I'm not an expert here, but would carb heat have helped in this situation? Glad to hear the crew got out OK. "Something to get it to come back because it was weird to watch it turn all the way around and come back, but if it does, it's a good thing because it was headed for residential neighborhoods," added Hall. If this jet had landed anywhere else, "pilot error" would've been all over the place. Now there's some sort of "safety device" that made sure it cratered into an open field.
