Rushing to judgement goes BOTH ways. How in the world can you say @flyusaf83 is rushing to judgement without saying the Police Chief is rushing to judgement as well? I hear what you are saying and fully support the approach of due process, the problem is that in 99% of all cases of suggested police misconduct the first reaction of leadership is to defend the officer's actions and that is just as bad. The Police Chief should not succumb to an admission of guilt NOR should he auto-default to justifying the officers actions. Sadly, police departments make this process PAINFUL. They always investigate themselves then the public has to draw out the truth/facts via FOIA and litigation. Luckily FDLE has the hammer on this one.

Further proof that absolute age is not the issue...it impacts everyone differently. Most importantly there should be a cognitive test at some point...regardless of party affiliation.

2 people in ICE custody after attempting to breach Virginia Marine base Two similar incidents at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California over the past six months. Chinese nationals have accessed military installations and other sensitive facilities in the United States around 100 times in recent years, sometimes by posing as tourists, The Wall Street Journal reported in September 2023. Nothing to see here...no impact at all from open borders.

Boeing may be prosecuted after breaking safety agreement that prevented criminal charges for 737 crashes, US DOJ says Alleging that Boeing lied (shocker), about safety changed that were made.

He was a really good dude who was loved by all and the AFSOC community is justifiably upset. Being a cop is not easy, daily life or death decisions, and as in this case you will be judged for the rest of your life by the choices you make. That being said, training and leadership set the tone and this department is floundering at best. As mentioned above this is the same department that mag dumped a police cruiser with a handcuffed person in the back because a freaking Acorn fell and hit the roof. This community has crime but nothing like other areas of the country. In the history of Okaloosa County the department has lost five officers to gunfire, four of those were domestic violence situations, the last one happened 2.5 years ago. Everything about this call is odd and to some degree the officer was led down a very bad path. HE certainly had poor training and I beleive in most other areas of the country domestic calls get two officers. They won't say who called, but the lady who meets the cop MUST be investigated. She guides the officer to Fortson's apartment then says she heard "something that sounded like domestic violence TWO WEEKS AGO." That is NOT exigent circumstances, there is no warrant, there is only hearsay, no probable cause, but the cop starts pounding away and ordering the door to be opened...a complete fail. Roger has zero duty to open that door and to be clear the courts have ruled that repeated official commands to open a door without a warrant probable cause invoke the 4th amendment. As far as punishment, Roger did not deserve to die, but he was one of the few that stepped forward and swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, I would hope all of us would honor his service and allow for the officer to enjoy the protections offered by that document. He deserves due process and if he is found guilty he should be held accountable, but should not be purposely thrown into the general population for "extra" justice. Rest easy Roger and thank you for your service.

I read some literature that suggested Bird Flu H5N1 has a mortality rate close to 60%, but this is likely a large overestimate given ascertainment bias. That being said there are three traditional (non-MRNA), FDA approved vaccines that would be deployed. There are currently 10 Million doses in mass bulk storage (but it takes two doses to immunize). Lets hope they keep there eye on the ball and stockpile some more vaccine.

NOT the safety blanket you think it might be. USCCA is getting bad rap for dropping people AFTER they have a problem.

We have a great indoor range five minutes from my house and they rent a wide variety of guns including the CZ's. I actually prefer to shoot outdoors and we have several options within 30-40 minutes. My favorite is the Conecuh Shooting Range just to the north in Alabama. It is a public range with several great set ups including a shotgun section, a pistol range and a long-gun range. It costs $21.00 for a yearly Alabama WMA license as a Florida resident. A couple times a year we make a day of it as a family (bring water to wash your hands before lunch). I had a deal in place for 80 acres to build my compound but it fell through, still looking but plan to build a range on it.

Today, May 3rd in perhaps one of the tone def actions taken by the Biden administration (and that is saying something), the U.S. Department of Education announced an investigation of Emory University over...."Anti-Muslim discrimination." Seriously, if you voted for this clown, punch yourself in the gonads, repeatedly. Weeks of campus protests calling for genocide and the destruction of Israel...this is the response.

Huge props to the folks at University of Florida. No doubt channeling @M2 when they published this masterpiece.

