it happen. Who is the waiver authority to saving life, T-3?.../s Who is my T-3 CC because we've corrupted basic chain-of-command with endless COMREL food fights? Hey boss, looks like we are about to get cooked. Damn, if only we had crew rest to flush the base. Hey, why is your vRED overdue!

They paid for the software, they failed to properly articulate the requirement, and/or perform quality control on the product delivered. #operatorsinacquisition

Partner Nations (PN) operating the -767 don't have extensive inventory of attack, strategic, and tactical assets the U.S. operates. PNs make due with what they have, meanwhile the USAF via bureaucracy, ensures their tankers are fully interoperable with the entire DoD fleet before praising their new tanker. Its the tradeoff of efficiency vs. resiliency. Or, it is classic government logic, let's not declare our new tanker asset IOC until it is technically compatible with the asset we want to retire (i.e. A-10).
  14. Speculation at this point, but yes, many believe VBIED. Either way, clandestine.
  15. Kerch bridge is a big deal. This is a massive morale boost to a force already brimming with morale. "...professionals study logistics."
  16. Careful now, Boeing did that and we found the wrappers in the aircraft 🙂
  17. See that's the thing, leadership track and stop, are mutually exclusive.
  18. Not a spear at the KC-390, but it does not appear to be designed as a boom tanker from day one. What happens to the cargo door if you fit a boom to this aircraft? Takeoff weights on an unimproved runway surface would severely, if not completely make it ineffective as a tanker. Not an aero engineer, but I'm curious if the t-tail and high wings have any effect on the AAR boom envelope.
  19. Two of the acquired jets were involved in the Iraq nuclear raid. Those are legendary. Raid on the Sun, title of a good book about the mission.
  20. I have VGT, VUG, and VWUSX. I had VAW, VBR, VIG, VIS, VTI, VXF, but I sold those to buy VWUSX. Also, I'm no financial wizard and probably couldn't articulate sound advice if I even knew what sound advice was.

When I read that I thought they were doing an open ranks inspection as a capstone to an ORI...then thinking WTF, who dose an open ranks inspection to finish an ORI!?
  24. Climate is not my area of expertise, but someone I trust puts a lot of effort towards climate study. This sums up some solid baseline assumptions.
