  1. According to DoD policy, yes. Do you guys even read the policies before you bitch about them?
  2. There was at the time. Even if it didn't kill you, CDC was recommending 10 days of isolation. Not to mention isolating close contacts for a week. Then there are the political considerations. Not the left-right politics... the politics of being able to move US military members into countries with full-on vaccine mandates for travelers. Sure, you could probably seek a waiver, but that's all time and effort you don't want to spend when you're scrambling to rapidly deploy assets across the globe. Do I think we could drop it now? Probably. Do I think people still refusing the vaccine over something petty like the wrong brand name are more likely to be troublemakers than people with actual sincere beliefs? Absolutely. Gonna be a moot point as this crop separates and/or retires. Current recruiting guidance is no vaccine, no enlistment/ commission. AFROTC won't even consider unvaccinated cadets for a commissioning slot. They can participate the first two years, then be on their way.
  3. We still have a DoD mandate. This isn't the first dumb thing, and won't be the last dumb thing, commanders are charged with getting done. The ire here is directed at the wrong people. If you really think we shouldn't have a covid vaccine mandate, direct that at your elected officials.
  4. Working out a messaging strategy to reduce vaccine hesitancy isn't breaking the law. I didn't see anything in these emails that breaks the law. I see senior leaders recognizing the cultural and legal hurdles they have to overcome and trying to find solutions. Like getting the branded vaccine so that service members can't claim its the experimental version. The vaccine has definitely fallen short of what was promised, but painting any discussion of how to move people towards taking it as "breaking the law" isn't helpful to your cause.
  5. None of those were a match militarily. It was in the diplomacy where it broke down.
  6. So we continue to study the problem. I feel like I've been hearing the "study" line for my entire career.
  7. I wonder if she thinks these immigrants should also get the $15/hr minimum wage?
  8. Didn't we get rid of questions about past marijuana use a while ago?
  9. It gets better. https://taskandpurpose.com/news/air-force-general-mike-minihan-mobility/ “Lethality matters most,” he said. “When you can kill your enemy, every part of your life is better. Your food tastes better. Your marriage is stronger,” Minihan said.
  10. If it's a scholarship program with money and/or career advancement attached... just identify as "gender fluid" and say "today I'm a man" during your meetings with the advisors.
  11. Doesn't this make the student loan forgiveness illegal? Since it was done under the cover of an "emergency order" to combat the pandemic?
  12. I wonder if they'll start securing the border when they realize how pro-life and anti-trans the Hispanic community tends to be
  13. I'm all for legal immigration. I'm not for a border so porous that everyone who wants into the US knows they should go to Mexico and cross from there.
  14. While I applaud your efforts to be debt-free and/or buy additional property...have you considered refinancing the SC place to turn the equity into cash? The rates aren't as good as they were, but the flipside is that a new home loan, paid by your renters, isn't taxable income. Rental income is.
  15. He was full of these gems as the WG/CV at Dyess. As one of my buddies used to say, "I wouldn't piss on that man if he were on fire".
  16. Can't afford all those F-35s AND the personnel budget. Guess which one brings in more money to congressional districts?
  17. Not to mention "homeless advocacy" seems to amount to "let them stay on the streets, putting them into shelters is harmful".
  18. This is another good reason not to shop at the commissary.
  19. So... why weren't we helping them prior to the invasion of Ukraine? It's just such a specious argument that this money would be spent on your number 1 issue if only it weren't diverted to something you disagree with.
  20. This should help retention during the strongest job market in decades. https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2022/09/02/airmen-brace-for-special-duty-pay-cut-in-2023/?fbclid=IwAR2wIGPCTD6WJroaKeB3bD9Cnn_4dRWBcfMXPdmUlPA3QfiHxQaJHLVqLBY
  21. So your assertion is that if we just let Russia take over their neighbors... Missouri would have water?