Likely Chaos - they are encouraging this chaos. Interesting outflow of the Columbia situation. There were 280 arrests...not a SINGLE person went to jail. They were all processed off site and released. 170 got summonses to appear before a judge, the rest were issued simple tickets. Where is the President? Where is DOJ? We have an entire Civil Rights Division in DOJ that has done zippo... Antisemitism, (including calls for a new genocide), is illegal but Biden kicks ignores the issue and kicks the can to the universities rather than show leadership. Sucks when the FBI Director plays both sides as well: FBI director: Antisemitism reaching ‘historic level’ in US FBI director says probes of anti-Jewish hate crimes tripled in months after Oct. 7 Wray, in a Tuesday interview with NBC News’s Lester Holt, said the bureau does not directly track college protests, but it is providing information to schools as it becomes aware of possible threats.

Woke up early for some reason so grabbed some coffee and turned on the TV...Police in full riot gear busting up the UCLA encampment...must see TV...Tear Gas, pepper balls, stun grenades and batons on skulls...I am cheering like it is a big college game!

I did an exchange with the Marines and really enjoyed the experience. Contrary to the "leatherneck" and "crayon eater" stereotypes I found them to be extremely intelligent and capable. They do have some odd rules...not wearing flight suits off base for one...but I made some life long friendships.

First she will be hired into the next Democrat elected administration. FIFY They live in Alvin Bragg's district. The first round that was arrested was released, charged dropped and the arrest expunged form their records. I disagree on the retarded part...this is purposeful and has been for some time. Conservatives turned a blind eye as liberals took over Universities. Remember, those who can..do....those who can't teach. When they chant "I am Hamas" and openly call for a Jewish Genocide. Funny story time... As I was getting close to retirement I was going through the evaluation process for a couple of claims. Even though I live 25 minutes from a large VA hospital with all kinds of specialists, the VA in their infinite wisdom decided to send me three hours away to Biloxi to a contracted ENT doctor. I was having some serious back issues which required injections under partial sedation and wouldn't you know the C&P exam was scheduled the same day as my back procedure. Knowing you never want to skip a C&P exam I came up with a plan to do both. The day arrived and luckily my back procedure was first thing in the morning...my wife took me to the hospital, they got me all doped up then crammed a few needles and meds into my discs and spine. My wife was flying to DC that afternoon to help her parents and was going to cancel but when my two best friends heard Biloxi and they volunteered to "help" by taking me to the exam...in reality they had a plan to turn it into a gambling trip. One of them has a large SUV so they put a bunch of pillows and blankets in the back, tossed me in and took of for Biloxi. I woke up a few hours later still out of it and asked how much longer.?..they were slow to reply..."we are not sure, we think we have the wrong address!" I slowly sat up expecting to see a medical center and instead I was shocked to see we were driving through an industrial complex. They was a towing company, a welding shop, a junkyard...all metal buildings. We arrive at the address and it was a metal building with a dirt parking lot. The Dr's name was on the door so I went inside and checked in. They took my name and told me to have a seat. I was still VERY groggy and when I looked around the waiting room it didn't make sense...right above me was Tweety Bird and Sylvester!!!! I actually thought I was seeing things from the anesthesia. I pulled out my phone and took the attached pictures to prove I wasn't crazy. The waiting room furniture was best described as medieval with swords everywhere. My buddies were waiting outside in the ruck so I texted them these pictures as proof, half expecting a trap door to open and drop me into a dungeon. Eventually they called my name and I go back to the exam room which was even more weird. The walls were completely covered in movie posters and there was a top shelf with all kinds of collectable toys...see video! A short time later the Dr comes in and starts asking questions. I had already done an audiology exam with a different provider and he was going through the results...finally he asks me "when you shoot your gun are you right or left handed?" I was kind of taken aback so he said "you know, your rifle you carry in the service." I replied - "Dr I am not an infantryman, I am a pilot." He seemed confused then he said...."well what kind of airplane?" I replied "AC-130 Gunships"...he looked at me for a second then he said "well what side of the airplane are the guns on?" I replied the "left"...he looked at the paperwork and said...."well, that makes sense...exam complete." He then spent the next 20 minutes telling me how he used to work in the VA hospital but was fired for speaking up...her game me a rundown of his manifesto, which he later emailed to me and send me on my way with validated hearing loss in my left ear and Tinnitus. My buddies laughed all the way to the casino, then they dumped a bunch of booze on top of my anesthesia and we played craps and blackjack half the night. IMG_6631.MOV
