It has less to do with being too old and has more to do with the Air Force knowing that if you take a mid-level Capt who has a couple thousand hours in another aircraft and train him in a fighter you will probably only get three years out of him before he punches for greener pastures. I know several guys who did the heavy thing in the Air Force and now are flying fighters successfully in the guard. It all depends on the person and their God given potential. A Lt is an indentured servant for 10 years... Maybe more if the Air Force gets its wish.

Yes! It is 100% possible! I haven't seen a 43rd UPT stud guy come through probably because of limited places to farm them out and a plethora of 11Fs jumping ship for ANG/Reserve! Occasionally we get a guy at UPT hired by Klamath or Tucson! The path is the std UPT, IFF, B Course, but rather than going back to your hired unit you will be farmed out to hopefully make IP at another unit! Only then would you return! However talking to a couple of my buddies, it seems like those guys rarely get back to the unit as an IP and typically find other units!!!! Edited to add more exclamation points.

As a product of the public school system of the south, I always get confused talking to financial types. Marty spent about 15 mins on the phone with me giving me some solid financial advice that even I could understand. It was very obvious he wanted what was best for me and my family. I will be doing business with them as soon as I get my pcs location nailed down.

Hey Marty, I called Around today about refinancing my VA into a 30 year conventional. With excellent credit I am getting quoted at 4.5% (no points) and about $2300 in fees. Are you in the conventional business too or just VAs? Does that sound reasonable to you?

Question for the masses. Getting ready to PCS and want to free-up my VA loan eligibility which is tied up in a house that is being rented. With appraisal I have 20%+ equity. Can I refi that VA loan into a conventional with no pmi and then use my va for another house?

Can I do the pt test as a female and then transition back after lunch?

From the guys in my class who went RPAs they told me that they were constantly bombarded by leadership to recat and told doom and gloom on how they would be so far behind they would never catch up to their peers and probably be passed over as a result. I can imagine being told that for 3 years would take its toll.

It's cyclical. We are back to 2008-2010 all over again. We are going to flood T-38s with more studs and send them to all sorts of other non-CAF assignments. The only difference I see is there will still be lots of fighters dropped. More and more casuals sitting BIT waiting for B course dates. We've been here before guys. Maybe this time they won't turn the fighter pipeline off for 3 years and then wonder where the f$ck all the 11Fs have gone. Last night I was worried they were going to non-Vol a dude into fighters at ENJJPT... It was close.

Bluedevil, can't answer the first question but I can give everyone a data point for Palace Chase. Had an 11B guy in my squadron get turned down inside of 1 year from the end of his UPT ADSC. He did not have a hire letter though.
