  1. All that to add, I am all for the bonus being 100k a year for those that stay in. You guys seriously deserve it with all the Air Force puts you through.
  2. Completely agree with you. Just like in business, it is cheaper to take care of your people all along the way than trying to bribe people to stay with you after the damage has been done. All I am saying is it would be much cheaper in the long run for the Air Force to work on retaining people (I.e. Fixing the problems) when they are at the five year point of your career than putting all its cards into the bonus being the deciding factor. It's like a long term girlfriend who has cheated and lied again and again saying I've changed take me back when you go to break up with her. I mean yeah the sex is sometimes pretty good but you can definitely get it other places without the drama. Boom drop the mic...
  3. I'm thinking he means OM to which they do come into play.
  4. Hmm. I literally thought the Air Force was sending Michael Vick.
  5. Bottom line, pay is nice but not a single one of you joined the military for the pay. For most, pay will not be the reason people leave. I truly believe we have the best job in the world and being a glorified aerial bus driver shouldn't be able to compete. However with the toxic leadership, the piss poor people management, deployed empire building to prop up the next generation of "combat" generals, and the general apathy from the Air Force makes this decision easy for most. Throwing money at the problem is not going to buy loyalty, but merely keep some fence sitters in for a little while longer. Just my $.02.

    Latest Movies

    Nick Cage and Keanu Reeves.
  7. If I remember correctly, I vaguely remember having to track down my dual-enrollment grades for my pilot board in ROTC. Granted this was a very long time ago so maybe someone else can get you more recent Intel, but I would definitely try to get started on the right foot... And join the guard.
  8. Tell him to run while he still has a chance...
  9. At HPA right now. I can say it's a good program so far. Run by almost all Retired SWA Pilots/former military. Did you have any issues with the T-6s operating out of KDUC?
  10. Yeah the last VSP hit them hard with all the mandatory retirements for concert orchestras going in effect. Thank God the Air Force is lead turning this one.
  11. Noooooo. Really? The guy turned out to be a predator???
  12. True story. The best airline today may furlough you tomorrow and you may be crawling to a buddy to help get a job at airline x.
  13. So probably December is what we are looking at?
  14. Unfortunately, I think toxic leadership is seeping in everywhere because our higher leadership will only do something about it if they are forced to. See Rhatigan and JQP.

    Epi-pen

Thanks man. Went to the flight doc with deaddebates info. No word on what's gonna happen with the deployment and he didn't ground me... I didn't argue either way...

    Epi-pen

Yikes. I am like 100 days away from deploying. Better get on it. Thanks for the info!!!

    Epi-pen

ALC? No I sure don't. Spent last 4 years hanging out with the guard so was on Tricare Prime Remote. Got allergy tested and found out I have severe (anaphylactic shock) allergies to shellfish. Went to Flt Doc today and was given a refill of Epi-pens (6) no questions asked. I am scheduled to deploy next year, any advice on what to do? It's amazing the solid info I get from this site. Can't imagine going through my AF career without it.

    Epi-pen

Anyone have any experience with deploying with an epi-pen due to severe allergies?
  19. Come on back. AETC needs more deployment fodder. But seriously I have no idea why anyone would want to return to Active Duty but if you want to I truly hope it works out for you. I would call the AFPC service desk or whatever they are calling it today. If you call multiple times you will get multiple answers too which is neat.
  20. Yeah, we have an old B-2 dude in the squadron who says that although having the 38 as a companion is awesome, he feels even just a T-1 would be more inline with what they need. His words not mine.
  21. And sure enough those of us with young kids know everyone in a flight suit is "Daddy". God bless those families and those that paid the ultimate price.
  22. That's interesting that it goes through functional seeing as how the AFI states that AF manning or operational necessity will not be taken into consideration! Gotta love the AF. My Palace Chase was denied even though my functional stated we were 108% manned. He recommended disapproval. Hopefully this time is better. Thanks for the info Busted!
  23. Dudes, anyone have any experience or advice on applying for hardship separation? I know it starts in vMPF just like any other separation app, but outside of that the afi doesn't really give info on who it gets routed to after your Wg/CC, approval time, who you need to payoff etc... Any insight or advice would be appreciated. I can provide more info on my specific situation if required. Thanks in advance. Duck
  24. Huggy it's Afghanistanimation! And the monkey has a butler.
