C-130H Total Force Integration
GTF also needs to build the hangar space for the Herks as well. They could always come to Malmstrom and reopen the runway.....At least then we wouldn't need WG/CC coord for a transient aircraft to get a PPR.

Common Vertical Lift Support Platform 15 yrs late
Just get the Wulfsburg that is on the TH-1s, the RQF, and Eglins birds. Select any freq with one radio. Would help tremendously on SARs or coordinating with other agencies that don't use the standard four freqs.

Common Vertical Lift Support Platform 15 yrs late
The HTAWS/TCAS modification "if" it goes as planned will be a great add-on. However they will most likely not integrate it with our FLIR so Geo-Pointing or a HDD capability will be lost. All we'll get is a better GPS and an HSI. I will say that I'm looking forward to doing away with the mini-chems and duct tape

WTF? (**NSFW**)
The Russians don't use explosives in their flight termination software. Instead the engines are shut down and the rocket does its thing. On the Proton the software is inhibited during the first 45 seconds of flight to prevent the rocket from potentially falling back on the pad and severely damaging it.

CSAR-X
As the AF crimes article said, it is a move to try and get AFSOC more CV-22s and MC-130Js.

CSAR-X
Just go old school and put them under AMC.

CSAR-X
The army wanted them out of the rotary world.

CSAR-X
That's what I heard from a buddy who's in the HC-J. ACC is getting the Kings faster than AFSOC is getting the Commandos and they want them. Hell it was AFSOC with their KPP change in CSAR-X that doomed (IMHO) the entire program.

Military, Aviation, Spacecraft Technology that won't necessarily replace us
Don't you insult her like that! Read an interesting article in Rotor & Wing comparing this to the Sikorski X2. They mentioned that the X3 may not be able to handle crosswinds as well as a "traditional" compound helo design due to the fuselage blanking out one of the nacelles. Since the props provide the anti-torque in a hover, any null areas caused would significantly reduce performance. I have no idea if it is true or how the X3 performs with a crosswind, I just thought it was interesting.

The Foglesong Thread
What are the chances he starts to call in noise complaints for the T-6's on the buzzsaw departure?

TCAS
I think the other issue is one of what was considered safe separation. If i see an aspect change on the aircraft and i will pass behind/below him, <1k ft is plenty of room especially if he is on final approach/not very maneuverable. To an RJ it might be a little close.
